Triviality
I’m concerned with my ideas.
Not necessarily because they are bad ideas - I’m sure they’re not - but because they’re trivial. Like @designcomputing said:
“..we knew that most ideas in the group of 90 were going to be good, and they are! But… most of those ideas lack depth and scope.”
I particularly relate to this statement, where my own idea doesn’t have any real purpose other than being purely artistic, an interpretation of play where people can examine the cards and find stimulation in that.
My idea is relatively original, yet so lacking in meaning.
I want my ideas to have meaning. I want to effect change and to deal with real world issues and important ideas. So to have my idea at the moment (merely something to pass the time) be so trivial, so banal, it really concerns me. It concerns me because I need to keep working on this idea while at the same time I want to move on to something with far more depth.
Perhaps it is only now with the experience I have gained that I can be left longing to create something with more depth and meaning.
Perhaps that was the lesson all along.
