bittersweet
part two
pairing | felix x flor
word count | 3.2k
warnings | smut. minors dni.
author’s note | so i wanted to write like 2 more parts to this, but honestly... i feel like this turned out great. also yes, i probably should’ve made this a lot shorter, but the prompt got away from me as per usual. not proofread because i’m tired :/ this is for day seven of hot in wayhaven, aftercare!
•─────────────────•
Things have been weird since that night.
She just kind of went back to treating him exactly the same as she had before. She held him at arms’ length like she did with everyone she was wary of letting in.
He was sure that this time he’d made progress.
For the few months leading up till he almost throat fucked her in her dimly lit apartment, she’d been warming up to him.
He managed a few genuine smiles and laughs despite trying less hard to do so. He caught her watching him across the room during meetings, trainings, briefings… anytime they weren’t alone, he caught her staring at least once.
She’d even started asking about him. Any time he was late to a meeting, she bugged Mason with a punch to the shoulder or a scuff of her shoe against the toe of his own.
Didn’t matter how much progress he’d made if it’d just been ruined by one big fuck up on both of their ends.
This particular night, Felix is mulling over the events leading up to when she left, still trying to figure out where things went wrong.
He paces around the room once, twice, before plopping into his giant bean bag chair.
Before he can really settle in there, he’s restless again, jumping to his feet to cross the room once again, climbing into the hammock in the corner.
This isn’t right, either, he huffs to himself, rolling awkwardly out of the hammock and to the middle of the room, flinging himself onto his bed.
He picks up the Gameboy on his nightstand, tap-tap-tapping away on full volume until he hears a single loud thud against the wall across from him.
Abandoning his game of Galaga, he groans in frustration, rolling his eyes at Mason’s feeble attempts to silence him. Tossing the Gameboy to the foot of his bed, he opts instead to grab his tamagotchi, feeding his pet till he’s bored again.
He has lots of things. And these things keep him occupied and hold his attention for a while.
But none of them keep his attention long enough to satiate his wandering mind.
Flor’s been his main focus for a while, but it’s particularly bad this week since she’s taken a vacation for the first time since he’s met her.
It’s not even that she’s a hard worker – she’s just on such bad terms with the captain that she never bothered asking for days off when she knew she wouldn’t get them even if she had plans to get outta town.
Her being on vacation doesn’t bother him at all – it’s the way he’s got unfinished business and he can’t do anything about it.
He can’t seem to think of anything else without her creeping into the back of his mind one way or the other.
He twists off of the bed and walks to his dresser, where his phone’s charging on its surface.
He’s confused. He misses her, he’s angry at her, he wants her –
To say he’s confused is an understatement, really.
He’s been patient, he’s been kind, he’s been understanding – and for her to ignore him for the entire summer?
He’d been counting down the days till they got back to normal. He’s in the hundreds now, and there’s no end in sight.
There’s two endings if he decides to fix it tonight – he’s either getting treated better, or he moves on from her.
The latter option is a painful thought, one he doesn’t give himself time to digest before he taps the number at the top of his favorites.
The phone rings once, twice, and his finger hovers over the end call button. He’s so close to chickening out – this is an awful idea –
“What? Huh?” Flor asks, voice raspy and twinged with sleep. She yawns around her greeting, and he can picture her running a hand through her thick dyed hair. “Who is this?”
Does she really not even have his number saved?
“Uh, it’s Felix. I, um, this is a check in call,” he lies, tensing immediately.
Why’s that his knee jerk reaction? Two seconds into the call and he’s already making excuses instead of standing up for himself.
He really can’t help it, though. She’s so intimidating.
“It’s four thirty in the fucking morning,” she groans. “If you and your little team aren’t gonna respect my sleeping schedule consider any calls from this point on fucking rejected.”
“No, no, I, uh –”
He has no excuses. He can’t lie again… and she already sounds upset, and it’d make the rest of the call even more unpleasant.
“I lied. It’s not a check up,” he sits up in bed, nervously fiddling with the tamagotchi.
“Well then what is it?” She spits, clearly cranky and sleep deprived.
“I have some things I need to say to you, and… I, uh, I don’t know if you’ll like it,” he twists the keychain around his finger, but tosses his little friend to the end of his bed alongside his Gameboy. He needs to focus.
She’s silent. He knows he’s on limited time.
“I… miss you.”
She goes silent, the static of the phone crackling because of both of their poor signals.
“Thanks.”
The one word response has him silently screaming at himself – he flings himself back on the bed, kicking his legs and flailing.
I miss you. Thanks.
The most embarrassing response he could’ve ever gotten.
“I was gonna say more than that. I’m just… gathering the courage,” he says, takes a deep breath, anchors himself.
“I don’t like how you’ve been treating me, Flor, honestly, and I think you owe me an apology.”
“Oh, I do,” she responds, a deadpan question, nearly mocking.
“Yeah, you do,” Felix bites back immediately, surprised even at himself with how forceful he’s being. “You almost fucked me at the beginning of summer, and now you’re not talking to me? I thought we were, I don’t know, friends at least? I know I’m not your Tina and I never will be, but I want to be there for you.”
“I’m not…” she trails off, and there’s a swishing sound like she’s shifting in bed. “Trying to avoid you, alright? It just seems like that, I guess.”
He can’t stop his hand from clenching into a tight fist, can’t stop it from shaking with rage, can’t stop the venom bubbling up his throat and dripping off his tongue.
“Don’t… tell me how to feel, Flor. I’m upset, so don’t try to downplay it, okay? I know you’re trying to avoid me, and that’s fine, I guess, as long as you, I dunno, let me move on.”
“Move on?” She asks, her tone (surprisingly) cushioned with sincerity.
“Yeah, I, uh,” he stands, striding across the room to the window, and back to the door, pacing (He’s wondering if she’s pacing too). “I like you a lot, but I have to protect myself, too, y’know? If you don’t want me around, you’ve gotta tell me so that I can stop, uh, investing too much of myself into… this.”
“Felix…” she sighs, and quiets. “I know you’re looking for answers, but I don’t have them. I don’t know.”
“So, what, that’s it then?”
“I… yeah. Yeah. That’s it.”
Flor sounds unsure, but he’s not gonna press her further. It hurts, but he has to move on or she’ll consume him in a fiery blaze.
He’s let the flames lick at him, but when it comes down to it, he can’t handle the inferno. He’s walking away before he gets burned, when all he wants to do is be engulfed by her.
It’s easier this way, in theory, but saying goodbye is harder than he’s ever anticipated.
“Bye, Flor. Sweet dreams.”
He disconnects before she can say another word, and he crumples onto his bed, pulling his knees to his chest.
He’s losing another person he cares about, and just like last time, he couldn’t do a damn thing about it.
Tears are falling freely now, and he angrily wipes them away with a rough backhand.
It’s not her fault. It’s not your fault. You’re just not compatible.
That’s what he tells himself, at least, as he’s drifting off to sleep. He’ll deal with Rebecca and Unit Bravo in the morning.
––––
Flor clutches the phone in her hand, her jaw tight.
She didn’t get the last word, and she sure as hell didn’t get to say what she wanted to say.
Felix was hurting and she couldn’t even manage kindness for one goddamn moment.
No one asks to be emotionally detached – it's just easier that way, for Flor, at least.
Wading through the mess of her apartment, she steps into the bare kitchen. Pours herself a cup of water. Chugs it to clear her head.
When that doesn’t do the trick, she takes a hefty shot of tequila. Bad idea, but the burn gives her a sense of clarity she doesn’t have when she’s completely sober.
You’ve been dragging your fucking feet for years now. Get the hell over it. Go to him. Be with him.
Every instinct she has is dragging her towards the front door where her car keys hang. Another bad idea, as per usual.
Before she can talk herself out of it, she shoots him a quick text. Come over. Please. We need to talk in person.
It’s not the wisest idea for her to face her problems head on, but the tiny, reasonable part of Flor’s mind is telling her she needs to fight for him instead of letting him slip through her fingers.
––––
He doesn’t see the text till an hour and a half after she’s sent it.
It’s just past six in the morning. The sun’s just barely creeping its way into his room, golden streaks across his wood floor.
He assumes she just wants the last word and that’s why she sent it – but an even louder part of him entertains the “what ifs” that are bouncing around his mind.
What if she wants to apologize? What if she wants to hear how I feel? And tell me where her head’s at?
After going back and forth for a few minutes, impulse wins, and he’s tossing on a vibrant graphic tee and shorts before he sprints out the door.
Nate’s the only one up, reading the newspaper and filling out the crossword puzzles in the soft lighting of the kitchen, and he shoots Felix a knowing look of encouragement.
Unit Bravo knows how infatuated Felix is with Flor, and they constantly flit between telling him to let her go and chasing after her.
Today’s a good day in that regard – Nate’s given his wordless blessing with nothing but a soft smile.
He’s at her place in ten minutes flat, staring up at the apartment like it’s a creaky, spooky haunted house.
His courage is thinning the closer he steps to her front door. His bones are gelatin, and his brain is equally as mushy.
It’s not an ideal state, but he doesn’t know when he’ll get another chance like this. Get the courage again like this.
Rapping his knuckles against the stained door, he waits. He rocks back on his heels, taps his feet, does anything he can to get the jitters out of his system.
When the door finally does open, his heart leaps at the sight of her.
Her hair’s a mess. Her leftover eyeliner is smudged all around her eyes. Her dark eyes are lined with red from lack of sleep. She looks exhausted.
“You came.”
“Yeah,” he breathes, and steps into her apartment when she gestures for him to come in.
She shuts the door behind him, and this time instead of shoving him up against the door to kiss him, she takes his hand.
Laces her fingers through his own, tugs him toward her couch.
He doesn’t know how to start this conversation, and from the looks of it, neither does she.
“What’s up?” He asks, simply, feeling like an idiot almost instantly for making things that casual.
“I’m…” she trails off, nearly black irises softening when she looks at him. He could live in those midnight pools.
“Sorry. I’m sorry.”
He raises both brows in surprise, and his gaze flits to their hands. She’s death gripping one of his hands with both of hers, her jaw set.
“Uh –”
“I’m getting to the why. I just don’t know how to say it –”
She grunts, shifting on the couch. “I’m not a nice person. You know that.”
“You’re nice in your own way,” he offers, rubbing a thumb over her knuckles.
“God, Felix, I’m a mean bitter bitch. Don’t sugar coat it,” she laughs. “I don’t really wanna be this way, but it’s easier than getting… invested in people.”
“Whaddaya mean?”
“It’s just easier to shut people out than to have expectations for them,” she starts, shrugging. “And having them expect things from you, too.”
“So, what you’re saying is, you don’t want us to have expectations for each other?” He asks.
“I’m gonna say this as bluntly and straight forward as I can, because I don’t think I can do anything else,” she answers after taking a deep, shaky breath.
“I like you. I’m attracted to you. I want you in my life,” she holds his eyes, speaking as earnestly as she can manage. “But I need you to be patient with me. I don’t know how to do… this. I don’t know how to get close to people anymore. Last time I did it was fucking toxic and I told myself never again.”
“Bobby,” he murmurs, and she nods.
“If you want me, too, we’ll both have to compromise,” she continues, stiffening a little like she’s bracing for impact. “I have to get used to the way you do things, and you’ll have to get used to the way I am, too. But I promise you, Felix, I’m gonna try.”
“Try what?” His voice is a little shaky, and she’s coming towards him, slowly closing the gap between them.
“I’m gonna try to love you, if you’ll try to love me,” she whispers, her jaw set again.
That’s all he needed to hear.
He closes his eyes and kisses her sweetly, softly, letting go of her hands so he can cup her face.
She’s so precious to him, so he cradles her face like the gem she is.
“Flor…” Her name’s a quiet promise as it falls from his lips.
I promise as long as you’re trying, I’ll try, too.
She clutches his hips as she kisses him, moaning sweetly into his mouth.
He doesn’t know when she starts slowly tugging his clothes off, but soon enough, they’re skin to skin, and he can’t tell where his body ends and hers begins.
She’s different this time, he notices. She’s more timid. Maybe she’s never been taken care of like this before.
As he bows his head between her legs, he can’t help but wonder if he’ll be her favorite or not.
She’s slack jawed and grasping at his head, squeezing her tattooed thighs around his face.
God, she’s beautiful, all spread out for him – she’s a gift of brown skin (and a pretty pink pussy).
She writhes and pants with each stroke of his tongue, his name broken and garbled on her lips.
When she tugs his head upwards to press sloppy kisses on his mouth, he knows she wants more.
“Flor…” he trails off, feeling sweat bead on the back of his neck. “Do you really wanna do this?”
“Only if you want to, doll.”
God, he can barely breathe. A proposition and a pet name. To most, that’s nothing. But to him, it’s the entire world.
She anchors herself on top of him and settles onto his cock, keeping direct eye contact while she stretches around him.
His eyes are fluttering shut, rolling back, and his head is threatening to loll to the side – she grabs his cheeks between her hand and tugs him back up, her half lidded eyes lustful and determined.
“I want to see you… watch me, and I’ll watch you,” she pants as she flexes her hips, his tip the only part inside of her, but she flexes again, taking all of him (every delicious inch).
“Fuck,” he curses, and she grins, bouncing against him.
He fists his hands at her hips, running a hand up her stomach to rest at the barbed wire tattoos lining her under boob. He can’t figure out what part of her he wants to touch so he opts for it all, squeezing, nipping, kissing every piece of skin his hands and mouth can cover.
“You feel so fucking good around me, doll – fuck me just like that,” she grunts as he bucks up into her.
He’s never been one to have a filthy mouth, but boy does he fucking love it.
The sun’s fully engulfing her living room at this point, the golden glow warming both of their exposed skin already, glistening in the Wayhaven sunrise.
She’s so pretty like this. She’s in her element like this, too. Confident.
The nervous, rigid version of herself was long gone.
She’s opening up to him. Albeit emotionally and physically, she’s trying. She’s blooming for him.
Flor means flower right? She’s finally in season, and it’s worth the wait.
––––
In the heat of it all, they’ve kicked all her clean laundry to the floor, but she grabbed a thin blanket from the top to cover them.
She’s cuddled up to him on the small couch, her head resting on his sweat slicked chest.
They’d been at it for a while when they both finally came. He didn’t expect her to want to cuddle, but they did.
“We probably need to clean up, huh?” she murmurs, soft kisses against his skin.
“Lemme take care of it,” he grins, crawling over her before she can protest.
He’s back in a flash with a damp towel and a bottle of water.
“Thanks,” she smiles, taking the bottle from him. When she tries to grab the damp towel, he holds it away from her.
“Can I clean you up?” He asks timidly.
Flor shrugs, mouth still on the bottle. “Okay.”
He bends to his knees and pulls the blanket away, dragging the cloth gently along her thighs, cleaning up the mess he’s made.
He folds the towel and rubs her stomach and thighs again, before kissing her knee. “You’re so pretty.”
Before he can stand up, she grabs his arm and tugs him back down for a long kiss.
When she pulls back, her eyes are shiny, soft. Midnight pools, and he’s submerged in them.
“I’ve never been fucked by someone who cares about me like you do.”
He grins and pulls her in for a kiss again.
“Well, get used to the feeling.”
He wants every messy, unpolished part of Flor he can get, from her crass humor to her sailor’s mouth.
This is the farthest they’ve ever taken things, yeah, but he’s willing to go further and further with her, as long as she’ll have him.

word count | 0.7k
warnings | none
author’s note | happy wayhaven summer!! i’m so excited to finally start writing for my other pairings, especially with something as fun and loving as pride week! i’ll be posting all my fics in a chaptered form on ao3 if you’d wanna read it there. i’m so excited for all the lgbt+ content this week!
•─────────────────•
The June sun was relentless, but thankfully Felix’s umbrella hat blocked out the worst of it.
He didn’t really mind his strength being drained since he was with her.
Honestly, she could handle herself. But he constantly wondered if he could handle her.
She was fiery, aloof – a complete 180 than what he was used to pursuing. But… she’d been warming up to Unit Bravo. To him.
He’d caught himself thinking about holding her hand, kissing her cheek, lots of sweet things that he thought was way too far fetched for her to say the least.
They stood on the edge of the crowd, watching as the floats and the select participants on foot ambled by, music blasting from all directions.
He couldn’t help but shimmy to the beat, shuffling his feet across the pavement until he bumped into her.
She quirked a brow at him, before peering at him over her sunglasses.
“Just dancin’. It’s a good song.”
“It is,” she nodded, folding her arms. “You wanna grab a pin from that booth?”
“I got one already,” he grinned, tapping the bisexual flag pin on his chest. “Beat ya to that one.”
A hint of a smile tugged at her lips.
They settled back into a comfortable silence.
“You wanna move?”
“Huh?”
Her dark eyes flicked to his feet again, still shuffling out of restlessness. He wanted to be a part of the parade – if he wasn’t on patrol duty.
“Oh, sorry, I’m just excited.”
She shrugged. “No need to apologize. The last of the floats are coming through soon if you wanna go ahead and head down the street.”
“Can we, uh, walk with them?”
Flor laughed, loud and raspy – it was a rare thing, but filled him with immeasurable joy. That laugh alone could fuel him for weeks (until he got her to giggle or smile again).
“Yeah, sure. Easier to patrol from the inside. Good thinkin’,” she nodded, flashing him a grin.
Was it Christmas or something?
She was so relaxed and the most open he’d ever seen her. It was beautiful to watch.
She tipped her chin at him and stepped into the flow of the crowd.
“Here, wear these!” A happy parade-goer chirped, handing Felix a fist full of beads.
“Want some?” He shouted, holding a couple out to her. When her fingers brushed his, he couldn’t help but shiver at the contact.
She slipped the beads around her neck, her muscle tank lifting just enough that a sliver of her skin showed through – and he saw it.
“Is that a… belly button piercing?” He averted his eyes when she shot him a look.
“Yeah. I’m not normally flashy with these kinda things so I thought I’d wear something a little less visible.”
The dangling emblem from her navel matched his pin. “You, too?”
She lifted a shoulder in a shrug. “Yup. I didn’t feel the need to disclose it with anyone in Unit Bravo, though.”
“No, no, that’s okay. I just meant, uh, that’s really cool, Flor.”
Her eyes flickered up at him at the sound of her name, and she seemed to relax a bit, like a singular brick of her wall was chipped away, just enough for him to wiggle his way in a little closer. It wasn’t much, but it was enough for him.
“Thanks. Oh, hey, come here,” she grabbed his hand and weaved through the crowd towards the center.
He couldn’t focus on anything she said after that, instead channeling all his energy into remembering the way she grabbed his hand and gripped it.
Her palms were rough and her fingers were for sure longer than his, but they clasped around his hand so perfectly that he couldn’t help but squeeze her hand when she stopped pulling him through the crowd – he didn’t want to let go.
“The shade helpful? Or did I just shove through those people for nothing?” She joked (actually joked), grip loosening on his hand.
“It’s perfect,” he said, daring to rub his thumb across her knuckle.
Her gaze flicked down at his hand on hers, but before he could pull away, she squeezed back once.
They fell in a slow step together, hands still intertwined. Confetti blew around them, music blasted, and the atmosphere was magic, the air charged with excitement like he hadn’t seen before.
His first pride was one for the books.

bittersweet
part one
pairing | felix x flor
word count | 1.6k
warnings | smut. minors dni.
author’s note | i had the idea to write a couple short things for felix and flor as they get navigate getting intimate with each other, so here’s part one! it’s inspired by the song bittersweet by greer (the lyrics are very felix pining after a detective that’s keeping them at arm’s length). this is for day one of hot in wayhaven, foreplay!
•─────────────────•
This is the farthest they’ve ever taken things.
Her hands are fisting the collar of his jacket and she’s got her tongue down his throat like her life depends on the intensity of this kiss.
He’s never been kissed like this.
She’s let him peck her on the cheek once or twice. One time she even initiated the kiss, a lingering one, when he drove her home after a night of drinking, but she blinked and pulled away as quickly as she’d started it, shaking herself out of it like she was in a haze.
That kiss was never brought up again.
It’d been a slow process to get her to open up to him – her hard exterior was still very much in tact, but he’d been wearing it down slowly and surely.
A delicate brush of the knuckle with his fingertips here, a gentle squeeze of her hand in support there. Nothing that’d lead him to believe he deserved a kiss like this.
Flor’s got him shoved against the sliver of brick wall next to the door of her apartment, kissing him with a fervor he didn’t know her capable of.
A few minutes before, Felix walked her from the parking lot to the front door of her apartment, her hands dug deeply in her jean pockets, her back rigid.
“Thanks,” she’d muttered as soon as they made it to her front door. She retrieved her keys from her back pocket, fumbling and dropping them almost immediately.
She growled in frustration, snatching them off the welcome mat (which was quite the opposite – huge bold letters reading “Fuck Off” wasn’t the warmest welcome) before Felix could bend down.
“Are you, uh, alright?” He asked timidly, bracing himself for impact.
It wasn’t that she took her feelings out on him – it wasn’t that in the slightest.
He just never knew what she was going to say. Sometimes she’d drop devastating emotional bombs on him in twenty words or less and just go back to normal like she hadn’t said a thing.
Other times she’d snap about how frustrated she was that she was even in this mess and that she never signed up for this life.
So when she finally opened up to him, years into Unit Bravo being stationed in Wayhaven, he had no idea how to react.
“No. I’m not. I don’t –” She grunted in frustration, running a hand through her short red hair before tying it in a bun.
The Wayhaven heat was unbearable that day; even the sun sinking below the trees wasn’t enough to cool the town off.
She crossed her arms above her head, resting her forearms against her hair.
“Something’s wrong and I don’t know what the fuck it is.”
He raised both brows in surprise. “Like, you sense something supernatural?”
“No, no, nothing like that I just – there’s something wrong with me and I can’t figure it out,” she struggled, clearly frustrated with her inability to articulate what she was feeling.
“If you’re feeling sick, I can take you to Elidor –”
She groans again, and kicks the brick with her boot. “It’s not that either.”
He shrugged. “Well, maybe you could sleep it off, ya know? If you’re not feeling better by the morning, I can go get you some snacks, uh, like those spicy chips you’re always munching on that Mason hates. Oh! And a movie and some candy and maybe some new pajamas, or like, a stuffed animal, maybe –”
She closed the gap between them, crushing her lips against him in a kiss he never anticipated, but enjoyed nonetheless. His back hit the wall, nearly knocking the breath out of him.
He’s still frozen, moving his lips against hers, but his shoulders are up to his ears.
She’s never wanted me like this before. Why now?
Flor pulls back, her eyes half lidded, deep dark brown eyes trained on his lips.
“You’re what’s wrong with me,” she says, pressing her thumb into the base of his neck, running a rough line up his throat.
“Uh, me?” He stammers, keeping his eyes downcast.
“Yeah, you,” she pulls him in for another kiss, softer than the last, and he melts into this one without a second thought.
“You’ve never kissed me like this before,” he whispers against her mouth, humming when she sucks his bottom lip between her teeth.
She pulls back again, loosening her grip on his collar. “Do you not like it?”
“No, I do,” he starts. “I just don’t want you doing anything you’ll regret.”
“The only person I regret being with is Bobby Marks, and you’re not her. Not by a longshot,” she laughs once, the raspy sound harsh and grating.
“It’s not that I don’t want to kiss you or anything, I do, I just, uh, I kinda wanna take things slow. For now,” he reassures her, lifting his hand (daringly so) to tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
“So you wanna do over the pants stuff or makeout or what?” She quirks a brow, dropping her hands from his neck to his chest, the heat of her palms burning through the thin fabric of his button up.
His jaw pops open and snaps shut almost immediately – he can’t think of a response. His mind’s completely blank.
“Well, come in at least. We can figure out that later, I guess.”
She wiggles the key in the lock and shoves her shoulder against the door, grunting as it pops open. “Gotta get that fixed.”
Kicking it open, she gestures for him to come inside.
It’s dark and messy. The chair in the corner has practically disappeared under clean clothes, and the dishes are piled a mile high in the sink.
“Sorry for the mess. I’m never home.”
That explains the mess for sure, but there’s something about her apartment that he can’t put his finger on.
It’s like her home isn’t lived in, and in turn there’s not much evidence that this place is even hers in the first place.
When the lock clicks behind him, she’s pressed against him again, and his back is against the scratchy wood of the door.
He doesn’t know why he’s stepped inside if he has no intention of fucking her.
He likes those kisses and would gladly accept them if they kept coming, but… it’s too much too soon.
Felix wants to say these things to Flor, but the second her lips were on his, her hand sliding down his torso, tugging his shirt out of his pants, teasing the waistband of his shorts –
He’s forgotten everything he wanted to say.
Any morsel of resolve evaporates the second her fingers graze the skin above his shaft.
“Fuck, I’ve wanted to do this for so long,” she whispers against his neck, suckling and nipping between words.
“Why… didn’t you –” he asks, breathing labored, barely able to stifle the groan of anticipation when she expertly pops open the button to his shorts with one hand.
“I don’t think you want the answer to that,” she chuckles, her breath against his neck raising goosebumps across his skin.
Flor shoves his shorts and boxers below his ass, sinking her teeth into her lip at the first sight of his cock.
“You’ve been hiding that monster from me this entire time?” She muses, cupping her hand around his chin, tugging it upwards to kiss her.
He can’t help but laugh into her mouth, but any quip dissolves into soft moans when she starts to pump her hand.
While he’s writhing with each stroke, she uses her free hand to pop each button till his whole torso is exposed.
“You’re so pretty,” she murmurs, bending to pepper kisses across his chest, down his lean stomach, grinning when his stomach stutters at the contact.
She’s nearly on her knees now (still rubbing him off agonizingly slow) but she’s in full control. He wouldn’t dare try to take the reins when she’s making him feel like this.
“Flor…” he breathes, daring to reach out and touch her.
He tries to gently stroke her cheekbone but she traps his thumb between her lips, running her tongue across the skin of it.
“Do you… really wanna do this?” He asks, almost afraid of the answer.
She stops for a second, holding his gaze for a long while.
“I can’t think of any reasons why I wouldn’t wanna fuck your brains out, Felix. I like you.”
A grin tugs at her lips, and soon, he’s mirroring it with one of his own.
She takes that as an incentive to keep going.
When she drags her tongue up his shaft from the bottom to the tip, the pressure of her tongue ring makes his eyes roll back, his lids fluttering shut. “Oh shit –”
He’s anticipating the feeling of having her mouth around him, and he’s practically aching with anticipation –
“Fuck,” she says, standing while checking her phone, the tiny screen illuminating her face, casting shadows on her furrowed brows. “Tina’s sick. Douglas can’t run the place by himself.”
Flor’s already ripping her shirt off and grabbing a new one from the clean pile on the chair in the corner before he can say a thing.
“Oh, uh, maybe we can, um, finish this up another time?” He asks, tugging his boxers and shorts back into place.
“Sure,” she shrugs, not even looking at him.
It’s like she’s already forgotten she was jerking him off at the entrance to her home.
She’s back to being the same old Flor in a matter of seconds, and he’s left to figure out what he did wrong.
He watches her peel out of the parking lot, hands in his pockets.
As he walks towards the woods to head back towards the warehouse, Felix wonders if he should’ve come here in the first place.

wayhaven summer fic #3
pairing | felix x flor
word count | 1.2k
warnings | drug mention, condom mention
author’s note | you know i was worried that i was stretching the prompt and not incorporating pride into it enough but... two chaotic bisexuals watching fireworks together? i think i’m good <3 as usual, you can read this fic on ao3 if you’d want! comments and kudos are greatly appreciated!
•─────────────────•
Flor held a slender finger to her lips, a small mischievous smirk already there.
She popped the end of the flashlight into her mouth, dangling it above her hands which were already preoccupied with the lock.
She wiggled the bobby pin with a deft hand, her dyed brows furrowed in concentration.
Within seconds, it clicked, and she yanked the lock off of the chains (which were looped tightly around the handles of the door) with a triumphant laugh.
“It’s like they didn’t even try,” she rolled her eyes, tucking the flashlight in the crook of her elbow, tugging the door open to breeze through.
It nearly slammed in his face – he was entranced.
He’d heard about and seen this side of her in passing, but hadn’t gotten the chance to experience it for himself.
Sometimes, she got this youthful glimmer in her eye that made her look like a teenager again. Maybe she’d buried that side of herself when she joined the force, but it lingered.
Getting the invite to come along with her was extraordinary to say the least.
Shed elbowed him and tipped her chin towards the doors. “Just got a noise complaint near the old high school. I need backup.”
It was a miracle he didn’t rocket out of his shoes and crash land on the moon.
Flor was someone who didn’t let very many people in… but he wanted to be one of those people. He saw how she treated Tina, Verda, and Douglas.
People she was comfortable around. He wanted to be that for her, but didn’t have too many ideas how. So when the opportunity presented itself, he took it.
He followed her into the building, shoes scuffing against the linoleum flooring, keeping up with her determined gait as she glided through the halls with a sense of purpose.
“Did you go here?”
She glanced back at him, one hand casually stuffed in her back pocket, the other fist gripping their only source of light. “Yup.”
Shit, he should know better by now than to ask her yes or no questions –
“Weird, but the first time I got arrested it was trespassing. Here.”
“The first time?” Whoops. He for sure didn’t mean to ask that aloud.
She chuckled, eyes crinkling. “Yeah. The other ones are pretty uneventful in comparison. Loitering, skipping school, smoking, drinking, fighting –”
“Whoa –”
“Yeah, I was a problem,” she shrugged, more tense than before.
“Well, I think you turned out perfect,” he beamed.
She rolled her lips to hold back another smile. “Definitely not. I’m pretty rough around the edges.”
“Rough doesn’t mean bad.”
She blinked, clearly taken aback. “Thanks.”
He nodded. “Don’t mention it.”
Thankfully they rounded a corner so there wasn’t enough time for any awkwardness to settle in.
“There’s an emergency exit to the roof in the cafeteria kitchen,” she said, opening a door that led to the stairs.
She threw him a quick “Don’t ask how I know that” look before he could ask questions.
Before long, they’d found the hatch and the rusty ladder that led to the roof. He was sure she’d forgotten his presence as she grabbed the rungs and hoisted herself up with no hesitation, not even sparing him a second glance.
It was kind of peculiar, thinking about how Flor interacted with Unit Bravo, the Agency, the force, him.
She didn’t need anyone to do shit for her – never asked for shit. She was resilient and strong in the face of failure in a way that he only saw in the biggest (scariest) supernaturals.
It scared him a bit to know that at any moment he could be called away and she’d go back to normal and enjoy her simple life, never thinking twice about him.
The plausibility of it rocked him to his core.
Yeah, he’d only been in this realm for a couple years (not nearly as many as his teammates) but the fleeting moments that Flor gave him the time of day was enough to fuel him for lifetimes.
A loud pop sounded above him, and the latch was pried open.
“Oh shit –” she said, pulling herself up by her elbows and onto her feet.
When he pulled himself upright, he realized what she meant.
For one, they’d found their culprits a building over, launching rockets off into the sky without a care, obviously smoking pot and drinking and blaring their music way too loud.
And two, their roof was littered with frisbees, crushed cans, broken glass, worn cardboard boxes with beer labels on them, and condoms. A surprising amount of condoms.
She fisted the collar of his shirt and tugged him down to eye level with her, squatted on the weather stained concrete.
“This is their idea of a good time?” She flicked her foot, kicking a half broken bottle away from her.
“There’s something so sinister about broken glass and condoms being that close together,” Felix shook his head, thankful he’d worn his old Vans (not the brand new ones that he definitely didn’t buy because he saw Flor owned the same pair).
Flor snorted – actually snorted – at his joke, slapping her free hand over her mouth, the other still curled around his shirt. “Shut up, Felix, you’re gonna blow our cover.”
“Me?” He grinned, using the rare sweet moment to egg her on. “You’re the one choking on your tongue ring because I made a stupid joke.”
She kept laughing, and he was thankful the rocket the culprits had just set off was loud – she was able to belly laugh and he was able to experience it all, right there, right next to him.
“You’re killing me,” she said between broken chuckles, finally letting go of his collar to wipe under her eyes.
After heartily slapping him on the back, she inched her way forward until she was peering over the edge of the roof.
He followed suit, sidling up as close as she’d allow.
“Oh fuck, I love those,” she murmured, pointing to a big box in the back.
“‘Mega Death Explosion Surprise 3000’ – kind of a stupid name,” he shrugged, eyes flickering her way to see if she cracked a smile. She did.
“That’s not its name.”
“What can I say, I’m a picture book kinda guy.”
Rolling her eyes, she leaned forward till she was resting her chin on her knuckle, which was curled around the concrete.
“We, uh, don’t have to bust up their party, you know,” he suggested, watching as the teenagers set up a line of rockets and cranked their music up louder.
“You know… you’re right.”
“I am?”
“Yep, you are. Let’s… maybe wait till I get another call. Not really a problem when only one person’s complaining, amirite?” Flor flashed a grin his way, resting her cheekbone on her hand.
She was so damn pretty.
“You’re right,” he said, a soft smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
They settled against the concrete, gaze upturned as the bright sparks exploded across the Wayhaven skyline, illuminating the peculiar little town below.

WIP WEDNESDAY
HI THANK YOU FOR THE TAG @possumsunshine !!!!! (if you guys haven’t seen the gorgeous art jas teased pls go look ... it’s everything)
i’m gonna share a few snippets of short drabbles i’ve written for pride week of @wayhavensummer! surprisingly... they’re not mason x sofía LMAO i’m on my felix x flor & nate x ramona bullshit lately so! enjoy <3
felix x flor
“Is that a… belly button piercing?” He averted his eyes when she shot him a look.
“Yeah. I’m not normally flashy with these kinda things so I thought i’d wear something a little less visible.”
The dangling emblem from her navel matched his pin. “You, too?”
She lifted a shoulder in a shrug. “Yup. I didn’t feel the need to disclose it with anyone in Unit Bravo, though.”
“No, no, that’s okay. I just meant, uh, that’s really cool, Flor.”
Her eyes flickered up at him at the sound of her name, and she seemed to relax a bit, like a singular brick of her wall was removed, just enough for him to get a little closer. It wasn’t much, but it was enough for him.
nate x ramona
“You can’t smooch your way out of this one so don’t even try it,” she said, pressing a kiss to the tip of his nose. “And you can’t move if you want me to finish anytime soon.”
“Only if you’re still planning on fulfilling your promise,” Nate raised a coated brow (covered in glue and powder) and grinned.
Ramona let out a howl, leaning forward until she was rested against him, arms shaking in laughter. “Oh my god let me wipe your teeth, love. This is embarrassing.”
Nate chuckled, running his tongue over his teeth. “This is what I get for trying to be sweet.”

i cant think of any facts about my detectives right now lol but can i know more about sofía and flor relationships with rebecca?? pls thx
yall cant follow directions huh :/ JK THIS IS REALLY SWEET THANK U
ok im putting it under the cut bc it’s way longer than i thought it’d be JFKSJDFK
alright so if you expected good relationships im sorry to disappoint ! just know that sofía’s highest has been like 20% i think and flor’s hasn’t gotten higher than 10% at any point (i think it’s currently like 8% maybe LMAO) and those numbers are generous
sofía’s relationship with rebecca isn’t great because she was always closer to rook – i can’t remember how old the detective is supposed to be when rook dies, but i hc that she lost him like right before she started middle school, like when she REALLY needed him. and rebecca just pulled back even farther and sofía really began resenting her for it – by the time that she’d all but forgiven her while in college, she went back home and got stuck in wayhaven and all of those feelings that she thought she’d moved past came back. she’s not mean to rebecca, but she does lash out at her when she tries to act like a concerned mother. as a kid, sofía tried doing things that she did with rook growing up to bond with her. she asked her to take her to a planetarium, to take her to her favorite museums, to help her with her science fair projects – but rebecca always had excuses, so she got the memo pretty early on and just pulled back completely from her. it was part of the reason she went across the country for college. and being forced to work with her is fucking with her a LOT because she used to have bad anger issues and she’s worked HARD to tame her emotions but being around her infuriating ex and absent mother isn’t helping. and mason but that’s another thing entirely LMAO
and flor..... ohohhohoho baby there’s a lot to unpack there. flor’s already a hard ass who holds grudges like nobody’s business. super untrustworthy and no tolerance for bullshit. she cannot stand rebecca – i think that she genuinely hates her, even though she recognizes that that’s her mom and she’ll always be tied to her by blood and by profession. flor always lashes out at her and doesn’t hesitate to tell her how she’s feeling. honestly having to team up with her mom has made their non-existent relationship even worse, because now she has to deal with her mom acting like she wasn’t aloof her entire childhood AND being purposefully distant about rook’s death. [she got arrested in high school a lot bc she wanted to get her mom’s attention w/o even realizing it]
yeah anyways both of my detectives have awful relationships with rebecca but sofía’s the only one that feels mildly guilty about it KSJDKFSJKD

1, 12 and 19 for all your lovely detectives?🥺
AHHH THANK U SM FOR THIS ASK !!!! ok ill have to put it under a cut buckle up <3 SJDJKSDFKJD
1. what are your detective’s favorite places to travel? if they haven’t traveled, where do they want to go?
sofía – her dream would be going on an archaeology based trip in like peru or something to study the people/culture (basing this off of my archaeology prof in college who’s entire grad school was spent in a spanish speaking country studying the people and writing his thesis)!! i keep mentioning peru bc her faceclaim-but-not-a-faceclaim is peruvian! also yeah i know it sounds like she’s only into learning but tbh if she knows she gains knowledge/experience out of something she doesn’t really look at it as work!! she loves this type of shit
flor – somewhere there’s large festivals!! no doubt she loves booze cruises but she also loves huge gatherings with loud music where time isn’t real SDJKJSDFKS she’d think that coachella is too stuck up so i’m thinking she’s more of a voodoo fest/hangout/bonnaroo type of gal (yes i’m showing my southern side by naming only southeast u.s. festivals) she used to go to raves n shit in high school but calmed down and only goes to legal festivals now LMAO usually with tina! two single gals getting day drunk and sunburnt screaming lyrics to their fav songs u know the vibes <3
ramona – nyc !!! she wants to live there someday! she loves everything about it and definitely romanticizes the hell out of it – she went there once to visit her friend from art school and made her goal moving there <3
dahlia – from the little bit i’ve fleshed out of her i think she’d be a typical traveler! she hasn’t gone anywhere really but fantasizes about going to france and italy and australia and really any place in a tv show or movie that she ends up falling in love with
12. favorite way to cool down?
sofía – frozen yogurt and a cold shower! she’s not huge on water based activities
flor – frozen margaritas & diving headfirst into a lake or pond nearby JSDFKJFDSK
ramona – she’s a huge beach/waterpark/water person but since wayhaven doesn’t have that she’ll swim laps at the local ymca type place and lounge around there. also is not above running through sprinklers and wearing her bathing suit in the bathtub and pretending she’s in a lazy river SKJDFJKSDFK
dahlia – she’s made friends with a couple rich people in wayhaven so she takes dips in their pool when she can
19. did they ever partake in a quick summer romance?
sofía – yeah she tried rebounding after bobby but it didn’t amount to anything. you could argue that mason was a “quick summer romance” for her until she broke it off first hehe
flor – answered before, but YES flor’s hot girl summer era has honestly never stopped LMAO felix’s slowed it down but... it won’t stop for a while
ramona – absolutely JSDFKJKSDF she’s always the dumper, never the dumpee! she’ll woo any person that shows the slightest bit of interest in her, bring them on the best dates of their lives, sleep with them, then hit them with the “we’re better off friends” without realizing how much of a toxic bisexual she is LMAO
dahlia – she’s a “i’ll find my prince/princess charming one day” type of person. she still struggles with labeling her sexuality and isn’t really keen on dragging someone into her turmoil while she’s figuring herself out so! nope! she’s had one night stands but felt guilty after so she stopped that

HI HIIIII can we have 2,14,18 and 19 for flor please!!! <3
HIIIII BECKY THANK U FOR THIS ASK !!!!
2. do they have a favorite summer memory? 💭
oh absolutely – flor hated school, so when she was free from it as a teenager, she was absolutely thriving! since she had even more time to herself she did all the typical small town teen things – road trips, house parties, trespassing onto rural properties, all that jazz. if i had to pinpoint it, i’d say that the summer her and tina became friends and she practically lived at tina’s house, and vice versa! u know that one summer u had as a kid where u were inseparable from that one friend? yeah that was flor n tina the summer before their senior year of hs !!!!
14. does their hairstyle change in the summer? maybe cut it shorter to keep it light or pull it back to keep it breezy? 💇
flor has like no attachment to her hair honestly, so she just does whatever is comfy! her most frequent haircut is one that reaches about her chin (normally tied back in a messy bun/ponytail on the crown of her head), but the lower half is buzzed. tbh i’m absolutely sure that she’s buzzed it off once or twice when she’s really fed up
18. any summer traditions? 🌻
bar crawls. BAR CRAWLS!!! i hc that when her and tina have a night off they drive to the nearest city and get hammered and crash at a nearby motel. they always feel like dogshit after but neither of em care
19. did they ever partake in a quick summer romance? ❤️‍🔥
YES flor’s had many a hot girl summer yup it’s chrew xx !! when they visit the city in the summer tina is her hypewoman and vice versa – tina’s always bagging businessmen at bars and flor’s bagging girls who’ve always wanted to sleep with a woman but were too scared to act on it. felix is the first guy in ages she’s been interested in LMAO even her ex bobby was her first serious girlfriend that started from a quick summer romance!

JADE I LOVE YOU!! also I wanna know do flor or sofia have any tattoos or do they want any?? you already know i love them and just thinking about flor with tats 💆🏻‍♀️ head full
THATS SO SWEET EEEEE THANK U ESME I LOVE YOU MWAH
okay so sofía has always wanted them but she planned on going into the medical field (which didn’t pan out clearly) so she figured she’d just wait till she settled down to make any crazy decisions (because level headed you know) KSDJFKSKSKDFS but she definitely wants to get them!!! i think that with the arc i’m planning for her, she’s gonna crack and do all the things she’s wanted to do since she was a teenager – like get a tattoo! i’m sure it’ll be something involving rook bc she’s a sap :’)
also U ALREADY KNOWWWWW miss flor is a smartass, so when her mom told her she couldn’t get tattoos she went out of her way to get tattoos on places no one could see, so she’s got shoulder, chest, stomach, ribcage, thigh, etc tattoos. not all of them are meaningful – lots of them are stick and pokes and flash tats she got for free on halloween BUT the bigger pieces are more intricate and took hours. when she got her first paycheck after joining the force, she paid for a bigger piece – and bought a LOT of ramen LMAO. she’s planning to get full sleeves at some point, maybe now that she’s a detective she might do it. who knows, she never plans stuff out LMAO

Oh oh! Untitled angsty felix x flor fic for the wip smorgasbord please?🥺
HIIII QUEEN !!!! okay truth be told i haven’t actually written anything down i’ve just daydreamed about it a lot LMAO
so i’ve been testing out a slowburn route with felix and i’m OBSESSED with it – flor is a hard ass and it takes a LOT to get close to her so felix is slowly chipping away at her exterior bc he’s seen how great she can be
okay anyways before i go on their dynamic forever LMAO i chose for her to save felix over sanja [and i got the scary falk ending WHEWWW] and she’s so torn up about sanja dying – i’ve been fantasizing about how it’d affect her in the time after book 2 where she’s kinda left alone with her thoughts after ub’s left. and she hasn’t even started a relationship w felix so she’s like ???? i risked an entire mission for a guy im not even sure if i like – i was planning for her to talk to tina about it and tina’s like :/ flor are you stupid you clearly like him KSDFJKSDJFSJD so she’s forced to confront the beginning of her feelings
ANYWAYS AGAIN THERE’S NOTHING PHYSICAL JUST THE IDEA !!!!
