re: your tags on the gideon vs THK poll, I don't think gid counts as a virgin birth. G1deon didn't say shit about Wake being pregnant because he thought it was his. Although, I guess it would be funny if he lived for ten thousand years and still didn't know how babies happened
And deus apate major confirms that john was definitely involved, even if it wasn't through conventional means. It's not meaningfully different than using a sperm donor and/or a gestational carrier
by virgin birth i just meant that the method of conception wasn't sex. i was dubious about counting it cause yeah, wake's definitely had sex, but if we're looking for Gideon/Jesus parallels the fact that she wasn't conceived by one person having sex with another feels noteworthy. (and you're right that it's no different than using a sperm donor and/or gestational carrier but frankly i think those count those as virgin births too. they're ways to give birth without having sex, after all. they're relatively commonplace so we don't think much of them but they do fit the criteria.)
but like i said, that was a more minor point overall. I think being born as a sacrificial lamb, being the child of god, and dying and coming back with a stigmata are all far more notable.
