I was thinking about the neon future and the deviless would not be immune to the late 90s / early 2000s sparkly bright dress trends

I have some Cerisette sketches. This time, happens in a fairy tale AU.
From left to right: Marinette (Knight), Cerise (Witch/Deviless/Demon Queen) and Adrien ("Princess"*)
*he's a boy

This is the "confrontation" scene.
The Knight Marinette is come to the castle for free the Princess Adrien but she must face Cerise the Witch Deviless and newly owner of the castle (the previous was the "Witch" Gabriel but he's dead (see at the bottom of the post)).
Princess Adrien is the witness/spectator of the battle (In VIP position).
Marinette is planifying her 131st raid/attempt (all the previouses had failed).
The strong fact: Cerise has never tried to eliminate Marinette unlike to the other knights who terribly failed their raids. She has just repelled her. It's because Marinette has managed to dodge all the traps in the castle.
This time, the Knight and the Witch Deviless make a Tie. The two opponents have their weapons (Marinette: Sword and Shield; Cerise: Magical Scepter) both destroyed.
In next moment, Cerise congratulates Marinette and declares Adrien is released from his captivity. The Princess Boy is surprised he can leave the castle (despite the fact Marinette haven't entered to the Adrien's tower room yet).
Cerise doesn't seem interested about continue to fight Marinette. The Deviless comes closer to the Knight and pins her to the wall with a flirtatous tone. First time, Marinette doesn't understand the Cerise's behavior.
Suddenly, Cerise offers a request to Marinette: To accept her wedding confession/to marry her.

During the battles moments in the past, the Deviless Cerise had developped a little crush on the Knight Marinette.
Bonus:

This is the first meeting between Marinette/Knight and Cerise/Witch Deviless.
Cerise hasn't just overthrown Gabriel the Witch (and Adrien's gaoler). She has killed him. When Marinette the Knight has finally entered to the throne room, she is confused and shortly horrified to see the recently murdered Gabriel's bloody corpse who is empaled on many objects. Cerise and Gabriel had previously a fight against each other and Cerise had won.
Marinette had worked her Knight's skills during her trainings. She became the champion of the Kingdom after winning the tournament. She prepared herself to defeat the Witch Gabriel and to rescue Adrien. And now, a new Witch (a Demon girl) she had never seen yet is standing up in front of her.
But Cerise turns her interest about the new "visitor". She sits down on the Gabriel's throne, poses like a Femme Fatale (Basic Instinct vibes) and invites Marinette to come closer to her with a finger gesture (the Deviless Cerise's hands are like Dragon claws and her fingers are claws).
Marinette/Knight: Who are you ? 🤨
Cerise/Witch Deviless: I am the Demon Queen Cerise. The witch Deviless. But you can name me Cerise. 😉😘
Concerning the Adrien's fate:
Marinette/Knight: What happens with the Princess Adrien ? Do you free him from the Witch ? 🤨
Cerise/Witch Deviless: I wouldn't say "free", more like, under new management. 😉😈
I let you find some ideas for how can be happened in the next moment.
I just taken the idea from the Gabriel Agreste episode (4.09). The illustrations of Marc and Nathaniel have been used as models for this sketches.

Mirror Cop Ockham is most definitely a joke. Ockham is no fan of the Constables--they're too close to the military to himherthem. But I'm absolutely using this as an excuse to talk about hishertheir relationship with some of the factions.
Ockham was initially close to the Docks, before slowly growing apart from them in favour of the Bohemians, when Ockham discovered honey and the properties of mirrors. Over the majority of hishertheir time in the Neath, this closeness persisted, but in light of the narrow escape from Parabola the last time, Ockham is going to have to turn over a new leaf and find a new social circle.
Ockham's relationship with the Fingerkings is an exceedingly complicated one. As much animosity exists between them, the fact that a non-insignificant portion of Ockham are them cannot be ignored. Their worldview and actions make perfect sense, and Ockham would've clearly done the same thing in the Cacophony's shoes. This does not make Ockham any less angry about it. If anything, that might just make the situation more infuriating.
Ockham's had dealings on and off with the Criminals and the Revolutionaries (Ockham came to meet the Prehistoricists in the Upper River over a mutual interest in bones), but any contact was situational and transactional, without getting involved any more deeply.
Ockham's involvement with the Church is a weird one. The surface sailor was fairly religious, and even had that stuck in the Neath, the clergy here seems to have strange opinions on Catholics.
Ockham's slowly coming around on Hell. Initially, a pair of devils had made a very bad first impression when what Ockham had assumed was a courtship turned out to be a deceptive business transaction. Moreover, the way the Devil and Deviless had talked about hishertheir soul was extremely offputting. Over time, as Ockham's come to understand the devils better, heshethey've let some of the initial grudge go, though heshethey're still uncomfortable with the attention hishertheir soul seems to get. Every devil seems to be able to see it, but most are polite enough to hold their tongues. As fellow non-humans, Ockham's started to feel more of a kinship with them, as well as the Rubbery Men to an extent. Ockham won't claim to understand either faction, but they have some things in common.
Finally, Ockham does not care much for the Masters. Perhaps this might've not been the case, had their vibes not been so entirely rancid. Trying to assert power over items or dominions is not a good way to endear yourself to Ockham. And then there was that whole mess with the Vake...
#ockham#i kind of feel like hell may be a next logical step for ockham#though it also does depend on hishertheir new profession#rolling it around a bit

Really liking the idea of future!Emery as some sort of analogue to a POTC Davy Jones type figure… You love the sea so much that choices you make bind you to it, it becomes both freedom and confinement while you gradually become less and less human. The parallel of Davy Jones carving out his heart over love and Emery losing their soul to the Quiet Deviless. Becoming a ghost story, a fearsome nautical legend, all this power and yet part of you still feels empty.
“I am the zee” kinda vibes
#also that I’ve previously assigned Davy Jones as accent inspo for emery#oc: the fierce-eyed hunter#I was watching dead man’s chest while drawing emery in outfits and having Thoughts

Hiram, from his professional devil's advocate background, instantly recognized their horrible vibes but he simply decided he had to know more. The devils seemed well connected enough to help him uncover some of the Neath's secrets, and interesting enough to study. He's never been the religious type, so their existence revealed itself to be an interesting matter to look into.
He never trusted a single one of them but he got very close to a certain deviless. He lost his soul, and he doesn't mind the soullessness at all.
He's still very fond of the deviless, and there seems to be a mutual distrustful appreciation between him and the devils in general. They enjoy his parties and he loves meddling in the Embassy's affairs. The soul trade and spirifage businesses are beneficial to both.
(shoutout to the other person in the notes with a character named Hiram, our guys have the exact opposite opinions 🤝)
We're always wanting to talk more about our OCs but it can be difficult to figure out where to start sometimes. Sitting on my porch, I got the idea to run a weekly prompt thing. So here we go!
Week of August 27: How does your oc feel about hell/the devils? How much interaction are they willing to do?
#dude saw the devils and went “oh i can't not romance them”#the devils saw him and they went “oh we can't not bottle his soul”#mutual recognition mutual distrust mutual smooching#LOVING the weekly prompts btw!!

Yuletide letter
(Got enthusiastic and wrote this early. As this is where I’d be posting it anyway…)
Hallo!
Hurrah for shared tastes and all that. Hope you have as much fun writing the fic as I did putting this together.
General DNW list:
Non-con, dubcon, pregnancy, incest, children (any children, don’t want to see ‘em, don’t want to hear about ‘em), queerphobia, Alpha/Omega. No gun use by the heroes.
Dislike:
Feel free to include hanky-panky if that floats your boat, but honestly, I’m just not that interested in the finer details of plumbing. Fade to black is my preferred style.
MacGyver (1985)
(Availability: Amazon Prime)
Do not want: Nothing explicitly supernatural. Absolutely no Sam. Please don’t ship him with Pete; everybody else is fair game for romance.
I'm not looking for crossovers, having been burned on too many Stargate fics that lug in my beloved character just for a joke about duct tape. Not that I have anything against jokes about duct tape! Quite the contrary. But I’d like a MacGyver fic to be about Mac.
That being said, if you are that inexplicable person who agrees with me that the MacGyver characters would map amazingly onto John Le Carre's Karla trilogy, do feel free to write that. (No, really, I wrote up the idea here: https://thatdeepandlovelydark.tumblr.com/post/165773403880/had-a-brainwave-today-rewrite-of-john-le-carr%C3%A9s )
Things I’d like to see….Mac, of course. I’d prefer one other person he’s friends with from the show. There’s this idea that MacGyver’s a heroic loner, and I’ve never agreed with that; even in episodes without the other regulars, he’s always friendly and looking for someone to bond with.
That’s it. I’d hate to dissuade any possible MacGyver fanfiction on the grounds of being too specific.
Though if you want more by way of a prompt than that, I have lots of ideas!
I love writing Pete, but he’s probably a bit dry and bureaucratic for other people. Jack is hugely entertaining. Maybe have him do some piloting if you write him; it’s a good trade-off with Mac being the otherwise wholly more competent one. As for Murdoc…well, there’s already quite a lot of angsty Mac/Murdoc slash out there, I think the fandom’s good on that. Fluff, on the other hand? Fluff I would enjoy.
The girls on the show mostly strike me as poorly written, which I find harder to work with. I never had the time of day for Penny until I ended up needing her for a fic. She’s more fun if you assume she is genuinely blithering, instead of just dumb, and work from there. Nikki largely bores me, though I like the fellow spy dynamic they have going. I do enjoy Deborah, who struck me as having actual chemistry with Mac, and she has an interesting puzzle-box of motives to play with. Mike’s sort of a nonentity; I wouldn’t mind seeing her fleshed out a bit. And Lisa from “Nightmares”, with her macgyving and empathy and smarts, is easily my favourite female character.
I am enormously fond of our hero’s improvisations, but please don’t worry about it if you can’t think of a good one. Especially don’t write a bad one just for the sake of box-checking. A properly-handled domestic scene would be just as nice as an action-adventure. In particular, I have a mild fixation on hunger-related hurt/comfort (Seeking in Fallen London was made of catnip for me), so a two-hander with a famished troubleshooter, some kitchen chemistry and a friend to help out would be just about perfect. That being said, go ahead and write The Big Action Scene, or The Epic Reunion Teamup With Everybody In It, or whatever else if you’d prefer. I’m easy.
Other prompt ideas:
- If you want to write that hoary old chestnut about “oops we accidentally have to get married now for Improbable Reasons”: Jack and Mac all the way! One of the saddest things about small fandoms is the lack of ready crack.
- I have this theory that young Mac n’ Jack n’ Mike went to Swinging London in the 60s. Wot larks!
- Dr Zito is, hands down, the most disturbing villain on the show. He is your go-to if you want to write a deep dark angsty horror-and-suffering fic.
MacBeth has a nice short guide to writing MacGyver; http://bethinexile.livejournal.com/38533.html I concur with most of that, barring inexplicable shirtlessness.
Sunless Sea
(Availability: Steam, Gog)
Do not want: most AUs or crossovers. (Exceptions listed below.) A fic that regurgitates the text of the game proper; I’ve seen this more than once, and the practice annoys me no end. Dick Van Dyke attempts at writing Victorian accents.
Aside from that…will read your story avidly. The more obscure words you can fit in, the better. Feel free to work from a player captain’s perspective; don’t if you don’t want to. I would like one of two characters (you needn’t include both). The Tireless Mechanic utterly fascinates me, and one of the delightful things about Failbetter’s writing is the way in which they balance specific stories with ample room for readers to fill in their own canon. Maybe your version of the Mechanic was addicted to laudanum; maybe he had a lover in Parabola, before he took his engine design home. Maybe he actually likes fungal crackers. I don’t know! Surprise me!
Alternatively, I have an abiding fondness for the Wistful Deviless. She intrigues me, I feel her story isn’t complete (either past or present), and I’m unlikely to get to her in the massive fic-cycle I have going. It’d be nice to see more. Chuck in some romance if you want.
Other prompt ideas:
- I have written four different perspectives on Seeking/Going North already. I think there’s room for a lot more in this world. Feel free to go dark/cannibalistic/blackandveryverydarkgrey/etc.
- What is Whither like when strangers aren’t there? Do they still speak in riddles? How does this society function? How long has it been there? Can you write a whole fic entirely made of questions?
- Stupid crossovers: the Deviless is Missy, popped over from the DW universe to take a break and be a bee for a while. Twelfth Doctor cameo not unwelcome.
I also had this wacky idea about the Mechanic being a Surface spy with a mullet. But then, who’d be crazy enough to write that one…
So (Peter Gabriel)
(Availability: Amazon, Itunes, decent music shop)
DNW: Aside from the general list? Go hog wild.
For donkey’s years I’ve been saying to myself that “So” is a concept album in disguise and I ought to sit down and write out its chronicle. “Big Time” - that’s the young lad dreaming of going to the city, “Red Rain” is when he’s rethinking this decision after the ghastly events of “We Do What We’re Told”, “Don’t Give Up” is the lady in his life encouraging him, and so forth…. Sort the songs into proper chronological order, tell the bits of narrative that come in between, and bob’s your uncle!
Extra points if you agree with me that it’s set in some kind of Moorcock/Zardoz end-of-time kind of deal, because that’s the vibe I get from it.
Hope you didn’t mind wading through all that too much. Looking forward to the result.
Thanks for the fic!

Finished dinner, so let the cricket match begin!

Oh he is so involved in some sort of intrigue. It’s giving Great Game vibes but we haven’t had any mention of it yet, and there are certainly some hellish things going on around here, so he could be an agent of some sort for them

It’s interesting that the number four has come back again. I didn’t think that much of it initially (used to seven being the important number), but no way it’s a coincidence. It also came up when talking to the Deviless, her walking four steps, the pattern in which might be making Correspondence sigil? Or something else that led to the Cricketer’s state. Atm she’s my top suspect, though her motive so far alludes me

A lot has occurred during my investigations, to much to jot down here, so I’ll stick to the important things and my theories
It seems the Deviless is using an infernal language instead of Correspondence. Though I’m still trying to decipher why she did what she did, but I think that’ll come together when I figure out who she’s truly working for
The Cricketer has ties to the Great Game and is working as a spy in the Neath. That likely has something to do with her affliction, though I’m not sure if the Benthic Captain was working with her or against her. In his lab he was decoding bat-wing flap codes, but was he intercepting them, or making them? He also mentioned being a part of why the Cricketer was able to join the University, but was that for Game purposes or him simply being tricked? There were also mentions of getting some sort of confession
Speaking of, the Benthic Captain has been looking into Celestial Law and how it can be applied to extract a confession, and he also took one of the restricted books he was reading. He and the Benthic Captain are possibly working together, and potentially against the Cricketer after finding out her Game involvement
The Deviless is still my main suspect for who injured the Cricketer, though I still don’t understand her motivations. She could be working for either of the captains for whatever they’re up to, but for now… I need to investigate more
Feeling a little silly. A little goofy. Might live blog Cricket, Anyone?

24 for His Excellency. :)
- @t6fs
24. What would your OC's pizza delivery order look like? Are they good at ordering pizza? How good do they tip?
I'm assigning him my trait of being the guy who orders for all his friends, because of his Speech 100 stat. He's very precise when describing and listing the orders and he always makes sure to leave a good tip. He would probably get a simple margherita for the classy vibes, or share a diavola with the Deviless. It would have obliterated his taste buds in his youth but he has enough KT to handle capsaicin now.

#i checked the diavola name has been around since at least the 1880s so the doodle is historically accurate#thanks for the ask!#everyone in the neath deserves a good pizza#oc asks#hiram x deviless#doodles

The fact that Hiram mostly wears masc clothing and the Deviless has a femme vibe in my headcanon is so funny because at a first glance they look like a basic cishet couple for victorian standards (anachronisms and scandal aside). But if you look closer he's the fruitiest most unhinged dandy you will ever meet, and she's an alien. His gender is campy goth and her gender is literal bees.
#also he's married to an enby pirate#polycule of all time#hiram x deviless#it's important to me that traditional gender is meaningless in their relationship

2 for both of them
2. Name five songs they would listen to/enjoy.
Hiram:
East Thirty-Second by Lennie Tristano. He likes fast jazz.
Poker by Charles Aznavour. He likes fast lyrics too.
I Had Too Much to Dream (Last Night) by The Electric Prunes. I'm giving him some 60s psych vibes for enrichment.
Le veau d'or from Gounod's Faust. It's one of the most headbanging opera tunes ever, and one of his favourites since it came out.
Chills and Fever by Tom Jones. I need everyone to imagine Hiram (in a 70s suit) and the Deviless (in a sparkly 90s dress) dancing to this song in a disco.
Helena:
The Swindler's Ballad by Worldwide Adventure. It's a 22 minutes long sea shanty, and she adores storytelling ballads.
Remember Something Beautiful by Machinery of the Human Heart. She needs to hear this one I think.
Lannigan's Ball, in all its various iterations from the late 1800s to the modern day. She likes to sing it with Morgan and Hiram.
Victoria's Secret by The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing. It's a punk song about zombie prince Albert. She would find it hilarious.
Danke Schoen by Rio Romeo. She would looove her voice.

Rewriting my previous tags because they deserve their own post: Hiram's parabolan base is somewhere in the Edict of Towers.
The mirrors from Is Someone There? and the battlements from A Game of Chess fit perfectly into the overall picture, and the pseudo-medieval aesthetic of the Red Court has the same eerie vibe. The place is isolated and empty so Hiram has plenty of privacy to scheme and conduct research and think about the Chessboard. Ideal lair.
Plus, Hell is just around the corner if the Deviless comes to visit <3
#sorry to everyone who needs to hire the red knight in parabola. you need to go through the fucked up escherian maze to meet him#also this means that his one and only neighbour is the mandolinist so it's gonna be real fun to see how the plot unfolds >:)#hiram hargrave#hiram lore#the red knight#fantasy au
