more things i have noticed about the depths in totk, bc i am secretly Josha’s understudy:
-canyon mines are where it’s at for zonaite mining. the big mines are all depleted(thanks Kohga and Yiga, yall suck :c), but the canyon mines, which tend to be at the same coordinates as mountain peaks, just in the depths, typically have a decent cache of zonaite ore deposits, and they seem to respawn with regularity. i assume with the blood moon, but i haven’t fully tested that theory.
-obviously any big monster camps typically are also around a ton of zonaite ore, but that requires fighting monsters. which, sometimes you just wanna peruse the depths in peace, you know? also, FROX. every frox not only has zonaite deposits growing out of its back, but also is usually around an otherwise unmanned cluster of ore.
-once you get the yiga clan outfit from their three new surface hideouts, you can literally just walk into every yiga hideout, including all the ones in the depths. it is INCREDIBLY satisfying to just walk in and merc everyone while they think you’re an ally. the fact that kohga himself is the only one able to see through the disguise is hilarious to me. also, there’s a FUCKTON of extra bananas, arrows, and brightbloom seeds in all the boxes and barrels in these hideouts too.
-the yiga hideouts also have a ton of interesting autobuild schemas! i’m definitely going to be employing some of these in the final fight against ganondorf when i finally do that. also, one of them has a fishing trawler, and i’m super interested in trying that out. i fucking love fishing in this game but it can get tedious unless you spam lightning arrows, and that’s a bit more costly in this one than it was in botw. (update: the fishing trawler absolutely fucks, use it)
-when you unlock all the bargainer statues, you gain the ability to buy back rare weapons you’ve gotten in the game, like magic rods or stuff like the Fierce Deity’s Sword. i keep most of my rare weapons on a weapon stand in my dream home, but for those of yall that use them, they’re not just one-time objects and that’s lovely.
-i highly recommend unlocking at least two great fairies and upgrading the depths clothing set and the mining clothing set at least twice. the depths set gets an extra heart of gloom resistance, and the mining set gets an upgrade called “shining steps”, which basically gives you the ability to “leave” some light on the ground where you walk. it’s insanely useful if you’re low on brightbloom seeds!

*peace signs on in, hands you a mug of tea, refuses to elaborate* 'Sup.
Sleep deprived idea because that trailer left me too feral (plus the fact I'll probably hold on stuff for Fia, Una and Dia until I have every single lore bit of TOTK injected into my veins and that also doesn't help)
Imagining Player humming this to themselves and the Chain after every blood moon in Wild's Time, and at least Wild and Time being incredibly delighted/hysterical, specially if they heard the original lyrics:
https://youtu.be/HPRluY5YZCY
Bonus points if at any point they just end up forgetting where they were and just manage to belt out the high notes like a professional opera singer or something and it just registers to Wild and Time as a seraned or something. Or the plot twist: they hummed it at some point during Time as Mask's very bad, awful, no good three days in Termina to cope with the trauma (come on, the Termina moon is genuinely nightmare fuel if you're not an horror fan specially with the implications) or during a Blood Moon on Wild's Time, and Time still hums or sings the lyrics to this day to himself, and Wild also does whenever a blood moon happen to cope and turns out the way they're all united is not through Twilight or Player being the Guide or something, it's just through shared Moon is Haunted ™ Trauma that no one in the Chain really registers and it drives them up the wall while Wild, Player and Time are basically the shaking hands meme, specially after that gigantic blood moon in TOTK. Even more bonus points if hilariously enough the way Time or Warriors remembers Player is the Guide is because Wild and or/Player hummed that song nonchantly, and Time remembers humming it with Player as Mask or maybe playing it on the ocarina or Warriors remembers Mask and Player hummed that song together whenever they saw a full moon in the sky.
Also, Hyrule being Peter Pan is too accurate and good, and also consider: Player has their phone with them right? And it apparently has plenty of battery life? Imagine if they have the classic Disney movies downloaded, and they have Hyrule watch Peter Pan with them, just a thought, and it accidentally turns into a movie watching marathon with the Chain (I think Wind would like Moana, and imagine showing Mononoke Hime to Wild). Although they might have to explain how the moving images work as opposed to pictures like Wild's Slate take.
Something something. Sleep deprived au that came to me in a dream: Player but the longer they stay in Hyrule as the Guide and move through various time periods the more eldritch they become due to the very nature of the guide as a possible deity and/or the world loving the Guide as much as the Guide loves the LoZ world idk.
Anyway, hope you have a nice day and have fun when TOTK comes out! Sadly I do not have a Switch myself so I'll live vicariously through all people who play it!
-A Very Sleep Deprived and Awkward Summertime Musician.
Player bullying the moon has become one of my favourite Player memes at this point.
They're gotta protect their boys and just the image of them standing in front of a full moon like "I'M GONNA COME UP THERE AND BLOW YOU UP, JUST LIKE THE ASTRONAUTS SHOULD HAVE DONE DECADES AGO!!" Does it confuse the rest of them? Yes, it sure does, but they're not stopping.
Also Player mid movie pausing and just pointing to Peter Pan with Hyrule like "That's you." And he would proceeds to raid the Vet's stuff for a thimble so he can make an amazing and corny kiss joke
And for your sleep deprived au?....Wink, wink, nudge, nudge
HOPE YOU'RE WELL SUM!

Hi hi hi :D
My header was gettin crowded so I figured I might as well just make an intro post lmao.
Welcome!
My name is Curly! You can call me Curly, or becauseplot, or bp, or bitchass---anything along those lines will do <3
I use he/she/they pronouns (in no particular order, go nuts) and I am not a minor!
Below the cut: interests, style of posting, tags list/system, ao3, and more! (Important bits are bolded!)
Tumblr media
[x]
The things I'm Normal:tm: about
QSMP remains a background interest of mine but it's still beloved. Faves are qphilza (rly just ANY philza rp characters) and qcellbit. I also love DSMP, TotK, and BotW. Sometimes I'll jumpscare you with a Sherlock Holmes post just because. (Holmes and Watson have my whole heart. They <3)
I'm also in the middle of watching Ordem Paranormal! I've watched AOP, OSNF, and am making my way through OPD. Liz my beloved.
I am nothing if not long-winded (if you couldn't already tell from the length of this lmaooooo)
I like+reblog+tag pretty much EVERYTHING. So sorry if I clutter your notifs, I just have the inexplicable urge to add Every Post to my Hoard.
I talk a lot in tags. Like, a LOT. Also, my posts have a tendency to ramble. I have thoughts and internet access and that is a very ill-advised combination <3
I do swear a lot!!! Always know that if I'm swearing I am never genuinely mad/upset I do it for the funnies and the funnies only.
#organized (not really)
I do have a tagging system but it's kinda!! Wonky!!! I'll organize it one of these days I swear. For the most part, if you want stuff (qsmp-related) I've saved on...
a specific character: "q![character]" (yes even the npcs like the eggs)
duos: "[______] duo" (or their ~special~ duo name, ex "codebreakers", "crimeboys", etc)
shipping content: the ship name lmao
clips: "qsmp clips for the soul"
funny/neat in-game/webcam screenshots: "qsmp reaction images"
I also save stuff about major arcs and special events under specific tags, so keep an eye out for these too:
"qsmp festa junina"
"qsmp spiderbit wedding"
"qsmp election event" (stuff to do with the whole election arc)
"qsmp dinner event" (the election dinner with the imposter eggs)
"egg-napping part 3" (posts to do with the egg disappearances, mainly the first few days and the black concrete)
"happy all the time" (happy pills arc)
"a dose of reality" (the end/aftermath of the happy pills arc)
"q viva mexico" (mexican independence day event)
"qsmp dia de muertos"
"qsmp purgatory"
"qsmp purg finale" (or 11/18, what we thought was a finale)
"purg 2 electric boogaloo" / "qpurgatory 2" (AWWW SHIT HERE WE GO AGAIN)
"@v@" (qforever possession stuff)
qsmp prison event
q2024 opening (YOOO HAPPY NEW YEAR)
A couple other tags!
"qmongus" (qsmp amongus lobby)
"qoutlast" (qsmp plays outlast trials)
"qtwitter” (twitter posts, usually does NOT include event updates tho)
“qsmp event updates” (HERE are the event updates!)
"twitchcon paris" (mostly stuff about qsmp cc's meeting up)
"qsmp brazil meetup"
"qsmp vegas meetup"/"twitchcon vegas"
"qsmp french alps meetup"
“streamer awards 2024”
"fruit mountain tournament" (cellbit's fruit mountain tournament!)
"qpositivity" (positive posts praising qsmp, for when the discourse and neg gets to be too much <3 )
Another random tag I have: "the dynamic of all time" - Posts that give me vibes of a character/relationship dynamic but nothing specific enough to tag it as a given character. I just think they're neat :]
I've watched O Segredo na Floresta! Most of my posts about it are tagged under “curlyosnf”
COME SHOUT AT ME
YOU HEARD ME. ASKS ARE OPEN. TALK TO ME!!!
Bear in mind you might get a wall of text in response. You have been warned.
I remember my ao3 login sometimes
My ao3 is BecausePlot! I haven't been super active recently, but if you're interested in some of my stuff, here's a list of my 10 favorite works atm, from most to least recent <3
Relative (QSMP x Ordem au) (au is tagged: "TWLITFAU")
The Calm (Spiderbit fluff)
Miss Me? (f!Cell shows up at f!Felps' apartment)
Waking Up On The Wrong Side of the Bed (c!Phil in QSMP)
Insanity (q!Cellbit character study)
An.G.E.L.S. (OSMP x Antarctic Empire, Military au)
Danse Macabre (Parentsduo <3)
But You're Not Yourself (c!Phil and c!Techno raising c!Wilbur)
A Helping Hand (Phil gets adopted by a flock of crows)
Take My Hand (Retelling of the handcuff scene from BBC Sherlock: Reichenbach Fall)
Leaving a comment on the fic itself or in my askbox is the best way for me to talk to you and say thank you for reading! Let me appreciate you ya nerd!!
Other Schtuff
My pfp is from GranadaTV's Sherlock Holmes adaptation (with Jeremy Brett), specifically the episode The Greek Interpreter.
My banner is by wolfythewitch (from the Creature animatic I think?? I honestly don't remember lmao.)
My favorite color is green (if you couldn't tell), my favorite animal is horse, my favorite flower is dandelion, my favorite imagery to play with in writing is space/universe/atoms/stars/etc, I'm studying mechanical engineering and physics, I do shitty drawings on super rare occasions, and, last but not least,
If you are a dick about anything you will simply be blocked.
Peace and love on planet earth <3
If you have any questions, send an ask! I hope you enjoy your stay :Drl

some spoiler-y thoughts about tears of the kingdom thus far:
-FUCK GLOOM HANDS. i hate that everyone at nintendo saw our fear of spooky grabby hands and said “fuck yeah lets keep doing this forever”. i’m tired of being groped by very old men goddamnit! and then some of them turn into Phantom Ganon???? holy shit, that is a difficult fight. 80% of my deaths in the game so far have been at the hands(no pun intended) of these fuckers.
-ZELDA TURNED HERSELF INTO A FUCKING DRAGON AND I SOBBED LIKE A BABY. bruh i was not ready. SHE SACRIFICED HERSELF and her personality! but like, i havent finished all the main quests even though i got all the dragon tears/memory things so like, if Zelda IS a dragon, then who the fuck is showing up all around hyrule looking like her? is Mr. Dorf doing an evil magic to look like her like in that one memory? that can’t possibly be the case for all of the Zelda sightings. i’m so confused but so fucking intrigued.
-seriously though, watching Zelda sacrifice herself in order to save Hyrule and support Link is so upsetting. this girl was 16 the day the Calamity hit, and she hasn’t known a moment’s peace since then. give a bitch a break! but hey, at least she’s doing stuff in this one, whereas in most Zelda games, she’s just.... kidnapped.
-SIDON’S ENGAGEMENT STORY IS BULLSHIT. there is ZERO evidence of any other kingdoms existing for Zora outside of the Domain in Lanayru that King Dorephan rules over, it’s JUST to piss off people who ship Sidon with Link and that’s incredibly homophobic and annoying(especially since i had to fucking rewrite an entire part of my OC’s story due to it). and like, i feel bad, bc Yona seems like a lovely character, but she’s going to be HATED in the fanbase bc of the bad writing.
-speaking of questionable writing, there’s still so much i’m very fucking confused about. TotK obviously takes place several years after BotW, but they don’t specify how many and it creates a lot of confusion. why have some characters obviously aged up but some are still basically the same age? like, Hudson and Rhondson have a child who’s old enough to be sent back to Gerudo town, but Finley never hit her growth spurt(even though she clearly stated last game she was old enough to have supposed to hit it by botw)? what the fuck is that about?
-also, WHERE THE FUCK DID THE DIVINE BEASTS GO????? you can’t re-bury four fucking giant robot constructs in the span of maybe a decade, especially with Ganondorf reviving and creating a massive earthquake that unearths a fuckton of other shit. like, not having the Sheikah Slate i get(which is why the Purah Pad exists), and all the shrines and towers probably went back underground, but that part makes no goddamn sense and i don’t like it.
-i’m kinda sad Teba wasn’t the Sage of Wind and instead it was his son, Tulin. he really only got to shine in Age of Calamity, and most Zelda fans didn’t even play it bc it’s non-canon. the disrespect on my poor mans.
-i do love that so many of the towns are under new leadership now. it really feels like the world is evolving in that aspect. Teba and Paya being in charge of their respective towns is lovely to me.
-i love the idea that Link gave Zelda the house he dumped literally thousands of rupees into in Hateno, but like. where did he live? did they sleep together in the same bed? it’s implied Link no longer has a house bc you can make your “dream home” in Tarrey Town or w/e but like, ????? what’s that all about? Zelda just kicked Link’s ass out and made a secret room in the home HE invested in lmao, typical royal colonizer behavior(joking)
-i love that Grante, Robbie and Jerrin’s son, changed his name to Granteson so he could work for Bolson Construction. that’s genuinely adorable. he was already one of my fav tertiary characters just bc he’s Robbie’s son but this makes me like him even more. i also love that Jerrin is involved with stuff at the Lookout Landing! let Robbie’s wifey take care of stuff. even if it’s just cleaning. give her something to do besides glower at a machine her husband built lol.
-Kohga being still alive is hysterical, and the Yiga clan evolving to live partially underground is a lovely touch. them taking over old abandoned areas in the game is great as well. i also love that they flat-out do the “leave Mighty Bananas on the ground as bait to lure in unsuspecting victims” bit bc that’s EXACTLY how i imagined my OC fought them in BotW. i totally headcanon they stole that idea from her.
-tbh i’m kind of enjoying exploring the depths more than i am the sky islands. maybe it’s the fear of heights, or maybe it’s just that i really like that it wasn’t advertised at all. i thought it was just gonna be land and sky, but no! we’re going underground too babey~
-i love the addition of caves, wells, and other underground spaces. it makes a lot of sense for a game like this to have these things, and it makes me kinda sad they weren’t really a thing in the last one.
-the fusing thing is just okay. they didn’t really fix the issue people had with durability in the last game, so that’s annoying, but it is fun to make new weapons out of things at least.
-overall i really like the game so far. even though it’s a world most people have explored through already, there’s enough change and new content to make it fresh and engaging, and even though there’s another crisis, it’s heartwarming to see how people are finally being able to rebuild after the century-long crisis that was the Calamity. i’ve beaten one boss character so far(the Rito one) and i’m looking very forward to the rest!

Shrines are done. Almost every piece of armor is fully upgraded. All sage's wills have been collected. My inventory is maxed out. My weapon slots are full of the hardest hitting, most pristine weapons I could find, fused with silver lynel and molduga parts. My food pack is full of recipes made on the blood moon, and a bunch of roasted food for extra health. I almost have 100 of each zonai device, and my battery is fully maxed out.
I am very close to finally finishing the game and wrecking Ganondorf's shit :)

I am almost done turning Link into a weapon of mass destruction. 2/3rds of the shrines are finished, my weapon slots are maxed out and both shields and bows aren't far behind, I've been farming hella monsters to the point where most of my outfits are either fully upgraded or on their last push for upgrades, and I've amassed a collection of silver lynel horns for weapon fusion, as well as a small army of zonai constructs.
Ganondorf, your days are fucking numbered, buddy.

I still haven't finished the final battle in totk yet.
I know bc botw's final boss sucked, they're going to go all out with the battle beneath Hyrule castle. So I'm powering myself up as much as I can before finally going down there. I have most(if not all) of the shrines unlocked, but I only have 77/152 done. I also have two more sage's wills to collect(fucking King Gleeoks, man. I might just see if the ancient blades work like ancient arrows from the last game), and a lot more korok seeds to collect. I'm hoarding weapons in my dream home, which is more of an armory than a home at this point. I've already powered up several of these weapons through letting Rock Octoroks suck them up and fix them, and fused them with super strong stuff. I'm also trying to finish upgrading all my useful armor for bonus power and defense upgrades, and stockpiling a FUCKTON of zonai capsules to make murder machines.
I'm going to wage fucking war against this clown. You made my favorite girl turn herself into an unfeeling beast against her will, I'm sending you back to hell with everything I can throw at you.
All that being said, I'm not looking forward to shrine grinding lmao

zolda spoilers(specifically about the depths):
man, going to the gerudo underground cemetary in the depths was terrifying. fuckin. i thought i dealt with all the gibdos, but no, gibdo jumpscare. and i know it’s probably just for gameplay affect, but man, all the gloom in that area, which is literally a(probably sacred) underground burial for important gerudo figures? really get the impression dude doesn’t like his own people. he was their king, that sucks so much compared to like, rhoam and rauru.
also, barring like, three more minimal lightroots(one of which is at a labyrinth and one directly under hyrule castle), i have the entire depths mapped out.
some fun areas to find are the aforementioned cemetary, the “dark”skeletons(see: even bigger whale skeletons in the depths that are in the same relative areas as the ones on the surface), ALL the mines(there are so many goddamn mines, like obviously yes there’s the big ones under towns but theres so many others!), all the coliseums(i have not gone into the coliseums lmao), blupee burrow(i’ll let yall figure out where that one is, it’s obvious if you think about it), and the ancient observation deck under tuft mountain.
and of course, the bargainer statues, which i have SO MANY QUESTIONS about.

People of Hyrule: Zelda is missing and everything is in chaos, monster attacks are worse than ever, shit's falling from the sky like mfing chicken little, and there's a substance worse than Malice in these weird holes in the ground--
Me: yeah I'm mapping that underground hell labyrinth out rn
People of Hyrule: ....but all the other stuff--
Me: shut up and look at how many batteries I have on my belt

Some of the writing in this game is so weird. I'm going to have to look through The Timeline™️ and all my lore books to see where, when, and how a lot of this shit fits with the established story.
But then, Zelda writing has never been 100% solid, since Nintendo themselves have constantly said they prioritize gameplay over story. It annoys me as a lore nerd but, what can you do about it? 🤷

So far I think my main gripe about Tears of the Kingdom is that they didn't bring back Erik Braa to voice master Kohga. He did such an amazing job in Age of Calamity, and when I saw Kohga in totk I was hoping to high heaven he'd finally get some speaking lines in a mainline Zelda game. Sadly it wasn't to be, and I think it was a missed opportunity.
If you missed Age of Calamity, I highly suggest going to watch some of Kohga's speaking lines in it, it turned him from a one-note joke of a boss fight to a hilarious and almost endearing character. You really get a feel for why the Yiga clan reveres him so much, and every time he's on screen it's entertaining.

More spoilery Zelda thoughts:
-I WANT LORE ON THE BARGAINER STATUES SO BAD. Who built them? Who made their bodies so damn big? Were they made at all, or are they just like. Weird fossilized spirits? Why are there inexplicably two smaller, head-only versions(possibly more I am unaware of) hanging out on the surface? I know Josha's was probably recovered from the depths directly but what about the one in the Great Plateau? WHAT IS THEIR DEAL I WANNA KNOW PLS I AM BEGGING
-i really just am completely obsessed with Josha, bc she really reminds me exactly of how I've imagined my OC Calli would behave if I put her in this universe. It's quite funny honestly, how entirely similar they are, down to the excitability and gullibility.
-i am having a lot of fun figuring out how my OC Koro fits into the story. So much to consider! granted im having to redo quite a bit of the stuff i established in botw, but hey, sequels, amirite? i'll need to update her writeup when i can. i can say definitively that she and Sidon split up(obviously) but she ended up with her old childhood/teen friend Grante(who now goes by Granteson, which i love lol), and she's super close with Josha, who reminds her of her passed sister.
-i love that you can ride on the dragons now. especially now that i know the origin of the Light Dragon, i like to imagine Link, though he's not much of a talker, takes to riding her around Hyrule and just, tells her how everyone's doing, and how much they miss her. i'm currently sat on her head so i can farm dragon parts and it always makes me sad lol
-i am still having WAY more fun in the Depths than i am in the Sky Islands lol. i have probably a good 70% of the lightroots activated at this point? im mostly just trying to find all of those before i really get to properly exploring.
-i have all the main quests finished up to what i assume will be the final fight against Ganondorf. THIS GAME GIVES YOU A FUCKIN ROBIT HELL YEAH. also i love having all the sages unlocked bc you can just gang up on any creature in hyrule and it fucks.
-still havent gone up against a Gleeok proper yet, though. they scare the shit out of me lmfao. too stronk.
-the return of Puppet Zelda has been a great touch, and without her narration, the blood moon is even spookier imo. just silence, and then monsters reanimating. oof.
-the Frox down in the Depths are interesting to me. they dont do Gloom damage like almost every enemy down there, which implies they might be the only native creature to the Depths? very fascinating!
