Cereal Redux
Diana stared at Averia.
Averia stared at Diana.
Smiling, Averia reached for the milk... only to pick up the juice instead. Maintaining eye contact the entire time, she poured the juice into her bowl, added her cereal on top of it... and then smiled.
It took both Lightning and Fang to restrain Diana.

Cereal (Final Rose)
Diana sensed a shift in the very foundations of the universe. Somewhere, out there, somebody was pouring their cereal wrong. Focusing every bit of Aura she could muster, she extended her senses out to determine where and who was committing such an atrocity.
It was Averia.
She hurried into the dining room and then leapt onto the table.
"What are you doing?" she blurted, jabbing one finger at her older sister.
Averia looked up from her bowl full of milk and then poured the cereal into it. "What?"
"Gah!" Diana dropped off the table and convulsed on the floor. Since this was hardly the first time she'd done that, Averia poked her once with her foot, ascertained that she wasn't actually having a seizure, and then used her spoon to push her cereal into the milk.
"Could you not do that here? I'm trying to eat."
Diana got back onto her feet. "How can you add milk to the bowl first? Do you have any idea how insane that is? You need to add the cereal first and then add the milk. Anything else is lunacy."
"..." Averia turned away and started to eat her cereal.
"Mom!" Diana cried as Lightning came into the dining room with a bowl. "Averia puts her milk in..."
She trailed off as Lightning took the milk, poured it into her bowl, and then added the cereal on top.

The Possum (Final Rose)
Diana glared at the possum on the fence. "There's only enough room on this fence for one of us."
The possum hissed.
"Yeah? Bring it on!"
"Hmm..." Lightning glanced out the window. "Fang, Diana is fighting an animal again."
"Is it one of the raccoons?"
"No. I think it's a possum."
"A possum? That's new. Is she winning?"
The possum was clinging onto Diana's head and gnawing on her skull. Diana finally managed to pull the possum off and brandished her rake at it menacingly.
"Hmm... it's pretty even."

Paintball (Final Rose)
"I've got you now, mom!" Diana crowed as she raised her gun and fired. "Take this!"
Lightning watched the paintball shoot toward her. It was painfully slow. She could dodge actual bullets and rail gun projectiles, so the chances of her getting hit by a paintball were basically zero. Her lips curved. Should she do something obnoxious?
Yeah, why not.
Reaching out, she caught the paintball with her index finger and thumb without breaking it... before flicking it back at Diana.
Splat.
Diana blinked and then reached up to check her helmet. There was paint all over it.
"Hey!" Diana wailed. "That's cheating!" She looked around. "Mommy, mom cheated!"
Fang sighed. "Lightning, stop picking on Diana."

Garden Maintenance (Final Rose)
Diana raised her weapon and glared. "Today is the day you go down!"
Averia raised her own weapon and glared back. "You're still way too tiny to beat me, twerp."
Fang took a sip of her lemonade and leaned back in her chair. "That's right, kids. Fight for the glory and honour of being the champion of gardening day."
Diana cleared her throat.
"Ah. Right. The Ultra Mega Supreme Super Infinite Champion of Gardening Day." Fang raised an eyebrow at Diana. "You don't think that's a little bit redundant?"
The little girl shook her head. "It only makes it more awesome." She brandished her rake. "Now, prepare to be defeated, villain!"
"You know," Averia pointed out. "You're the one threatening me with a rake. If anything that makes you the villain."
"I can't be the villain. I'm too small and adorable to be the villain. You're way bigger, and your glare is heaps scarier, so that makes you the villain."
Averia glared.
"You're not exactly proving her wrong," Fang drawled.
Averia glared again.
"Yeah. No. Your mother glares at me all the time. She's scary. You? It's like watching a puppy try to imitate a wolf."
Averia glared yet again but with even greater power.
"Try again in... ten, no, twenty years, and maybe I'll be worried."
Averia prepared to glare even harder, but Diana seized the opportunity to strike.
"Cool! I get a free attack! Hah!"
In a great display of honour and mercy, Diana aimed her rake at Averia's side instead of going for the head. Truly, she was a benevolent child.
Alas, in an even great display of agility, Averia somehow managed to bend backward in time to avoid the strike completely. Diana gaped in disbelief as her strike missed and her overextension left her fully exposed to Averia's counter attack.
The older girl righted herself and smiled, and her rake came swinging down.
"Ah!" Diana dropped her rake and raised her hands. "Don't pick on me!"
A lifetime (albeit only nine years of life so far) of instinct compelled Averia to pull her strike... which allowed Diana to pick up her rake and whack Averia in the leg.
"Hah!" Diana cheered. "I hit you first! I win! I am the Ultra Mega Supreme Super Infinite Champion of..." She trailed off as a terrifying chill crept down her spine.
"You little twerp," Averia growled, rake raised menacingly. "Prepare to be whacked!"
Diana took one look at her sister's expression and decided to run for it.
"Ah!"
Fang sipped on more lemonade and smiled as her two children ran around the front yard.
"Could you three stop fooling around!" Lightning said.
Fang, Diana, and Averia all froze.
"We're supposed to be tidying up the garden!" Lightning glared, and even Fang recoiled. "Stop fooling around and get to work!"

Camouflage (Final Rose)
"..."
Lightning stared. She wasn't sure whether to laugh at the sheer idiocy of what she was seeing or be pleased by Diana's audacity.
In a bid to avoid detection, Diana had decided that camouflage was the way to go. How? By making an incredibly convincing raccoon suit that let her blend in with all of her raccoon minions.
There was just one problem.
As small as Diana was, she was still way bigger than a raccoon. The end result was a Diana-sized raccoon whose sheer size made her seem vaguely nightmarish.
"Diana," Lightning said at last. "You need to change out of that suit right now."
Naturally, it was only three days later when Diana turned up with a Lightning-sized raccoon suit. Apparently, Diana was convinced that Lightning had only asked her to change because she was jealous of how awesome her raccoon suit was.
Lightning did her best to hide it, but Fang found it.
One thing led to another, and that Halloween saw a Lightning-sized raccoon wandering the neighbourhood.
Fang laughed her ass off until Diana showed up, puppy-dog eyes at full power, with a second raccoon-suit just for her. The only one spared was Averia... and only because Diana had a squirrel suit for her.

Costume (Final Rose)
"You two..."
Lightning trailed off as she saw what costumes Diana and Fang would be wearing for trick-or-treating.
Diana was going as... Ragnarok.
And Fang?
She was going as Ragnarok too.
"I can't believe you two are just going as your Semblances." Lightning cleared her throat. "Averia, come on. We're about to..."
Averia came down the stairs. She might only have awakened it a few months ago, but that hadn't stopped her from deciding to go trick or treating as Saviour.
"I can't even..." Lightning sighed.

Next door...
Sephiroth smiled as his beloved pet tortoise brandished the miniature Masamune he held in his mouth. The tortoise was also wearing a specially tailored outfit that mimicked Sephiroth's iconic clothing from his younger days.
"Perfect."
"Father," Jihl drawled as the rest of their family cooed over Mako. "Did you really have to dress him up as you? Isn't that a bit... odd?"
"Not at all." Sephiroth pointed out the window. "Just look at the Yun-Farrons."
Jihl blinked. Lightning was the only one who'd made an effort to dress up. The pink-haired woman appeared to be dressed as a hedgehog. But the rest of her family? They'd just chosen to use their Semblances.
"Ah. In that case, I withdraw my objection."
Happy Halloween!

Barnacle (Final Rose)
"You know, at some point, you're going to have to let go to use the bathroom."
Averia was doing her best to watch television with Diana clinging onto her back like a spiky-haired barnacle.
Diana nuzzled Averia's cheek happily. "Not really. I don't go to the bathroom unless I want to."
"..." Averia turned her head. "Are you serious?"
Diana made a happy sound. "Yep! Ragnarok digests everything."
"But you go to the bathroom every morning..."
"Only because I feel like it." Diana shrugged. "Mommy says my body still produces some waste because I want it to... it helps me feel more normal. But that doesn't have to happen unless I want it to."
"..." Averia sighed. "Diana, get off my back."
"Never!"

The Boisterous Battle Bunny (Final Rose x Pokemon)
Buneary loved to fight. None of her siblings had been like her, and her parents had been different too. They had been all about avoiding trouble or running away from it. Her? She wanted to run up to trouble and kick it in the face!
She had tried to find trainers before. But none of them had wanted a Buneary. Well... maybe a few of them had, but there had been something very weird about them that had told her it would be better if she avoided them. Later, she'd realise how fortunate she'd been and how very... odd humans could be when it came to her evolved form.
But the moment she saw the girl wrestling with a Magikarp, she knew she'd found her trainer. After all, the girl was crazy. The Magikarp had the strength of dozens of normal Magikarps and was doing his absolute best to ram the girl into next week. But the girl had him in a headlock and was busy punching him in the face over and over again.
Even after the Magikarp evolved into a Gyarados, the girl maintained her hold and continued to rain down punch after punch on the massive Pokemon's head. Only later, much later, did the pair stop squabbling, only to declare themselves friends for life.
That was what Buneary wanted!
She wanted a trainer who wasn't afraid to grab life by the scruff of the neck and beat the hell out of it! She wanted a chance to fight, to learn, to grow! And most of all she wanted a chance to be around other people who felt the same!
And so she'd hopped out and introduced herself.
That was how Buneary met Diana, and that was the birth of the Boisterous Battle Bunny... the terror of the tournament circuit and a more than worthy alternate lead pokemon to the Murder Squirrel.
Buneary's training was brutal.
Diana knew all about hand-to-hand combat. In fact, it was something her clan excelled at. She had also studied the martial arts of countless other groups. Not just humans and Faunus but also Pokemon. If there was a way to punch or kick someone in the face, then Diana knew all about it.
And she poured that knowledge and wisdom into Buneary's mind. After so long waiting and hoping for someone who understood her, Buneary soaked that knowledge in like a parched land soaked in a spring rain.
It didn't matter that she had to wake up earlier than the others. It didn't matter if she had to run, jump, punch, kick, and move until she could barely crawl every single day. She even exercised her ears! All that matter was that she could feel herself growing stronger.
And if she blasted an opponent into the gym wall with enough force to crack it with a flick of her ear, then so much the better! The training was working!
But there was more.
Diana was a mad genius. Inferno, the Pokemon who'd been with Diana the longest, had always said that. Buneary hadn't understood what he'd meant until Diana had started combining moves and creating custom moves, just for her!
And then she'd evolved!
Buneary had been dangerous. But Lopunny was an absolute menace! Her style was something she and Diana had been working toward ever since they'd met, but to finally be able to use it the way they'd planned. Lopunny would have cried tears of joy if she hadn't been so busy beating the absolute crap out of her enemies.
Overwhelming speed and mobility.
Incredible power.
Perfect technique.
Lopunny didn't fight people. She executed them. She was a bouncing, hopping, sprinting blur on the battlefield, too fast for all but the very mightiest of Pokemon to even see. Her blows hit with the weight of mountains, and she never threw just one attack. There were dozens. Not just with her ears. But punches and kicks and even grapples!
She could blur around her opponents only to launch them into the sky with a kick before continuing to batter them in the air before smashing them back into the ground with her ears or grabbing them and kicking off the air to send them hurtling back down in a super-charged throw!
Lopunny was happy, so, so, so happy!
She smiled as she fought. She relished the cheers of the crowd. She revelled in the speed, grace, and ferocity she could unleash. But above all, she loved the contest, the chance to test herself against the best the world had to offer.
Who cared if she was a Lopunny? She'd proven herself. She could stand against dragons and psychics and all those Pokemon that her family and siblings had always feared and fled from. Now, those Pokemon ran away from her!
And then she met him.
He was one of Averia's Pokemon, and he was magnificent. He was a fire and fighting type, but he was no rash brawler, no empty-headed fool who threw wild haymakers and hoped for the best. No. He was a frozen inferno, a warrior who had honed his instincts to the highest level, whose form was perfect, whose skills seemed heaven-sent.
Every movement he made was perfect, a combination of countless hours of practice, limitless talent, and a mind that had devoted itself to not only study but also practical experience in the very toughest battles.
Their first several exchanges were all but invisible to others, they happened so fast. For the first time in a long, long, long time, Loppuny found herself unable to push her opponent back. If she was an unstoppable force, then Blaziken was was an immovable object. Her heart raced, her spirit soared!
She had to have him!
Diana blinked as Lopunny turned to her and asked a question. "Are you serious? We're in the middle of a battle to determine the World Champion!"
Lopunny shrugged and just repeated her question.
Opposite her, Blaziken's peerless composure seemed to have cracked, as the monk-like Pokemon stared at his opponent in disbelief. Averia just covered her face with her hands.
"I can't believe this," Averia muttered. "Only you, Diana, only you and your Pokemon."
Lopunny had just asked Diana if she knew whether or not Blaziken was single.
Author's Notes
Diana's pokemon are basically all weirdoes. Inferno, her Charizard, might actually be the most normal Pokemon on the team. For example, Pachirisu is referred to as the Murder Squirrel. Tyranitar loves hats and smashing stuff with boulders. Ninetales spends more time on the Contest circuit before getting pissed off at anyone who calls her a 'showroom Pokemon' and then trying to murder them. Her Aegislash is salty about losing fruit-cutting competitions to her. The list goes on. Her having a Lopunny who is a battle-obsessed thrill-junkie is not at all surprising.
Blaziken has no idea what he's in for.
In this AU, Diana's Lopunny is one of the most successful normal types ever and undoubtedly the most successful Lopunny of all time. Diana was also insane enough to develop a fighting style that she can only use properly after Mega Evolving too. Her battles with Averia's Mega Blaziken are considered absolute must-watch for aficionados of hand-to-hand combat.
Although Pachirisu is Diana's most common lead Pokemon due to his typing, ability to use moves of basically every type, and legendary viciousness in battle, Lopunny is the Pokemon most likely to take the lead spot in battles where he isn't the lead. Her typing combined with her fighting style make her incredibly good at just overwhelming opponents and sweeping teams before they can understand how they're supposed to even fight her.
Apart from her legendary matches against Blaziken, Lopunny famously fought Averia's Weavile in what many people refer to as death races due to the sheer speed at which they were fighting. They also have deeply contrasting fighting styles since Weavile weaves deception, trickery, and cunning into her attacks whereas Lopunny tends to fight in a more straightforward way.

Onesie (Final Rose)
The pilot of the aircraft blinked and then squinted. "Is anyone else seeing that?"
His co-pilot nodded slowly. "There... there is somebody in an orange onesie killing hordes of Grimm."
The pilot shook his head. "Uh... command, we have eyes on the Grimm. There's a... um... person in an orange onesie killing them."
There as a pause. "This is command. Say again?"
"The Grimm are currently being engaged by someone in an orange onesie."
Another pause. "Is the onesie a Gary onesie?"
The pilot made a choking sound. "Does it matter?"
"Yes, it does. Is it a Gary onesie?"
The pilot shrugged helplessly. "Yes. I think so."
"Ah. That's Diana Yun-Farron. Hold position and lay down suppressing fire on any Grimm that try to escape her although I doubt it will be an issue."

Monster (Final Rose AU)
It was in that moment that Weiss realised how badly she'd underestimated Diana.
The other girl had always come across as a mischievous, playful sort of person. Of course, Weiss knew that she had Ragnarok. Everybody did. But it was one thing to know that and quite another to understand what it meant.
And now Diana was looking at her the same way a ravenous Oerban great wolf might look at a helpless sheep. And she was casually radiating more Aura that Weiss could summon if she tried.
"Uh..."
Yang patted Weiss on the back. "It's just a sparring match. You'll be fine. Besides, you need to get used to fighting different types of people. And, hey, you've sparred against Averia before, right?"
"..." Weiss had indeed sparred against Averia. However, Yang's girlfriend radiated control and precision. The atmosphere around Diana right now was entirely different. Despite her size, despite her ragamuffin-like appearance, Diana exuded the air of an apex predator. "I guess..."
"Hey, Weiss." Diana's smile was all teeth, and the teeth were far too big to be human. "I'll be charging straight at you to begin with."
Weiss's eyes widened. Was that supposed to be a trick? Would Diana really be charging straight at her, or would she be using that as a feint and attacking from the side or behind? What if she used it as a double feint, or -
"Weiss," Diana said again. "Don't overthink what I said. I meant it. I'll be charging straight at you, so be ready."
Yang snickered. "Diana, you're awful."
"I think you mean awesome."
"All right." Yang raised her hand and then lowered it. "Begin!"
Weiss summoned a series of defensive Glyphs -
And Diana smashed right through. Trails of light and shards of mangled Aura were left in her wake, and Weiss had just enough time to raise her weapon to block a downward chop.
Myrtenaster rang like a bell, and Diana's hand crashed through Weiss's guard. The blow caught her on the shoulder and bounced her off the ground hard enough to crater it and then send her flying back up into the air.
Ears ringing, body aching, and barely aware of what was happening, Weiss caught a brief glimpse of a grin before Diana appeared above her, arm raised in another chop.
"Oh shit!"
BOOM.
Weiss hit the ground again.
Her Aura flickered, and Weiss rolled to the side in sheer, terrified desperation as Diana crashed feet first into crater. The ground shook, and clods of dirt rained down on Weiss.
"Are you trying to kill me?" Weiss hissed as she scrambled to her feet. The agonising pain in her body from just those two blows and fled in the face of the deadly threat Diana presented.
"A little bit, yes," Diana replied. She picked up a rock in one hand and then hurled it at Weiss.
"Ah!" Weiss flung herself to the side and then tried to summon more Glyphs. Diana simply leapt toward her, twisting insanely in mid-air to avoid the barrage of Glyph-enhanced Dust. She landed next to Weiss and grabbed her wrist.
"Oh." Weiss blinked.
"Yes, oh." Diana heaved her up into the air and then back down before flicking her wrist and sending her tumbling end over end.
Weiss's body kicked up a furrow in the earth, and she came to a rest dozens of yards away. With a groan, she struggled to her feet, only to find Diana right next to her.
"Hmm..." Diana rubbed her chin thoughtfully. "You really need to get better at close combat. It's not like you're bad, per se, but you're clearly not used to being pressured like this." She tossed a glance at Yang. "Have you been slacking?"
"What? No! I've been working with Weiss on it, but it'll take time."
"I guess." Diana idly blocked Weiss's attacks and then drove one foot into her gut. Weiss folded, and Diana took a moment to consider her options before grabbing Weiss's ankle and slamming her into the ground. "You're probably not being murderous enough during sparring."
"..." Weiss could only gasp and try to keep breathing as she hit the ground again before being sent airborne.
"She fights like somebody used to duelling," Diana continued. "No dirty tricks, no scheming, no traps. It'll get her killed one day."
Weiss hit the ground again and stared up at the sky.
"Hmm..." Diana appeared above her. "You're still conscious. Good. That means we can keep going."
"Hey!" Ruby jabbed her finger at Diana. "You can't go around beating up my teammate!"
Diana eased Weiss off her shoulder and let the older girl slump onto the floor. "Ruby, it's all for the greater good. If Weiss can survive for a few minutes again me, then she'll be able to survive a few minutes against anything she'll encounter on a mission."
Ruby's eyes widened. "She survived a few minutes against you?"
"Nope, she died about fifty times. But that's not the point. The point is that by the time I'm done with her, then she'll be strong enough that you won't have to worry about her getting killed by some random Grimm that manages to get past all of her Dust and Glyphs."
Weiss glared from the floor. She was too exhausted to speak.
Diana patted her on the head. "That's the spirits. And if you think this was bad, you're just lucky you're not being trained like I was."
Yang nudged Weiss with her foot. "Since Diana can regenerate from just about anything, her training has always been more... realistic."
"Meh. It's not a real training session with my parents without a bit of decapitation and dismemberment. Heck, if I'm not puking blood and shoving my own spine back into my body, I can't even call it a proper workout."
"..."
Diana smiled sunnily. "But don't worry. Since you'll actually die if you get dismembered, we won't be going that far."

It's The End Of The World As We Know... And I Feel Fine (Final Rose x Bleach)
Diana cast aside the body of the fake Yhwach. What a sneaky fellow they were up against. And what a pity that Yamamoto had already expended much of his power fighting against the fake. That had left Ichigo in the awkward position of trying to fight Yhwach alongside the old Soul Reaper who no longer had the raw energy required to face Yhwach on even footing.
It was quite an ingenious plan, all things considered. And all that bankai stealing crap would have been incredibly annoying if Diana hadn't already worked out how to counter it and taught her subordinates. It turns out that Hollow poisoning was good for more than just killing stuff. Who knew? Wait. She did. Because she was awesome.
Harribel appeared beside her, and Diana smiled.
"What a hard-working subordinate I have. Already done?"
"The threats in my sector have been neutralised."
"And by neutralised...?"
Something that might have been a smile crossed the blonde Hollow's lips. "Dead... or wishing they were dead."
"Wonderful." Diana reached out with her senses. "Hmm... Grimmjow is playing with his food again. Would you go remind him that he should finish working before he plays? Also, check in with the others. I want this situation completely under control by the time I'm done here."
"Understood." Harribel was all business at times like this, for all that she was happy to whack Diana over the head with paperwork in private. "Gin is here."
"Of course. Rangikua was in danger. I gave him full authorisation to go to her and see to her safety. That's also where I sent Zommari."
"Was that really wise?" Harribel asked. "He is a bit..."
"He's a weirdo, Harribel, but he's our weirdo. Besides, he knows how to follow orders, and his abilities are perfect for evacuating a VIP to safety. He can deal with hordes of lesser opponents easily and hold off a stronger opponent long enough to get his VIP to safety. With Gin there too, it should be fine."
"Is Rangiku that important?" Harribel asked. She too was watching the battle before them. Ichigo was doing his best, but it was also clear that he and Yamamoto together were not enough to deal with Yhwach, especially now that the Quincy's other bodyguards had decided to enter the fray, separating Yamamoto from Ichigo and targeting the captain commander while their leader dealt with Ichigo personally.
"Gin is incredibly capable. Just consider what he has accomplished for us in Soul Society. We effectively own the outer districts and have made deep inroads in all of the others. However, his loyalty is not yet ironclad. Protecting Rangiku will further cement it. She cannot be allowed to die."
"I see." Harribel's brows furrowed. "When will you step in?"
Diana looked up as Ichigo soared into the sky, a crimson typhoon, only to be met in mid-air by a storm of blue light. He and Yhwach clashed, with Ichigo being sent tumbling into the ground with enough force to crater it and sent chunks of rubble flying hundreds of yards.
"Hmm... right about now, I think. The twerp isn't ready for Yhwach, not yet. And I'd rather not let Squad Zero get their hooks into him too much. After all, I plan to get rid of a certain obnoxious monk." Diana licked her lips. Ichibei would make for quite the meal, and she'd need to get rid of him first before she launched the rest of her plan.
After all, neither Yhwach or Aizen were wrong about the world being broken.
Their mistake was thinking they'd be the ones to run the place after it was remade.
Nope.
Neither of them truly had the power to surpass the Soul King and remake the very foundations of the world.
Diana did.
And she had learned enough to know what she had to do to fix the structural problems in the way the different worlds had been created. The Soul King had done a fantastic job with the information he had and with the power at his disposal, but the very fact that he had to let himself be mutilated and leave the ruling of those worlds to others meant that the situation had never truly been stabilised.
As things were going, it was only a matter of time before everything came crashing down. Diana was going to fix that, and she was going to give the Soul King the peace he deserved after suffering for so long.
"Harribel," Diana said quietly as she stood to her full height. "I suggest you leave now. Tell the others to retreat as well."
"Diana?"
"Did you know that in all my time as a Hollow that I never once revealed my true form. I never needed to. Not against Barragan. Not against Aizen. But I'm feeling nostalgic today. Besides, I want to remind everybody why I rule Hueco Mundo."
Ichigo spat blood out of his mouth and stumbled back before catching his balance. Damn it! Yhwach was strong. Really strong. Even with all his training, he was getting his ass kicked. And with the captain commander fighting the other Quincy, he wasn't about to get any -
"What?" Yhwach stopped and stared at the sky. Ichigo followed his gaze.
The sky over Soul Society was burning.
It had turned a deep, malevolent orange, and tongues of that same orange energy lashed out, vaporising anything they touched. Below them the ground began to shake, and cracks spread throughout all of Soul Society. With his spiritual senses, he could feel the very fabric of Soul Society being consumed as -
KNEEL.
The instinct surged through him, and he just barely managed to stay on his feet. Not far away, Yhwach himself swayed.
"What is this?" Yhwach growled. "What have you done?"
"I didn't do a damn thing," Ichigo snarled back, lips curling. "But I think I know who might have."
He only knew one person who liked orange that much.
KNEEL.
The thought came again, and Ichigo took a deep breath. It wasn't a command. No. It was his own body, his own mind creating that thought. It was instinct, a desperate measure his very soul had come up with to try to avoid the threat that was about to appear.
And then he felt it.
Spiritual pressure.
Limitless, infinite spiritual power.
It swallowed Soul Society. It dwarfed both himself and Yhwach.
It was easy to forget, sometimes, so easy to forget that the Hollows hadn't originally followed Diana because of her cunning, intelligence, and plans to improve Hueco Mundo. No. They had followed because none of them could even imagine imagine beating her.
And for all that Hollows could take on a more... primal form to release their full strength, he had never really seen Diana look less than human.
Until now...
A pillar of orange light tore through the sky and then exploded outward, instantly pulverising anything in its path and tearing through the clouds, the ground, the very air itself. If Ichigo had been weaker, he would have died then and there. The Quincy fighting Yamamoto did die.
And standing at the centre of a maelstrom was a monster.
It was vaguely humanoid, but it towered over the battlefield, at least nine feet tall. It had a long, muscular tail, and its feet and hands ended in jagged claws. Hair flowed from its head, seemingly made of molten lava and shaped, at the end, into more claws. Its body shifted restlessly, changing form a thousand times in a split second before settling back into its original shape, only now with countless minute changes and adjustments for the coming battle.
"Ragnarok," the word came from Harribel, who was staring at Diana in awe. "So that's what it looks like."
The creature - Diana - raised her hand, and countless beams of orange light began to surge forward.
No. Not beams of light.
Those were ceros, countless ceros compressed to near mono-molecular thinness and enhanced with that orange energy that Diana was emitting. And then the cero began to change direction, twisting, turning, weaving together to form a net that seemed to capture the entire battlefield.
Ichigo did the smart thing.
He leapt back and waited to see how Yhwach would react.

Author's Notes
This isn't even her final form! In all seriousness, Diana delayed helping just long enough to ensure that Yamamoto was weakened and would not be able to stop what happens next. Namely, she's going to eat Yhwach, storm the Royal Palace, eat some more people (e.g., Ichibei), and then eat the Soul King.
Then she can remake the world without the structural problems it has. Ichigo is going to be super pissed about it, as are a lot of other people, but Diana is going to do it because it results in the best 'ending' because if she isn't the one to do it, eventually someone else will. And she has studied the worlds enough to fix what is wrong with them.

Rigged (Final Rose)
Yang raised her hand. "I would like to point out that these trivia teams are hideously unfair."
Vanille shook her head. "Denied!"
"What?" Yang scowled. "You're only saying that because it's your team that I'm complaining about."
"I have no idea what you could possibly find unfair about how teams have been put together." Vanille sighed melodramatically. "I was even kind enough to let you be on a team with all of your teammates."
"But..." Yang huffed. "Look at your team!"
Vanille's team consisted of herself, Diana, Professor Cuddles, and Professor Radical. Setting aside the ample knowledge and intelligence of the two hamsters, just Vanille and Diana alone would have been enough to slaughter everyone else. They had no trivia weaknesses.
"This is what happens when you let people choose teams," Vanille said. "Someone always complains. I offered to have the teams be randomly assigned, but you insisted on letting people choose. You can't complain just because you don't like how other people have chosen."
"..." Yang's eyes narrowed. "Well, what about that team?"
The team she was referring to consisted of Jahne, Neo, Emerald, and Anna.
"What about my team?" Jahne asked. "Are you perhaps accusing us of cheating? We haven't even started yet."
"Just accept your upcoming loss with grace and dignity," Diana said.
"Yeah? Well, maybe my team will kick your team's ass!"
"You're certainly welcome to try," Vanille replied.
Note: Yang's team did not, in fact, beat Vanille's team.

Easy Mark (Final Rose)
Note: Set in the Yang x Averia x Elsa AU... which also appears to be the Ruby x Weiss x Jahne AU.
Ruby stared at the cards in disbelief. "Again? How do you keep winning?" She glared as menacingly as she could at Jahne. it had zero effect on the blonde. "You said you wouldn't use your Semblance!"
"I can promise you that I am not using my Semblance." Jahne's lips curled. "Now, Ruby, you know what you have to do."
The dark-haired woman looked about nervously. "Do I have to?"
Jahne's gaze softened. "If it truly makes you uncomfortable, then you don't have to. However... I am most certainly looking forward to the view."
Ruby swallowed thickly. "I... okay." Slowly, she removed her shirt. Jahne's gaze was molten as she took in the newly revealed expanses of toned, pale skin. "Uh..."
"Lovely." Jahne smirked. "Absolutely lovely. What do you think, Weiss?"
Weiss swallowed thickly. "Very much so."
Like Ruby, Weiss was already down several items of clothing whereas Jahne was almost fully dressed. The fourth player in their little game of strip poker was Diana. Like Jahne, she had hardly removed any clothing at all.
As per the rules, none of them were allowed to use their Semblances.
"I can't wait to win again," Jahne murmured. "That would be your bra, right?"
Ruby squeaked. "Maybe?"
"Jahne," Diana pointed out. "Ruby still has her stockings on." The dark-haired woman sniggered. "I wonder why she chose to leave those on while removing her shirt."
Ruby's eyes widened. "I forgot about my stockings!"
Weiss stared at the aforementioned socks. "I don't mind her leaving them on."
Jahne rolled her eyes. "You've always had a thing for stockings. And thigh-highs? You're practically drooling."
"Oh shut up," Weiss hissed. "I've seen you staring too."
"Yes, but I'm honest about it." Jahne leered at Ruby. "See?"
"You sure you need me here?" Diana asked. "Because as much as I like you all, I'm not into you that way. If you three want to just call it a game, I'd be happy to go enjoy my winnings while you three enjoy each other."
"We can hardly call it a proper poker game if we only have three people."
"Are we playing poker? Because this seems more like an excuse to -" Diana stopped. "Ah. We might have to stop here."
"Oh?" Jahne raised an eyebrow. "What is it?"
"My sister is on her way here." Diana paused. "She's currently on stealth mode, but I always know where she is. She should be getting here right about... now."
The door opened, and Averia's gaze flicked around the room. She took careful note of the lack of clothing Ruby and Weiss had, as well as the all but fully dressed state Jahne and Diana were in.
"Jahne, are you scamming Ruby and Weiss?" Averia sighed. "And are you helping her, Diana?"
Diana shrugged. "What are friends for?"
"Wait..." Ruby blinked. "Scamming us? What do you mean? We made everybody promise not to use their Semblances."
"..." Averia stared at Ruby in disbelief. "And you don't think that Jahne has a hundred other ways to cheat?"
"Oh." Ruby's mouth opened and closed. "Then... then...!"
"I'm afraid that I've been using my evil poker cheating powers to get you and Weiss naked," Jahne drawled. "Alas, my glorious leader interrupted before my plans could come to fruition."
Averia sighed. "Jahne..."
"What?" Jahne smirked unrepentantly. "Ruby and Weiss are so cute when they think they've got a chance. And there's a certain... anticipation to removing pieces of clothing one by one..."
Averia turned on her heel. "Do as you like. I'm only here because Yang insisted I go check up on Ruby. I think she was more worried about Ruby losing all her cookies for the next year than she was about you getting her clothes off."
Ruby smiled sunnily. "I'll have you know that no cookies were involved in tonight's betting!"
Diana sniggered. "I'm not sure that's something to be proud of." She got up. "Anyway, it looks like my work here is done. Have fun you three!"
Averia elbowed Diana in the gut. "Stop being obnoxious."

Delegation (Final Rose x Bleach)
Harribel gaped in disbelief at the mountain of paperwork that had appeared in front of her.
“There.” The strange Hollow that had eaten Barragan said. “You wanted to know what I had planned for Hueco Mundo.”
“You...” Harribel picked up a sheet of paper. “How much do you have written down?”
“My main plan for Hueco Mundo comes out to about one thousand pages.” The other Hollow grinned. “But I’ve got another two thousand pages of additional plans just waiting in the wings.”
“...” Harribel’s brows furrowed. “Why bring this to me?”
“Well...” The Hollow laughed and scratched the back of her head. “I won’t be around all the time.”
“What do you mean?”
And then the Hollow changed. It wasn’t anything visual, but to Harribel’s spiritual senses, it was as if the other Hollow had become a Soul Reaper. Another moment passed, and her spiritual pressure changed again, mimicking that of an ordinary human.
“I’ll be making regular trips into the Human World, as well as Soul Society... and a few other places too. In the meantime, I want someone who can run this place and implement my policies.” The Hollow smiled sunnily. “I mean... I won’t be leaving right away, so you don’t have to worry about doing all the work. I’ll stick around long enough to make sure that everything is well in hand. All you’ll have to do is make sure that nothing crazy happens.”
“Why me?” Harribel asked.
“Hmm... you really want to know?” The other Hollow laughed again. “It’s because you’re basically the only person here other than me who has both the strength and the sanity to run this place properly while I’m gone. I mean... Starrk and Lilynette could probably do it if it wasn’t for the whole accidentally killing basically everybody with their spiritual pressure thing.” She began to stroke what Harribel assumed was an imaginary beard. “I had considered asking Nel to do it, but I think she’s still a bit skittish. I think she’s worried that I’ll eat her or something.”
“Are you planning to eat her?” Harribel asked. “Or me and my followers for that matter?”
“Nah. You guys are pretty good. I’ve got no problems with you. Just stick to the rules.”
“The rules?”
“You can find the main rules on on pages seven through eleven. But they can generally be summed up as don’t be assholes without a reason. Besides, you actually understand that if we ever want this place to be more than some crappy desert of misery and woe, then we need to work together. Barragan would rather be king of a wasteland rather than a baron in paradise, so he had to die. That, and he was an asshole.” The other Hollow shrugged. “But, hey, he tasted pretty good, and I picked up some useful bits and pieces from eating him.”
“I see.” Harribel paused. “This... before I agree to anything, I want to know your name.”
“Diana.”
“Allow me to read this... document first, then we shall see.”
Harribel glanced at Ulquirra. “You are not the least bit concerned? The explosion of spiritual energy was... colossal.”
The other Hollow stared back at her impassively. “If Diana has fallen, then we will have no choice but to kneel. The gap in power between us and her adversary is simply too great. However, if she has emerged victorious...”
In the years since their agreement, Diana’s plans had seen Hueco Mundo transformed. Hollows were brought beneath her garish orange banner. They were educated, trained, refined. Diana called it min-maxing, a term that Harribel had since adopted since it described what they were doing quite accurately Harribel’s own power had increased massively during this time as well, something she had not thought possible.
it was all about minimising the weaknesses they possessed while maximising their strengths.
Diana had basically created a proper functional kingdom, complete with a research and development division, an army, and various social services. It was... bizarre yet immensely gratifying. As her second-in-command, Harribel was given the position of Number One Minion. She would have bristled at the rank were it not for the obvious affection in Diana’s voice whenever she addressed Harribel like that.
And the head pats.
Harribel had not known she needed head pats in her life, and nobody else would have dared. Yet Diana seemed to enjoy doing it, almost as if she knew Harribel enjoyed it despite her never saying a word about it.
Her followers were happier too.
Like Harribel, they had longed for a place where they could have some purpose beyond simply trying to survive another day. Others, like Ulquiorra had arrived more out of curiosity before deciding to stay. Although, perhaps in his case, it was more like he’d been dragged there.
Diana had... a strange desire to collect people and things.
“We’re all missing something,” Diana had said to her once. “That’s why we’re Hollows. Maybe if I can gather enough people and stuff in one place, we can all find what we’re missing.”
It was an oddly sentimental thing to say, yet the words had resonated with Harribel.
“Perhaps.” Harribel frowned as the storm of spiritual energy stilled. “It’s over.”
And then Diana appeared.
“Hail your sovereign! For I return victorious!” Diana cleared her throat, and one of the younger Hollows who had been hired specifically for this purpose hurried to unfurl her victory banner. “Heh.”
Ulquiorra tilted his head to the side. “And your foe?”
“Capable of subduing the rest of you without difficulty.” Diana grinned. “But I ate him, so it’s all good.” She flexed, and Las Noches shook to its foundations. “I picked up some upgrades too.”
And wasn’t that terrifying?
Diana had never explained her ability in detail, but the gist of it was easy enough to surmise. Supreme adaptation combined with the ability to regenerate from basically anything... and the ability to absorb, alter, and even improve upon the abilities of whoever and whatever she ate. It was, frankly, the most terrifying ability that Harribel had ever heard of.
Maybe Diana had been weak once, but every opponent she vanquished only made her stronger. Their strengths because her strengths while their weaknesses were removed, and Harribel had a sneaking suspicion that eating people also gave access to their skills and memories too. The Soul Reaper that Diana had eaten was the most powerful that Harribel had ever sensed outside of the Captain Commander himself. The fact that Diana had eaten him and added his powers to hers...
“What was his power?” Ulquiorra asked. “By what means would he have forced us to obey?”
“Absolute hypnosis.” Diana didn’t even hesitate. “His zanpakuto could create illusions so real that he effectively had the ability to completely control your senses.”
“Then how did you beat him?” The quiet Hollow asked.
“He underestimated me,” Diana said simply. “And by the time he realised his mistake, he was dead. The battle was effectively over in one strike.”
“Ah.” Ulquiorra asked what both he and Harribel were thinking. “And you now possess his power?”
“Yeah. In fact, I’m already working on improving it.” Diana smiled toothily. “But you don’t have to worry.”
“Oh?”
“Unless you betray me, you never have to worry about me using that power on you.” Diana smile widened. “I believe in free will. Sure, I’ll kill people who get in my way or who harm those under my protection, but they’ll die with their minds intact, knowing exactly why I’m killing them. I want my people to choose me not because I’m controlling their minds but because I’m the best option. As for you two and the other members of my... senior staff, I trust you. I have to if this is going to work. And that means no brainwashing.”
“I see.”
“You ate something else too, right?” Harribel asked. “I can... sense a new power within you.”
“Ah. That.” Diana nodded. Her power flexed and that strange sensation vanished. “I won’t get into the specifics, but it’s good news for you and everybody else.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean... upgrades!” Diana punched the air. “I’ve been wondering how to make you guys even stronger, but there are complications with a lot of what I’ve been considering and what the guys in research and development have been working on. A Vasto Lorde is simply so powerful that getting any stronger is increasingly difficult. Fortunately, that thing I ate will make upgrading you guys a lot easier. I just need to practice with it a bit.” Diana paused. “Oh, and maybe now Nel will finally sign up.”
“Diana...” Harribel massaged her temple. “You called her a pony the last time you met her. It’s no wonder that she tried to stab you.”
“Hey! I was using a metaphor.”
Ulquiorra’s lips twitched. “You said that every girl wants a pony and that she was the coolest pony ever.”
“...” Diana’s eyes narrowed. “I sense treachery.” She snickered. “Oh well. I’ll go looking for her again. I’d like to get all of the stronger Hollows on board before I go back to the World of the Living for a while. I’ve got some business there that I need to deal with.”
“Anything we should be concerned about?” Harribel asked.
“Not really. But keep your eyes peeled. There’s some weird stuff going on with the Quincies. I don’t think I have to go around murdering them all yet, but it’s something to keep in mind. You have been practicing those anti-Quincy techniques I developed, right?”
Harribel and Ulquiorra both nodded.
“We have also been instructing our forces in them as well. However, they also been told not to use them without authorisation from us first.”
“Good. We don’t want to tip our hand too early if there are any problems.”

Author’s Notes
Diana is building her very own kingdom of Hollows. Yay!
As for Soul Society, they’re still preparing for war since they don’t actually know that Aizen is dead. It’ll be funny seeing what Gin gets up to from here though since Diana let him go... if only so she can keep an eye on him.
