Happy Blessed Birthday to Grammy and Emmy award winning song writer Diane Eve Warren (born September 7, 1956).

She wrote Aaliyah's "One I Gave My Heart To" and many other hits such as:

"If I Could Turn Back Time" – Cher "Blame It on the Rain" – Milli Vanilli "Un-Break My Heart" – Toni Braxton "For You I Will" – Monica "The Arms of the One Who Loves You" – Xscape "Have You Ever?" – Brandy

She would be inducted into the "Songwriters Hall of Fame" as well as a "Hollywood Walk of Fame" in 2001.

"I remember really liking Aaliyah and wanting to work with her. I reached out to Craig Kallman at Atlantic and said I wanted to work with her, they were down. I know a couple of people thought she wouldn't be able to do that song. I thought, 'No, she'll be able to do that'. I remember being in the studio when she was singing it and hitting those notes and it was just beautiful. It just showed another side to her. The octave goes up in the end and some of that was what I'd written into the song, but she took it somewhere else. She put her own thing in it and she did some ad-libs; that's when someone is really good. She not only rose to it, she went beyond it. She nailed that song and it was amazing what she did. Jason Isbell, tasked with honoring the band, delivered a poignant introduction before performing a stirring rendition of "It's the End of the World..." that set the stage for the emotional reunion. Timbaland, the visionary producer known for his genre-bending beats and collaborations with artists like Aaliyah, Missy Elliott, and Justin Timberlake, received his due recognition. Missy Elliott, the first female rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame five years ago, returned to the stage to honor her longtime collaborator. Timbaland's acceptance speech was a heartfelt tribute to the artists he's worked with, acknowledging their contributions to his success. Steely Dan, the legendary jazz-rock duo famed for their intricate compositions and witty lyrics, also received their induction. Here’s my shot of Diane Warren from the Academy Awards 2023 Oscars Nominee Luncheon. Diane was nominated for her song Applause and she received an honorary Oscar from the Academy for he invaluable of music in film over all these years. I have to admit I’m always happy to Diane at any event. We had to do some fancy stepping around at the 80 For Brady premiere a few weeks ago to get a quality shot amongst the mayhem of the carpet. According to Billboard “We already knew about that support. This was her 14th nomination for best original song – a total matched by only seven other songwriters in Oscar history.
