NattiKay fursuit 3.0: digitigrade edition is in the works 👀 still in the planning/materials gathering stage atm but hoping to start on the actual work within the next week or so. If all goes according to plan she should be ready in time for AWU in a few months!

NattiKay 1.0 was made in 2017, followed shortly by 2.0 in 2018. I'd wanted a digi suit even back then but I was new to fursuit making and figured digitigrade might be a bit above my level, so I stuck with plantigrade. Welp, since then I've upgraded almost every part of 2.0 at least once (at this point it's probably more like 2.7 or smth lol)...EXCEPT for the wings and bodysuit, which is still that same plantigrade one I made in 2018, so it's been in use for nearly six years now. The most recent upgrade was her current head, which was...I think two years ago?

SOOO...after getting inspired by seeing some of @happyfoxx-art's WIPs, I've decided...it's finally time. No more 2.2, 2.5, 2.8. It's time for 3.0!! Gonna make every single part fresh!! And finally gonna try to upgrade to digi style legs!! Been wanting to for years and now the time is right!!

I'm a little apprehensive because I know it's gonna be a ton of work and I'm wary of getting burnt out (has happened before, usually because of rushing to finish before a con) but I am DETERMINED to pace myself and take my time and do it RIGHT even if that means slow. I'm starting early enough that there should still be plenty of time to get it done before AWU without feeling rushed, and if I'm gonna put in all the time effort to make a whole new suit from scratch instead of just a replacement here and there I want it to look GOOD. Been looking up tons of tips and tutorials and such and definitely hype! I'm trying to temper my expectations because of course my execution is not gonna be pro level BUT there's definitely a lot of potential and it should at least be decent!!

I will admit I'm "cheating" with the head by using a premade base this time though. Found a really adorable expanding-foam-cast one for sale and I'm hoping the fact that it'll be all smooth and symmetrical will help with the furring, especially around where the muzzle connects to the head, which is a spot I've always struggled with sculpting and furring in the past. And I suppose if I end up not liking it for whatever reason I could always go back and sculpt my own anyways. We shall see!

My fav part: Davis and Ken having their heartfelt bromantic moment inside Imperialdramon

The entire theater (which was surprisingly packed) bursting out into gigglesnorts

Second fav moment: at the end with the cute snowball fight and Yolei remarking to Ken how she wanted to continue their journey together

One of my favorite things about Digimon Survive is that it's given me a new perspective on digimon I previously didn't care for. Like, I never really thought much about Dracmon, Syakomon or Kunemon, but their role in Survive has helped me love them a lot more than I used to. Plus, even with digimon I already liked before Survive, like Falcomon and Lopmon, their role on Survive has given me a whole new level of appreciation for them.

Today I picked up where I left off a year ago on my last playthrough of Duskwood. I very quickly concluded that I enjoyed the fan fiction way more than the game. That lead me back to you guys and down the fan fiction rabbit hole again. Now I have ideas for more fics that I can't write. Why can't I write them? Well because I still have two unfinished fics that I really want to finish but every time I think about finishing them my brain short circuits and I close all the apps and forget about Duskwood for another few months. Ugh, I need to finish what I started but my brain just isn't braining. I'm going to blame this randomness on recent conversations with another writer you all love. I'm not mentioning any names but you know who you are. 😒

Digimon evolution is already weird and nonsensical so I'm gonna make things more interesting by pointing towards the historical/cultural connections between Mesopotamian Queen Goddess Ishtar and her counterparts Astarte, Aphrodite/Venus and Astoroth being a demonized interpretation of Astarte.

Basically, I think Astamon should have an evolution line towards Venusmon, or better yet, make Ishtarmon/Inannamon a real thing and have Astamon part of that evolution line.

(Listen... if any angemon or devimon can digivolve to angewoman or lady devimon or if any digimon in the rennamon line exists then we can have a mafia demon man turn into a literal queen of heaven with no explanations or apologies)

Rewatching Digimon Adventure 02 (again) with a friend really has me thinking about… there’s no way the writers didn’t know what they were doing with the Jogress stuff, right. I mean. The whole “partners” thing + Ken’s insecurity abt it + Daisuke’s reassurance, the borderline tender looks they give each other, the whole “feeling each other’s heartbeat” thing????

Like my god, if this was between a male and female character that would 1000% be setup for an endgame romance but because it was a children’s anime from the early 2000’s we got nothing. But like. Fuck bro I have a hard time believing NO ONE on the writing team realized they were injecting near lethal levels of fruitiness into Ken and Daisuke specifically

we've been rewatching Digimon lately, and have recently gotten to Frontier. we were thinking "oh, maybe it's not as bad as we remember, maybe the fact that it came after Tamers colored our perception of its quality." we even started watching it before Tamers, just in case. it's bad. there is so much potential here. there's so many ideas that we like. but it's bad.

Idk why Digimon is trending, but I need to rewatch it with the OG digi destined gang. I frickin loved Digimon in it's hey day.

I recorded the episodes on casettes over my mom's novelas. Lol. I had sticker books and activity books and I'm pretty sure I still have Digimon cards.

I have this holographic Saberleomon card that i showed to everyone in elementary school b/c I thought it was so pretty 😊

And whenever we went to Blockbuster or Hollywood Video I ALWAYS got the Digimon movie.

And the kicker! As graduating 5th graders we had to write what we wanted to be in the future and I think I wrote "to be a Digimon tamer" 💀🤣🤣

Sims 2 on Windows 11

Alright, the new computer with Windows 11 is up and running and Sims 2 has been installed. These are the steps I took to get it running and looking pretty:

Installed the game through EA App

I installed "George" so I won't need to start the game up through EA App and let it waste resources and spy on me.

I ran the 4GB patch on the Sims2EP9.exe and TS2BodyShop.exe

I ran Graphics Rules Maker and tweaked things through that enabling it to use my full texture memory etc

I installed the EmptyStandbyList since without it I got pink flashing very quickly

????

Profit.

(long, pretty messy and image heavy version of this process written as I did it is behind the cut. I mean it, it's very long!)

added my graphics card in the video cards file manually

did the common graphics rules tweaks (these) manually

applied 4gb patch to bodyshop and game exes

tested bodyshop, it started up but has no smooth edges, otherwise textures are good and new projects export and import as supposed. 4GB patch works as supposed. It'll likely require tweaking it through nvidia control panel so leaving that for later.

Started up game, after turning the edge smoothing on it looks this good (no mods thus the boxy shadows):

6. However my log is reporting only 1gb of RAM for the game to use, will have to reapply the 4gb patch and try again. But it's using all 12 gb for texture memory so that's cool, I probably won't need to worry too much about pink flashing but I'm going to stress test it a little.

:'D But looking at task manager I see my standby memory has filled up the remaining RAM already so this is actually working as expected, I just forgot one step.

7. installed the EmptyStandbyList.

8. This is where I closed game, applied the standby memory fix, rechecked my exe and remembered that you weren't supposed to run it in compatibility mode so I turned that off but just in case I also reapplied 4gb patch and restarted the game. Now it's correctly showing me 4GB of RAM to use for the game so that should be handled.

Side note: Mr. Humble spawned, I haven't seen him for years as I have mod to stop him from appearing. Was this sim always so ugly? It looks like his face is melting.

But it crashed when I clicked on the sims icon.

New try, game restarted and this time we'll go straight to CAS and... *immediately gets distracted* There are this many bin families by default?

I've used clean templates for years so this was an unpleasant surprise. I don't like them, you're all getting nuked soon once I've made sure the game runs as supposed and can go ahead installing clean templates. So then to the CAS, it loads and I click to create a sim and....

Oh. Okay then. :| Guess I'm missing some tweak still. Let's try graphics rules maker instead, it should also easily fix my resolution etc since I forgot to do that manually.

One restart later, are you fucking kidding me?

but hey, nice crisp textures. Too bad it's so tiny I can't see shit. (I realized this was my error after a moment, I thought graphics rules maker said minimum resolution in the spot I didn't change but it actually says maximum, so I fixed that and all is good) But I'm gonna ignore that now and try loading CAS again, pls work.

.... Hell yeah, at least that finally loaded up as supposed.

She is beauty, she is grace, maxis defaults really ruin her face.

After the final restart with screen size etc fixed I went back and forth to different lots trying to make it flash pink and it never did so I'm going to say this was success.

So to recap:
