I recently started Digimon Story: Hacker's Memory and I'm currently grinding for some Tactician USB's to help with EXP gain.

Anyways, I've been resetting for the past 8 hours trying to get the Tactician USB's the drop from the Digifarm. Either I have done something SERIOUSLY wrong to the game, or I'm getting UNBELIEVABLY unlucky.

Since digimon can be inside electronic devices; can they be picked up like one of those desktop pets (ex: shimeji (not the mushrooms)) while in this state specially if they are inside a computer?

Presumably so. I'm aware that some who raise and bond with Digimon have spaces called 'Digifarms,' usually accessed via any device, and since we're pure data while inside a device, it would be as simple as a click-and-drag, as you might put it. Though, most won't typically appreciate you just grabbing and lifting them. It's not the comfiest thing to be held by your head, no?

At the very least, do be gentle with these things.

just doing the final boss fight rn in lost evolution and imma just say this as i slog my way through

the game is alright. i wouldn’t recommend playing this game genuinely for one reason tho. the tamer points

they don’t explain the purpose for the points but basically a criteria to meet to continue the story is is normally fine but this game isn’t normal you need 57500 points intotal to finish the game

and they except you to grind that out normally,

there are digifarm quests you can do to gain points but they require specific digimon with a specific nature or you can do the fossil fighter fossil cleaning game we have at home which is just shit

(also you gotta do the bug plates very good because they affect the moves you’re digimon learn and they don’t tell you that :), and you can upgrade the tools…. wasn’t told that either)

so yea, just use cheats or just play world legacy or cybersleuth and possibly the new game that’s coming soon

i feel my playthrough of cyber sleuth + hacker's memory would be so much slower if i didn't constantly have investigations running on the digifarm and finish every case that comes up before doing the story cases

buut i'm still progressing at least. chapter 8!

Ok, another update. I have made it much further and now almost my entire team is mega level, with the exception of taomon(cause I dont like any of the things it evolves into more than it), and I now have a grandlocomon which means I can beat the s#it out of things with a train. And I am up to the area where you are tracking down crusadermon. And can I just F*#K THAT GUY IN PARTICULAR. But my current team is grandlocomon, slayerdramon, brakedramon, plesiomon, bancholeomon, blackwargreymon, taomon, flamedramon, and a metalgarurumon(blk) that'll be in the digifarm untill I have enough memory, and a garudamon that's there just to fight crusadermon.

This makes me think about the way Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth handles EXP. Like many RPGs the whole party gets EXP from every battle (that includes the 3 active mons AND the 8 backups). There are also a few Digimon who give a lot of EXP when you defeat them; PlatinumSukamon and PlatinumNumemon in particular. That said, those two Digimon I just mentioned give out that much EXP because they have an ability that doubles EXP gained.

After a certain point, though, EXP does get harder to grind out... at least that's how it goes if you're only sticking to one party all the time.

The thing about that experience-doubling ability is that if you raise a PlatinumSukamon or a PlatinumNumemon, you have access to it as long as it's one of the 3 active digimon.

What if you have 3 of either mon though?

Good news: THE ABILITIES STACK. This means the actual best method for grinding is to go out of your way to raise 3 of either (depending on what point in the game) to the point they can handle battling on their own. This way you can load up your backup slots with Digimon to level up and go to town.

There's also an item you can get that doubles experience gain: the Tactician USB. There's at least one that you can get during the late game, but the best way to get them involves using the Digifarm's Research command to make them. I won't go into the details of the Digifarm right now, but the important part is that you can get more of these USBs from it.

PlatinumSukamon can hold one item, so with 3 PlatinumSukamon with one Tactician USB each, you're earning about 6x the experience you normally would.

That's just for the early to mid game.

In the late game you want 3 PlatinumNumemon, since they're of a much higher evolutionary stage than PlatinumSukamon. More importantly, they can hold up to 3 of those Tactician USBs. Altogether, with 3 PlatinumNumemon and 9 Tactician USBs, that multiplier jumps up to 40x.

Even that isn't technically the highest multiplier. Remember that fighting an enemy PlatinumSukamon or PlatinumNumemon ALSO doubles EXP.

In the game's final dungeon you can encounter PlatinumNumemon as a rare encounter. Beating one doubles that EXP multiplier to 40x.

At that point you could raise those 8 Digimon in the back of the party from level 1 of stage 1 (Fresh) to level 99 of Stage 6 (Mega) in less than 20 minutes. Potentially faster if you use Function Call LV2 to force encounters and/or switch battle animations to fast.

To top of all off the same setup exists for grinding money, just with a different item and different Digimon. If you play your cards right you could afford to get the best Farm Goods, the best Meat for raising your Digimon's CAM (friendship), and enough to get all the research in the Digifarm for specific Digivolution items done during the midgame.

the first thing i did when i got hackers memory was i spent literally days - days - evolving and devolving shoutmon so i could get his ABI high enough to nab omnishoutmon

I saw a picture of a digimon on the dash and it reminded me there were digimon in my dream.

There was some guys in the digimon world setting up a shop kind of thing where they were selling a bunch of random things.

There was some mean person who was either Bede pokemon or Bede pokemon-coded. I don't remember. Dude said some pretty awful things and acted just like pre-character-development Bede. I will call him Bede. He could have been Bede. I dunno as I said before.

Anyways I don't remember what digimon i had in the dream but I was looking around the shop for things my digimon might like. Nothing looked like anything that would interest it.

How crazy to have a digimon that's not so easily entertained. I don't think I would be compatible with a digimon that doesn't giggle at random junk. Or I would annoy the poor thing by accident 24/7. Dreams will be dreams.

So I was thinking I would leave but Bede was stressing over a digimon farm. Like the digifarm in the digimon story game series. And it looked like he couldn't afford the one they were selling. And I find out that he has several digimon eggs and if he doesn't get a digimon farm to keep digimon in before they hatch, the government would take them away to be killed or something. So I'm going over there and I have a backpack where I kept money apparently and I dump it all out and sort for the needed coins.

There were gray colored coins and brown ones and the digifarm cost like a lottttt of the brown ones so I was trying to give the brown ones to Bede. I'm an unorganized mess even in dreams though there was random scraps of paper and . feathers in my backpack when I dumped it out. But there still weren't enough of the brown coins to get the digifarm even with the combined amount of mine with Bede's. Really close though. So I get my sister to help. Then there's enough.

And Bede is like. clearly appreciative and perhaps remorseful of being a big meanie earlier but too much of a Bede to say it out loud.

until y/n gets a call from one of their friends saying that a caretaker on the same digi orphanage has a offer that they can adopt for free because they are currently in trouble finding a home for 4 digimon who lost their tamer to a murder (a pteromon (trent) and his sister (becky) who is a biyomon with xantochromism (a type of yellow mutation), a terriermon who is both piebald and erytrinsic (dots), and a shoe shoemon (ginger)

and since there's still space in the manor and y/n felt really sorry for these 4 digimon who lost their tamer for such terrible and traumatic situation;

and then y/n prepares his/her/their now 10 active partner digimon for the contest to not only win the prizes and most importantly the digifarm so they can place the eggs when they hatch so it won't be overloaded; as also a way to make the 3 ones feel better with their scars and appearance (since they also got a beauty spa day and a temporary change to make them more attractive alongside their tamer and the other 7) and at same time make their bonds stronger

and the contest has the categories: beauty contest, obstacle course, quiz, and lastly and most importantly the talent show where the tamer and their active partner digimon must perform together

after they did all of the categories well and specially the talent show where they all did a singing and dance performance together; y/n and their digimon wins the prizes and a very good digifarm!

I imagine that it's mostly the Tamer and Co just having a lot of fun with everything

Helping the new ones integrate into the group, getting them to relax and have fun

They do kinda need the farm, but they don't want to force their new partners into doing anything uncomfortable or prioritize it over them

That being said, the new gang was having a lot of fun! They got along well enough with the others, especially the Tamer, and just have a nice time

The singing and dance contest was even more fun with all of them. They were just going at it, not focusing on much choreography or harmonies

Again, just doing whatever it was that was fun to them

And then they had their farm :D
