When does the pain stop? When you bring Domestic Abuse from the shadows into daylight and share it publicly

Today is going to be a good day

Why? Because I woke up this morning took a breath and remembered I don't need to be afraid anymore.

 As the day moves on the PTSD will tell the brain otherwise but for a moment all was clear, all was bright. The past was gone and I took that first breath of morning air. I just need to keep going back to that moment instead of reliving his fist, his boot, me crumbling, the children crying. Years of degradation, followed by years of nothing feeling worthless as my body literally gave up on me. Pictures of my wheelchair and crutches, my carers voices, of being useless.

NO TODAY IS GOING TO BE A GOOD DAY, take another deep breath and slowly move, fight back the tears look at the blue skies. I am a survivor and the reason for that, to help others, to stop them ending up like me or maybe worse. Violence is abhorrent in any form as is bullying but when it comes from the person you love and trust, No don’t ever mistake this as love, it is controlling at its worst. Manipulative and dangerous if you ever feel you are in this sort of relationship even if you feel you love them, they will change, it’s a phase, get out, get free. Because that fleeting moment I sometimes get in the morning of its a good day, you may never be lucky enough to have again. Hard to swallow but so is being disabled because of someone's size 12 boot.

So as I said;

TODAY IS GOING TO BE A GOOD DAY, I can breathe free.
