Elijah rolled his eyes, used to Divya's jabs by now about how he was old and stuffy. He hadn't told her too much about his past encounters with Matthew and Izak. "I suppose it does make sense given the connection you all have to the spirits." Though Absynthia tended to lean towards the more unsavory side of dealing with spirits and the deals they could make. "As long as this fun doesn't involve your soul or someone stealing your body. There are a lot of people who would love to get a coven leader under their thumb."
"Don't tell me you've come here to be the fun police, Elijah. Did you not see the sign out front that clearly stated no party poopers," she pouted lightly, chuckling a bit at her own words. She considered her next carefully, not wanting to raise any suspicion from her mentor. "Where's the fun in that?" she added, before realizing he probably wouldn't stop until he got an answer. "A few of my witches had been spending a lot of their time at this club. I came to keep an eye on them and see what all the fuss was about, and maybe have a little fun of my own in the process," She let her shoulder rise and fall in a shrug, before her glass of wine met her lips again.

After his encounter with Divya at Absynthia a few weeks ago, Elijah had a suspicion that something was up with the younger witch, but he didn't want to confront her - gently or otherwise - until he knew for sure. It had brought him to Astrid's office in Absynthia. She had to know what was happening in her club, or at the very least she would have seen Divya more. The sound of voices inside made him pause, and he waited for a moment of quiet before knocking. "Astrid? I wanted to talk with you."

"I'm an excellent team player, and I tend to play even better when I'm the leader." He bumped his knee against hers with a small smile. "It's symbolic more than anything. I show that I am willing to 'give of myself' for the community. Truth be told, I'm more concerned for the potential harm to all of us non-vampires." He studied Divya. She looked different than she had that night in absynthia, so presumably she hadn't taken whatever she had that night. "Mostly behaved, I chatted with Astrid a bit to ask about you."

"Good to be back," she mused with a soft smile, pulling her eyes away from him to look at the scene around them, "despite always coming home to a cluster." She shook her head in minor amusement before her eyes met Elijah once again. "I was surprised to see you offering a donation. Wouldn't have thought you'd be a team player, at least for this team, that is," she teased, plucking a piece of cheese off the plate and taking a bite. "I get along with everyone, my dear, you know that," she playfully boasted. "But yes, getting along with them, at least as far as the coven is concerned." It was in that moment that Divya was grateful that she hadn't taken a hit of V that night, despite how much she was craving it being around all the vampires. "Behaved yourself while i've bene away?"

Elijah raised an eyebrow at the lifespan comment, pretty sure that wasn't the reason behind the end of his partying days, but he didn't say so out loud. He couldn't help an amused shake of his head though when she stuck her tongue out at him. Still, there was something just a bit off with Divya, but he couldn't get a look at her eyes to get a clue. "And what does this research entail, Div?" He asked, keeping his tone light. "I might be able to warn you away from some things."
Divya smirk turned into a genuine smile of sorts as she snorted. "That's the beauty of life now, Elijah. The life expectancy is so much higher than it was back in our day. That means I get to have more fun longer than you got to." The witch elder stuck her tongue out briefly taking a haphazard sip of her drink. "Cute parlor trick," she teased as if she didn't know how much skill it took to execute. She laughed at his next comment, "Come now, Elijah. You and I both know that flirting with the dark side never goes out of style. Let's just say I'm... doing my research." She eyed his drink closely, wondering if he'd actually join her in letting loose tonight, or stick around just long enough to prove a point of some sort.

Elijah had taken over his coven when he was about her current age, and he admired her accomplishments as a relatively young leader. Still, he worried. Divya was clearly somewhat intoxicated, the question was how much wherewithal she still had. "I think by the time I was your age I had already been burned one too many times by stupid things I'd done when I was much younger." He answered with a raised eyebrow, flagging down one of the waiters and picking up a glass that automatically filled with his preferred drink. "Is messing around with demons and vampires still what the young people do for fun or is that too old fashioned?"
“The word yet in that sentence seems to be hanging there by quite the thread,” she mused lightly, her sly smirk ever on her lips at her mentor’s remark. Her eyes narrowed behind their mask slight, wondering what sort of trouble Elijah was getting up to tonight, or better yet, what sort of trouble was going on behind the closed doors of the club. She let her mind wander to some of the side chatters she’d picked up since arriving, wondering if she’d picked up on any juicy details as to what Elijah might be up to. When her slightly intoxicated brain came up empty, rather than agonize over details, she mentally shrugged it off.
“Nothing i’m sure you wouldn’t have done when you were my age,” she teasingly deflected, her eyes scanning the crowd as a force of habit before meeting Elijah’s once again. “I promise i’m behaving myself… mostly.”

It was true that rowdy clubs weren't his usual scene, but Elijah was willing to make exceptions when need be. "I haven't become a stuffy old professor buried in his books quite yet."
"Shady backroom deals with the sort of people who don't want to be seen in public with me." He answered with a wry smile. Part of his efforts to improve relations between the covens and dark witches was being willing to meet them on their turf. "You seem more familiar with it than I do though. What brings you here?" He couldn't help being a little bit concerned if Divya was spending a lot of time in the club, though she was comparatively young.
Seeing Elijah in this sort of crowd was much like seeing your father walk into a rave you snuck out to attend. Divya knew that Elijah had had his wild side once upon a time, but she’d come to idolize the fellow as somewhat of a mentor… and maybe even a father figure, but she’d never admit that. The brunette tried to steal her features at the shock of seeing him out, replacing it instead with amusement at his appearance. “A pleasure as always, my daring,” she mused in greeting, leaning into him to speak “I didn’t peg this as your sort of crowd…” she trailed off with a smirk.
“To what do I owe the pleasure?” she added, giving him a playfully coy glance before taking a sip of her wine. The witch knew that Elijah was no fool, but she hoped that the distractions of the night would keep him hidden to the fact of where her high originated. She was thankful in that moment that she hadn’t gone to the bathroom earlier and taken another hit.

Elijah had gone to Absynthia to meet a couple of contacts he had with dark witches and spirits. The whole masquerade night made it easier for them to hide the fact that they were meeting with him, but Elijah had left his own face visible, slipping along the edges of the crowd. He'd spotted Divya on his way out and had walked over to settle next to her. "It's nice to see you again Divya." He was also somewhat hypocritically concerned with what she might be doing there. "How has your night been?"

Who: Divya x Open ( @vievecorcitystarters ) When: Approx. 3PM Where: Absinthia, Level Four, Rubicund, or Vicium
Divya never could resist a good masquerade party. A chance to engage in all sorts of debauchery away from the public eye and her public image? Sign the wiccan elder up. She'd managed to spot a few familiar faces within the crowd of masks, but none that would keep her from indulging herself. Divya had taken a few hits of vampire blood on her way to the party that night, determined to let loose and not let her overworked brain or ever buzzing cellphone stand in her way.
The dark brunette had spent the last hour swaying her hips to the beat on the dance floor before deciding she needed another drink. Leaning lazily against a far wall with her fresh glass of deep red wine, she got lost in the trace of ever-moving lights, only breaking momentarily to take sips of her wine. She could feel the bass making her heart and mind dance, causing the witch to smile at the taste of freedom.
Divya's eyes shifted when she noticed movement and realized someone was beside her. "Oh, ...Did you say something, Darling?" she leaned in to ask the person next to her over the music not bothering to see who it was.
