Máy giờ đây cho phép người dùng livestream nội dung ở độ sắc nét 1080p, cao hơn mức 720p Hero7 Black hỗ trợ trước đó. Các thông số quay/chụp ở Gopro Hero8 Black không khác biệt so với người tiền nhiệm như hỗ trợ chuẩn video 4K 60 fps, 1080p 240fps, chụp ảnh RAW…. Khả năng “bơi lội” của máy ở mức tối đa 10m. Các tính năng chủ chốt trên dòng Hero cũng được đem qua sản phẩm độc đáo này nhưng được đổi tên bởi hãng cho biết hiệu quả làm việc của chúng còn được phát triển hơn nữa, đúng như tên thường gọi “Max”. Khi dùng máy, bạn cũng luôn có tính năng chống rung Max HyperSmooth, Max TimeWarp và bộ tứ Digital Lenses.

Tính năng độc đáo được tận dụng từ camera góc siêu rộng của máy là PowerPano cho phép bạn tạo nên bức ảnh panorama với chủ thể chuyển động nhanh, điều mà với thao tác lia điện thoại/máy ảnh hiện nay chẳng thể nào thể hiện được.

The Osmo’s is a wider 16:9 screen (the Hero7’s is 4:3), which gives you a larger image. The biggest physical difference is that the Osmo Action has a screen on the front of the camera, too. It’s a small, 1.4-inch square, so you can’t see a ton, but it’s generally good enough to see if your silhouette is in frame or not.
