BTW - To me the MagicBand is worth it just for the convenience of entering the Park alone, but if you’re gonna use Genie+ it’s a no-brainer. Photopass and FastPass, sorry “Lightning Line” both on your wrist. Brilliant.

The Fantasyland Autopia operated from 1956-99 in various iterations at Disneyland, separate from the Tomorrowland Autopia. Given its location, it had the benefit of some amazing trash cans that featured the popular "Waste Paper Shield" design (late 1950s-1960s). This style featured a large shield design on the front-facing side of the can, anchored by the words “WASTE PAPER” and illustrations portraying a broom and dustpan. Hey there everyone, and welcome to night eleven of the ninth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month.

Tonight we have the DLR/WDW, Wreck-it Ralph 10th Anniversary, King Candy, Wreck-it Ralph pin. LR.

This is the second of two limited release pins that were sold in Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World for the tenth anniversary of the Wreck-it Ralph movie. The celebratory pin features the main antagonist of the film, King Candy in his Royal Racer. Lifting up his goggles as he appears to be nodding to his fans while driving past. The pin itself is a simple pin-on-pin design, though with the added gimmick of spinning wheels that bring to life the idea of him driving. The gold finish of this pin is also highly reflective, which actually forced me to shut off the lights in order to capture this image.

While I do enjoy the amount of detail put into this pin, especially in regards of the kart. I cannot get over the lazy face King Candy is making. Almost as if this were a picture taken at an unfortunate moment, one that I'm sure Vanellope would laugh at if she ever came across it. As humorous as it is though, I personally would've chosen something a little more unique for a King Candy 10th anniversary pin. As this exact pin design and gimmick combination has been done before. The only difference between the two being the size of the pin and King Candy's face. Another scene from or inspired by the movie would have likely made for another good anniversary pin, though this is only my opinion and the pin itself still is a well made one.

My hobbies include getting into weird arguments with strangers online about Disneyland vs Disney world.

Also idk who keeps saying that Disneyland is a locals park. Bruh it’s fucking not. Half the people we meet when we go are not even from this country let alone Southern California.

The current discourse is the alleged confirmation that they will build something Avatar at Disneyland and how “no one wants this” (maybe true?) and how “people can just go to Florida to see pandora” (buddy if I live on the west coast, which I do, do you know expensive it is to fly to Florida? Last time we went I had to miss an extra day at work because our flight got so delayed we got stuck in salt lake at like 11:30pm at night and had to stay at a hotel and come home the next day)

I’m gonna be real here. As a life long Disneylander, Disney world is only good for: 1. About 8 rides unique from Disneyland’s 2. About 10-15 unique restaurants 3. Several cool, unique resorts 4. Merch exclusive to those parks (and tbh some of which I can buy from resellers)

So we went in 2013 for my college grad and that was our first time and we did the private safari (highly recommend) and took one day to go to islands of adventure. We did a LOT of stuff (not the water parks) and my favorite park then was Epcot bc of how unique it was.

Then we went again in 2018 and my favorite park was AK because of expedition Everest and Pandora and seeing the flamingos. And of course I loved all the shopping and restaurants.

We were planning to go this year but due to my friends’ health problems are pushing it back to next year hopefully and the stuff I’m looking forward to (besides showing my friends who have never been what’s up) is: 1. Cosmic rewind 2. Tron 3. Flight of passage (and pandora generally) 4. My beloved tower of terror 5. Every single restaurant I can get my hands on 6. All the merchandise 7. Staying at a different resort (we did French quarter and Caribbean beach the last 2 times) and 8. Expedition everest (almost forgot)

Like as fun as the rides are if’s almost exclusively about shopping, food, and cool places to take photos of. Which is also true of DLR but DLR has the dinkiest shopping area, very few super cool unique dining experiences, and the same 3 hotels. And at this point I’ve been to DLR so much I’ve taken photos of like. Every thing. Ever.

ANYWAY TLDR

North America and the US are quite large and a lot of Americans, me included, do not want to trek all the way to the other side of the country so yes, I would not be surprised if DLR and WDW continue to share attractions, restaurants, and experiences.

at the start vic would protest fervently against his moving into a new room, at least until they finish the west wing, she's a big girl and she knows he's been married before. but i think it would end up bothering her a lot knowing that cass stayed there. ( not necessarily because they Did Anything; roger might actually confide in her, and only her, that there wasn't actually any of that ). just witch reasons. it gives her the heebie jeebies. but she's unlikely to complain, he'd have to figure it out, or, more likely, take a strong hint from carolyn that hey. possibly thinking about ur insane (2nd) wife in this bed is psyching vic out.

i've debated about this but i do think they would still hire mags as governess, even if it's only temporary, because liz is away (curse) and rog and vic are both abroad, and that leaves barn and julia in charge of children (bad!). but at the end of the day maggie does not want to be a collins employee, she does not want to live in that house, free her from that bullshit, let her have her restaurant. so when they come back vic for sure resumes her teaching, but maggie is fond of david and amy so they call her in when V needs a vacation. or honeymoon. ehe.

(catch mags also Bombastic Side Eyeing liz when she tells her vic went abroad with roger. Something Going On Here and there will be a debrief when miss w gets back.)

when the bad cursed shit is happening they go stay at the evans cottage for a sleepover instead of the old house. and this is simultaneously a good excuse for liz to give her some money for them staying there. and maybe she also quietly pays off the mortgage.

well, most of them stay there. roger is not invited because maggie and joe don't like him and who can blame them. he can stay with barnabas still and go like. yell at the ghosts or whatever. if vic sneaks off to go hang with him at the office / gets caught at the old house in a storm ... oh no ! dwbi mrs. st.

once they're married tho ... as much as she'd want to keep doing it I think she'd have a hard time justifying still teaching / governessing ( not least because roger expects more attention ) but also because. it'd be acting like an employee still. what makes the most sense to me is sending them to school – not boarding school! – and having V be the mom that checks their homework / helps them memorize for tests / bounces ideas with them for essays / etc. still involved with their education extensively, but not responsible for it. david needs to be socialized. please. and she keeps her husband on a leash at the parent teacher conferences.

david also definitely takes french while at school and vic studies with him so she can learn. josette helps them both except her french is like 2 centuries old. and roger knows a little to help them practice. david i think would knock it out of the park because he is simply. a genius. but vic is stubborn. and she'd be the better at grammar / writing, while david would become a good speaker pretty quickly.

defeating ghost possession –> trip to dlr for david to see some friendlier ghosts. defeating cult stuff –> big family vacay for the wdw opening with rog's friends in florida and their kids, with a big ol contemporary resort suite. josie would be so so tiny at this point but they have the most darling photos with her and the mick mouse. unlikely josie / new mom v could stay til close, unlikely rog would want to, so there's some tender balcony fireworks watching.

How do we enforce foreign arbitral awards in Bangladesh?

Arbitration is the most resorted form of Alternative Dispute Resolution and is regarded as the most favourable method for the settlement of disputes around the world. Section 2(k) of the Arbitration Act, 2001 defines a foreign arbitral award as an award which is made in pursuance of an arbitration agreement in the territory of any state other than Bangladesh. However, it does not include an award made in the territory of a specified state.

What is a foreign Arbitral Awards?

Arbitration is the most resorted form of Alternative Dispute Resolution and is regarded as the most favourable method for the settlement of disputes around the world. Section 2(k) of the Arbitration Act, 2001 defines a foreign arbitral award as an award which is made in pursuance of an arbitration agreement in the territory of any state other than Bangladesh. However, it does not include an award made in the territory of a specified state.

It is the practice has that parties may submit their dispute for the settlement to the Arbitration in two ways- (a) by incorporating an arbitration clause on their contract for the existing disputes; (b) by invoking the submission clause for the future disputes. It is no secret that a decision made by a sole arbitrator or an arbitral tribunal on the issue in dispute which is final and binding on the parties of the said dispute.

Arbitral awards may be of two kinds- it could be domestic or could be an award made outside the territory of Bangladesh, knowingly, as foreign arbitral award. In the context of the legal system of Bangladesh, arbitral awards in both the categories are governed by the Arbitration Act 2001. This writing will give you an insight only to the extent of recognition and enforcement of a foreign arbitral award in Bangladesh.

How to Enforce an Arbitral Award in Bangladesh?

It might cross your mind as to how an arbitral award is enforced in Bangladesh. While addressing the question, the foremost thing that you must take into account is the 1958 New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards of which Bangladesh is a member state/party. Bangladesh has become a party to the aforesaid convention by way of accession (“Accession” has the same legal effect as ratification. Accession usually occurs after the treaty has entered into force; Arts.2 (1) (b) and 15, Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties 1969) which recognizes foreign arbitral awards. Precisely, Bangladesh is bound to fulfill the treaty obligations. In furtherance to that, Bangladesh has enacted The 2001 Arbitration Act in line with the UNCITRAL Model Law on Arbitration provides for the provisions on the recognition and enforcement of certain foreign arbitral awards under the Chapter X.

Section 45 provides that a foreign arbitral award shall be binding and enforceable on those persons between whom it was made. Further, an application for the execution of a foreign arbitral award has to be filed in a prescribed manner to the District Judge’s Court. Section 46 furthermore, provides for the grounds of refusal of recognition or execution of the said award e.g. incapacity of the party, invalidity of arbitration agreement, lack of proper notice, conflicts with the public policy of Bangladesh or if the award is beyond the scope of this Act etc.  Accordingly once an arbitration proceeding in a foreign country is completed, the Arbitral Award, on an application by any party, will be enforced by a court of this country under the Code of Civil Procedure in the same manner as if it were a decree of the court (Canada Shipping and Trading SA vs TT Katikaayu, 54 DLR 93). Moreover, regarding the enforcement of an arbitral award, the High Court Division said, a court must recognize a foreign arbitral award as having the same force as a decree of its own provided criteria mentioned in the provisions are met.

When A Foreign Arbitral Awards Is Refused For Execution?

As mentioned above, there are certain grounds for refusing recognition or execution of foreign arbitral awards. Those grounds are set out under Section 46 of the Arbitration Act 2001.

In the light of the aforesaid section, grounds are namely-

If the party against whom it is invoked furnishes proof to the Court –

      a. The incapacity of a party e.g. minor or unsound mind or disqualified by the law;

      b. Invalidity of the arbitration agreement;

      c. Inadequate notice;

      d. If the decision is beyond the scope of the submission to arbitration;

      e. Arrangement of arbitral tribunal was not in accordance with the agreement;

      f. The award being set aside, suspended or not binding on the parties.

Or, when court finds that-

      a. Incapability of settlement by arbitration on the subject matter of the dispute under the existing law

      b.Recognition and execution of award is in conflict with the public policy of Bangladesh
