not just for character arc reasons, which were amazing and so emotional.

but also because historically the line between fairies and undead was a whole lot murkier than we think of it now. banshees are undead spirits that wail when someone of the household is about to die, yes? but the name is from the old irish "bean sídhe", which roughly translates to "woman of the fairies". They were fairies. They were also always ghosts.

and there are stories about fae lords of the lands of the dead, and so much more. fairies and undead were like, two sides of the same coin (to borrow from Cody), and it was a coin that quite often landed on the edge too.
