I become increasingly sure each day that they actually built this shell of a season purely around Romi. Like they “got” her, so to speak and just thought that that in turn would bring in the views from all her insta fans and boost ratings (not that they needed a boost from what I gather) Then paid little attention to any substance.

How little they know their audience in which case. Skam fans aren’t won over by flashy famous influencer vibes. That is in fact almost the exact opposite of the appeal don’t you think?

They could’ve given us any simple storyline from an og characters pov, you know the ones that have been developing for 3.5 seasons! and we would’ve been more than content.

honestly, i can't really speak to romi's fame at all in belgium. i look at her page and it's like.... yeah, influencer, but at this point, some of the actors from wtfock genuinely have more followers than her if i'm looking at the right ig account so.... lol fhjdjd like veerle and willem ds are out there. i get bringing a new following, but idk anything abt the kind of shit she did pre wtfock so i cant say what type of following she has lol. idc frankly.

the thing i can say is that i am personally beyond tired of influencer culture and any narratives to do with it. this is a generation who has lived through exposing the behind the scenes to influencer n celeb culture (read: keeping up with the kardashians and stupid shit like it) and like. i just don't get how it's intriguing to ANYONE to see a skinny white girl who was rich BEFORE these sponsorships do... anything. they're not even being consistent abt showing us that either???? she did two tik toks and one brand deal or whatever the fuck in the first week and now it's just... not a thing. i don't get the point at all even if they were going for influencer girl who is Deeper than she seems.

they legit could have done anything with the og characters and ppl wouldn't have complained (ok they prob would have but not to this rightful degree). like... they rlly should have done smth akin to wtfockdown with split pov OR given us a main who is a poc. it's......... the biggest fucking blunder of all time, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
