seohan is a clever, free-spirited, and cunning person who also happens to be a regular at serenity. he recently graduated university as a photography major. his father is the most famous/renowned fashion designer in the country, while his mother is an award-winning actress and model. his parents were never really there for him as a kid because they're always so busy, so the only adults who he had around him were the housekeeper and gardener his parents hired. however, whenever his parents were home, they'd dote on him a lot and show him a lot of love. he grew up learning to do most things by himself, and he doesn't like to be bound by the decisions others have made for him.

APPEARANCE

with dark, deep blue eyes that resemble the night sky, seohan has naturally wavy black hair that's usually styled and reaches just above his shoulders. he also has red highlights in his hair.

years before eunhyun, seohan had a lover he loved dear, but they were murdered, along with their whole family, by a mysterious serial killer who still hasn't been caught by the police. it seems like that family was the murderer's last victims because since then, there have been no signs that the murderer has killed anyone else.

because of this, seohan utilizes all his connections to make sure eunhyun is safe. even if hes the son of two of the most wealthy and famous people in the business world, it couldn't hurt to be more safe, right?

he's also very possessive over eunhyun, worried he'd lose him to someone else.

"WAS IT ME..? COULD I HAVE DONE ANY BETTER?"

the day before his lover died, he found out they cheated on him with someone else, and they got into a huge argument over it. he blamed himself for not being a better boyfriend. he didn't have the time to even start getting angry at them because that day, he was just sad and disappointed, and the next day, they died. because he loved them greatly, he was still mourning their death after two years (even though they cheated on him), until he finally decided to move on and met eunhyun a few years later. he doesn't blame himself for being a terrible boyfriend anymore. he just avoids thinking of the event. of course, he never gave up on finding the murderer, as he was worried there would be other victims the murderer would come after.

"sasuk, are you sure this is okay?" yun jong leaned towards baek cheon's ears and whispered while eyeing the group standing opposite and glaring daggers to them. baek cheon didn't even try to hide his discontent. he groaned, almost rolling his eyes, then sighed. "what can we do? it was sect leader's decision. and i heard it was thoroughly discussed between both sects. there's no way we can have a say in this. other than that, we're already here so might as well try to enjoy it." he spoke while rummaging in the bags they brought. personally, he didn't want to be involved in this farce, he'd rather train back in the mountain than attend this event but as the great sahyung, he felt responsible to be in this gathering especially that chung myung was very enthusiastic about this idea. baek cheon shuddered knowing that no good will come whenever that bastard is excited over something.

hearing all those, yun jong glanced worriedly to his fellow disciples and sighed. he helped baek cheon arrange their stuff and set up their cottage. beside theirs was the cottage of the zhongnan sect. some of them were also setting up their things and meals while others were just standing by the corner gossiping about the hwasan brats opposite to them. "what were the sect leader and the elders thinking? how could they agree to this bullshit?!" jong seohan angrily commented only to be glared at by his sahyung jin geumryong. "watch your language." the latter scolded. indeed he also hated this idea but he tried his best to remain calm. like baek cheon, he was also the great sahyung of his fellow juniors. without further comments, he clicked his tongue and went back to work making sure that all their preparations were going well.

"finally the long awaited day has come. i have been looking forward to this. i am sure the disciples will be able to relax and have fun, don't you think so too hwasan sect leader?" jong rigok was sipping his tea while sitting on a bamboo bench. his eyes that used to be stern and sharp were now relaxed as he gazed far into the peaceful waves of the sea. beside him sat hyun jong, who was also sipping tea. "i agree with you. i hope they open up their hearts and be at peace even just for today." he nodded in agreement. the two sect leaders sit idly by the tree observing and watching over their disciples. no words are necessary as the salty breeze is enough to calm their anxious hearts.

"seohan." jin geumryong called. the junior immediately turned to face his senior, he was holding a large butcher blade since he was tasked to cut all the watermelons they brought. "where are the watermelons you sliced? you've been there for hours and not a single one arrived in my hands." the senior's brows knitted, he was already annoyed by the fact that they are here with the mount hua sect and now he's being deprived of the watermelons he diligently picked and bought. seohan was confused. he has been handing the plates of sliced watermelons to someone since awhile ago so jin geumryong should have had it by now. out of nowhere, both can hear crunching and chewing sounds. behind the cottage they found chung myung devouring every single piece of watermelon, a pile of plates sitting beside him.

"oh you're here. can i have some more?" chung myung grinned while giving the plate to seohan. a vein popped out of jin geumryong's forehead as he launched himself towards mount hua's divine dragon. "you piece of shit! those are my watermelons!" fortunately, seohan and the other juniors heard the commotion and managed to hold their great sahyung down. "sahyung sahyung calm down you mustn't fall to his provocations, the sect leader is just nearby!" the juniors pleaded.

"oh come on, it's just some watermelons. and we're here as a group so we're supposed to share right? right?" chung myung laughed as he jumped up and patted the sand off his pants. "we have some peaches on our side, i'll grab them for you. or no, just come with me!"

"i haven't seen chung myung ever since we arrived. where could he be?" baek cheon mumbled while peeling the fruits and placing them beautifully on a large plate.

"he's probably playing around somewhere. he can't make some trouble since both sect leaders are here on the watch." jo gul replied while picking and slicing some vegetables for their dinner tonight. baek cheon, with a solemn face, nodded and reassured himself. chung myung won't cause trouble. this is supposed to be a party, a group gathering to celebrate peace. there's no way he'll create trouble.

boom. crash.

"he's here." yu iseol spoke after sipping her tea.

"do we still have peaches, dongryong?!" chung myung called. baek cheon instinctively squashed the fruit he had in his hand as he turned angrily towards his sajil. "it's baek cheon! baek che- what?" his anger disappeared the moment he saw the battered zhongnan bastards in chung myung's hands. jin geumryong on his right and jong seohan on his left, both were barely conscious while being dragged by their collars. behind them, lee songbaek was following, a whole watermelon in hand.

"brat what did you do?!" baek cheon shot up from his seat and rushed towards them taking a quick glance on the three zhongnan disciples in front of him. "they're here for the peaches. i offered nicely but they're being a bit stubborn." chung myung replied then gazed down to seohan. "you want peaches right?"

jong seohan, with bruises and bumps on his face nodded. "yeah. peaches. i heard they're delicious." he tried his best to speak ignoring his swollen lips. jin geumryong, who recovered more quickly, crossed his arms. "dongryong, you better give me your best peaches for this." despite trying to look cool and composed, his face was still covered with bruises and sand and he was still on the ground with his collar being held by chung myung. baek cheon couldn't take this seriously, he simply stared at the two with unamused eyes then he shifted his gaze to lee songbaek. songbaek's expression remained calm as he handed the watermelon to baek cheon as if it's some kind of peace offering. baek cheon couldn't even speak as his hands instinctively received the large fruit. 'what's going on...' he thought to himself.

NOW PLAYING: DANGEROUS - Track 1 "Spotless Mind" ( the one where BK grapples with no thoughts head empty and a blank screen that taunts him ).

On this day, Byeongkwan learned there are exactly 18 ( comfortable ) body configurations possible in this temporary studio space. One of which is one leg atop the soundboard table, one tucked under a space heater, and his head tilted to one side with one cuff of his headphones tucked between his ear and shoulder. He calls this position the Lazy DJ. Second best only to Sleeping Plank, which usually leaves him dizzy, disoriented, and dragging his feet back to the MZSD dorm at 1AM. Does wonders for his sleep schedule and very little for his lyric writing.

It's easier to spend an hour getting comfortable than it is preparing his lines. It's never been this hard. Writer's block? He thinks. Beginner's bad luck? It comes for all the greats eventually - Well, he might not be one of those yet, but he'd claim one of the goods, at best. Thinking too hard, maybe. Judging by the temple throb and hyperfixation on whether these lines need to rhyme. Thinking too little, then? Thinking small... Caught up in insignificant details when he should be having fun with this. It's what he likes. What he wants to do. This is fun. He's having fun.

Yet the cursor continues to blink.

He closes his laptop. New position: Giving up! To perform this pose, a trainee must keep their head planted firmly on a surface such as a swivel chair arm rest, lift it slightly to a 45-degree angle, and SLAM at warp speed - "...Wait."

Pluck a word here, toss a word there, throw it in a notebook, look up towards the sky and ask - What would Seohan do?

( Probably not this but that's a rhetorical question. )

And there you have it: Bars. And they don't sound half bad either. But he'll let his mentor work that out... After sticking his head in the snow for a minute or two.

shortly after, none other than CHOI DAEHYUN of DBSD himself enters the room. his presence seems to fill it as soon as he steps in. after exchanging greetings, PARK JEONGAN addresses the people present. "as you've surely heard, we are opening a new subsidary, and from today on, CHOI DAEHYUN will be your boss." the last word is followed by a short amused chuckle. "DBSD, when founding USGEN, had a clear view of the company and what they want to achieve. and the 8 of you have been carefully picked by all the people present here with this view in mind. in the next couple of months, you'll be moving to the 7th floor, which will be fully dedicated, and only accessible to USGEN staff. don't worry, the rest of the building - except LGC AGENCY's foor - will still be accessible for you." he further explains. "this will be the last meeting that ISEUL and myself will be attending. Creative control will be handled by DBSD members themselves, while HYUNCHEOL, YOUNGJAE and YONGSEOK will be here to support you on the day to day matters until further notice."

once he's done talking, DAEHYUN finally speaks. "the members and i have been reviewing the content you've filmed so far. 'USGEN CHANNEL' will launch on MAY 1. i'll be introducing the company, our goals and plans on that day, as well as the NEWKIDS NEWDREAMS project. the first episodes of the show will actually be dedicated to reviewing your performances, for those who have filmed them. and, for those who havent, it's coming soon enough." his grin makes his words further more omnious for some reason. "our goal is to officially shift the videos to you 8 only on MAY 22, when NEW KIDZ ON THE BLOCK will be released digitally.

the basis of a new group is to introduce those part of it and this is what the first tasks of the boys will be about ! as this is content for a YOUTUBE CHANNEL, the tasks are divided in 'videos' that the boys will have to film:

NEW KIDZ ON THE BLOCK (TAKE 2): DBSD'S DAEHYUN has produced and written the THEME SONG for the youtube channel, titled NEW KIDZ ON THE BLOCK, it has already been recorded with the five first members, now that three more have joined, it will be rerecorded with them. The 8 MEMBERS audio and video performance will be the ones released to the public.

DOOM DUM DOOM: DBSD'S SEOHAN was tasked to compose, write and choreograph an anthem-sounding song that would show the future group's colors. the song titled 'DOOM DU DOOM' is the result. the group will be learning an practicing the song for the next month before they will be evaluated by a panel composed of DAEHYUN, SEOHAN and various coaches. if they should pass this evaluation, they will be filming the music video of the song some time in JUNE, with a digital release around JULY 8. all the lyrics for this trimester can be found HERE

SHOW US YOUR BEST (TRIAL MEMBERS ONLY): each members will record a solo performance* demonstrating what they are best at in terms of skills (singing, dancing, rapping and/or instuments are accepted)

SOLO PRACTICE (CORE MEMBERS ONLY): each member will be tasked to film themselves during their solo practice for about 1 hour. the skills they are practicing are up to them. this is to show the viewers and fans a window into their lives as trainees.

LANGUAGE BOOTCAMP: due to having less than 70 KOREAN LANGUAGE POINTS, KURAMOTO MISAKI and MAE JASPER have to participate in the language bootcamp, while LAI WENJUN will take part in it since he has less than 30 ENGLISH LANGUAGE POINTS. information on these bootcamps will be released later.

*only songs released by legacy artists or released by any artists BEFORE january 2022 are eligible

as written in the article, USGEN aims to be setting trends, and what better way to do so than use YOUTUBE SHORTS and TIKTOK. for fans to know them better, the members will be filming a 'SHALL WE KNOW' short (see JULIE and NATTY filming one HERE). each member will have to pick a LOCATION and OUTFIT that fits their IMAGE and PERSONALITY. if the location is outside of LEGACY, USGEN will book the location for a one hour shoot. another member will be in charge of FILMING the short and GIVING QUESTIONS. none of them will know the questions that will be asked prior to the short being filmed as the answers and actions need to be spontaneous. daehyun has only advice for the boys; go all out without shame !

howdy . im egg. i am a new egg to this roleplay group, with my new muse. he is not called egg, he is Do Seohan. A little insane, a lot weird, but also totally a loser-- but he does try his best i think. He's aiming to be an idol solely to spite his mother who thinks he needs to do something useful in life (not music) but he doesn't really have a passion for it. He found out he has a bit of talent though and that has caused his already bursting ego to grow further. All in all, he's insufferable, annoying, and rich. but please, be his friend:)

doom du doom ⋮ han family reaction

"Is this torture? I hate the premiering feature..." Noeul grumbles, leaning against the back of the couch as the countdown begins from 60 seconds. His sister emerges from her room, targeting an attack of gentle slaps on his back before settling next to their parents on the couch. For once, he doesn't react, reaching for a pillow when he shifts to sit on the floor in front of the couch.

"Oh?" Gaeul utters in disbelief, pointing at the channel on the television screen. "It's legit– Your video is on the official USGEN channel."

"Shh!" He nudges her calf, pressing his index finger over his lips. He should be grateful that his sister was willing to stay up and watch the premiere of his group's music video. He knew that the emotion was fleeting considering how much she teased him on the daily. He was more afraid of her review than anyone else's, but he was especially proud of the song and while he hadn't seen the final edit of the music video, his expectations were high from the moment the creative team revealed the storyline. "It's starting..."

"Ah, the theme is related to the olympics? Was that done on purpose?" He hears his mother's questions, but he is unable to answer, fully immersed on the scenes unfolding in front of him.

He uses the pillow to hide most of his expression, intently focusing on the screen and slowly shifting forward to use the coffee table for support. Occasionally, he turns to glance at his father's face in an attempt at gauging if he liked the song or not. His father wasn't a man of many words, but he did catch a glimpse of pride glinting in his warm eyes when the song reached his rap verse. He feels his older brother's hand squeeze the ball of his shoulder, shaking him lightly with excitement.

"But this–" He hears his sister gushing over every detail, especially the bright colors, the iconic dance break, the heart explosion, and the uniforms. Gaeul claps obnoxiously in his ear, which as per usual, forces him to swat her hand away. "It's seriously so catchy. Mom, did you know that Seohan produced it? It's top quality." She releases a soft gasp, reaching over to press the replay button on the screen. "And Byeongkwan oppa is so cool! Whose photo card do you think will sell out for more? My friends are blowing up my phone..."

"Is that all you have to say?" He scrambles to his feet, lightly tossing the pillow at his younger sister. "Your brother was on the screen too."

"Gaeul, congratulate your brother!"

In true Han family tradition, chaos ensues at midnight while the rest of the apartment building sleeps peacefully in preparation for the beginning of the week.

Like, imagine you are in an idol group that just on the shine of debut when one of your members, the most popular and charming one, get framed but there are no proof. Then, your youngest team member jumps in and says he knows someone and when asked if that person would willing to help, your youngest declares "I will sell my body." Granted, the person is his older brother and he only sells it as a cleaning bot but context dude. Unfortunately it doesn't show the pov of other group members or their reactions to this which is a HUGE miss in my humble opinion

seohan’s used to the shipments of medicinal supplies and products that he sends towards the temple’s way, but some are smaller, more delicate, than he worries about the progression to hurt the quality of what they’ve ordered, even past the sometimes difficult journeys they face in the waters here. it’s what he says, when anyone asks him why he’s setting aside time to make the trip. he won’t admit it’s an excuse to get out of the office, on those rare days he isn’t in appointments until the sun is ready to lower into the sky.

maybe he’s sentimental at heart, to walk through the town and try to find all of the differences, even as memory weaves perception with time. so many years and he assumes the finer details just start bleeding together into facets he doesn’t even notice anymore, but he tries. he tries, to see the cats that tend to linger in their favorite places, the steps of the theatre or an empty plant pot outside the armory, the flowers that start to bloom right when the weather starts changing, notes each of their petals, the perfume they give off.

it continues, into memory grove and to reflection’s light, where he drops off the few small boxes of precious material, and looks for any more he might be able to help to do. he doesn’t mind busy work, if it’s carrying things from one room to another, moving furniture, dusting off the front steps of branches after particularly harsh storms.

so familiar faces blend into view. one, in particular, that he had been familiar with even before the temple, one that sparked memory but not quite realization due to the distortion of water, and a hesitance on his part to invoke the matter past simple conversations and favors of aid. he spots haeun in passing and sets what he had been carrying down in greeting.

“good morning, haeun. have you been well?” his tone is even, kind. the temple’s always been peaceful, full of light and simple encounters. pleasant, to those in pain and seeking refuge from it.

“are you needing help with anything? i stopped by with some things from the port— there’s so many merchants selling new types of salves and healing solutions with the spring summons, so i brought some for you all to try along with the temple’s normal requests.”

eunhyun is a timid and hardworking rich college student who never got to experience much in his life due to his parents who practically carved out his life for him. he wasn't able to become his own person until he struck a deal with his parents one day, saying that he would take over their business after he finished college if they let him live his own life once he became an adult.

sometimes, eun wants to make sure of his boyfriend's love for him, so he often asks his boyfriend, "do you love me?" and "seohan..you love me, right?" his boyfriend always reassures him he's loved by him and thinks its cute that he does this.

eun doesn't have many friends, or people he can call real friends, and the only two friends he has are friends he didn't have until he became an adult. one of his friends is a male barista at a café, and the other is a bubbly girl he met in one of his classes in university/college. in highschool and before that, he DID have a lot of friends, but none of them were "real" friends, and while some of them approached him because of his looks and didn't really care for who he actually was, most of them only cared about him for his money. he couldn't vent to anyone because he knew no one actually cared. and when he did, they would criticize him and tell him he should be more grateful to be so rich, or completely ignore him. now, he has at least one person he could vent to, but doesn't do it often.

seohan is a “rainbow baby”; considered a miracle to his parents after they suffered from fertility issues and miscarriages. he grew up an only child and very loved, perhaps to a fault.

it was his grandfather who originally got him into baseball; they used to watch games on tv together or go in person to local matches. seohan’s grandfather coached his first little league team and instilled a lifelong passion into him.

maybe it was all the love from his parents; it somehow turned into pressure that seohan put on himself to be the best in everything and anything that he did. he wanted to make them proud, he wanted to hear their praise and bragging about him. he was a straight-a student, he was on the varsity team in school, he’s handsome, his girlfriend was the prettiest girl in school. he could not falter or slip; he’d spend long nights studying and beat himself up if he got any marks off of an exam.

seohan left his small hometown and headed to seoul, enrolling in snu for athletic training, only to have his studies cut short by being scouted for a kbo futures team while playing at uni. he ended up playing the sport he loved professionally. he quickly gained public attention for his good looks as well as his skill, meanwhile back home he had become one of the town’s legendary success stories. perhaps he was something of a hero, then.

for a while, seohan was riding high. he had a beautiful girlfriend who he loved dearly, endorsements and sponsorships that kept his lifestyle more than comfortable, and played his favorite game for a living. it was expected that he’d be pulled up to the regular kbo league, offered a huge contract in exchange for his loyalty to the team, rather than risk him getting scooped up by another once his rookie contract expired. but that would never happen.

he had been called up for a major league game, his first ever. perhaps it was nerves, or just a reality check when things were going too well, but seohan found himself scrambling for first after a botched hit sent the ball right toward the second baseman. he slid, but the movement was miscalculated; seohan had to be carted off the field into the locker room, where x-rays confirmed his worst fears: it wasn’t a broken bone, it was something worse.

the next day he finds out at the hospital that his season is over; an acl and meniscus tear that needs surgery immediately. so much for that contract, that breakout game; now seohan was struggling just to get back out onto the diamond. his girlfriend, who swore up and down to help and support him during this time, took one look at the scars on his knee and disappeared, leaving a note that she no longer felt attracted to him after seeing his injury.

now, he works on his recovery alone. he hates seeing pity in his old friends’ eyes, he hates the feeling that he’s disappointed everyone by not making it to the top. but all he can do is continue on.

garam's spent a grip of his night with his back against the wall; his vulpine stare making its way through the crowds of people, taking all of them in—painstakingly bored. he was (un)fortunately ditched by his "benefactor," which he's noticed, as of late, is becoming a more common occurrence. he's not exactly complaining about that, though. at least not really. so long as he's still "on the payroll," he doesn't mind the lack of attention. it's not like he's a sad-sack, delusional numbskull who thinks there's any shred of love between them. instead, he knows his place, and lives his double life cloaked in the shadows. besides—it's more than worth it in the end.

garam adores watching the figures of his bank account go up by seven-thousand won at the top of every month. it's a pretty sweet deal.

however, being that he traveled here for that specific purpose and it's no longer happening, he had to figure out some other way to spend his night. he didn't drive all the way over here for nothing, and it's not often that he gets to take a trip to daehan in the first place. though, about an hour into his time amongst the neon-soaked rides, games, and concession stands, he caught sight of a certain face; one that he became quite familiar with only a few weeks prior. his eyes lit up, a sly smile tugged at the corners of his lips, and without further hesitation, he eagerly made his approach.

once he learned that seohan was here alone, garam knew that he needed to take advantage of the delicious opportunity that bestowed itself upon him, and now, the pair of them find themselves standing before of a gaudy row of skee-ball lanes. turning his head over to the current apple of his eye, he smirks impishly; his moon-like face drenched in vivid technicolor, then touched with a soft undertone of starlight. "why do i get the feeling that you're, like, stupid good at this game?" he teases, taking a step closer; his hands tucked into the pockets of his denim jacket.

"something tells me that you have great aim... and strong arms. is that true?"

the tone of his voice is cheeky; cute. he hopes it takes the edge off of his more forward remarks. he doesn't wanna scare seohan off, after all.

SCHEDULE TYPE: TRIMESTER ( PART 2 OUT OF 2 )

The eight trainees are back in the meeting room and CHOI DAEHYUN (president of US GEN and member of DBSD),  KIM HYUNCHEOL (the trainees' head manager), SEO YOUNGJAE (kim hyuncheol's assistant) and LEE YONGSEOK (DBSD DAEHYUN's manager) are present with them. as always DAEHYUN is the one to speak first. "we're currently still reviewing your GUERILLA PERFORMANCES, but so far, i can say that we are satisfied with what we've seen and hope that the experience was valuable" he scans the tablet in front of him and nods. "skill wise, everybody is on the right track. WENJUN, thank you for listening to our feedback. BYEONGKWAN, you are lagging behind in dancing and performance; unless you want to be stuck at the back and only have 4 rap lines per song, you're going to have to work on these skills. MINKI, if you want to make a more significant impact on stage, rather than work on your technical dance skills, you should practice your performance skill to connect better with the crowd and inject more charisma when you're on stage.  

after a final look at his tablet, daehyun puts it down and considers the trainees before him. after some time he nods to himself. "OK" he turns towards hyuncheol. "lets confirm their debut for DECEMBER." he tells the man who nods in agreement.

"in a little over FOUR MONTHS from now, you'll officially be idols." finally, a smile cracks on his lips. "SEOHAN, HYUNBIN and I have already begun working on your new songs, however, we want to involve you more in the process now that you have an idea of the group's direction. your debut will have a physical release this time that will include all of your previous songs and TWO new songs."
