Dustin makes friendship bracelets for him, Steve and Eddie before the two older boys have even met. He wanted matching ones with his two favourite people but he didn't want to make two separate designs for them, so he just made three of the same one.

He never expected the two of them would actually meet.

Cue Eddie holding a bottle to Steve's neck and even though he's scared shitless, Steve can't help but notice that Eddie has the exact same bracelet as him and Dustin. The same colours, same design, all of it was identical to the one Steve is wearing.

Later on, Steve smacks Dustin upside the head and exclaims, "Wow, Dustin, really?! I have a matching bracelet with fucking Eddie Munson!"

"I didn't have enough string!"

"Uh huh, sure."

But then things change. Steve and Eddie grow closer, they laugh about the matching bracelets; Eddie's hand gently holds Steve's wrist as he examines Steve's bracelet. Steve's head spins a little because fuck, Eddie has really nice hands. "I can't believe I have a friendship bracelet with King Steve." Eddie teases.

"Fuck off." Steve shoves him away lightly and bites back a grin, his skin tingling where Eddie's hand had been.

Years pass and they still wear the same bracelets. They're a bit worn and faded but they still wear them everyday. The poor bracelets have been through a lot. Eddie momentarily lost his bracelet after Steve pushed him into a fountain on their one year anniversary, Steve's has gone through the washing machine a few times and Eddie's fell off while they were walking through a corn maze. They had to walk the whole maze again twice to find it.

They ask Dustin to make them another much smaller bracelet for their daughter.
