Another preview of this project! I wanted to pattern a well fitting top that would still work for a veryaty of doll bodies, pretty please with the results (⁠・⁠∀⁠・⁠)

For comparison the doll on the left has a 26cm bust and 16.5cm waist the doll on the right is 28.5cm bust and 17.5cm waist

Took these photos a while ago in my best friend's garden. The little flowers were perfect for her!

She's one of the few blonde dolls in my collection 😅 idk why, the blondes never stick.

My latest doll arrived! She's a Doll Family -H Xiao Tu, their, now discontinued 1/5 scale girl. I could not find many owner pics of her while I was waiting and sadly I suppose I probably won't going forward.

She's an amazing poser - she came wired but I did not put it back in after I took her apart to dye her (I could have just ordered her in pink but I originally planned for her to be darker - however after six months waiting and looking at her company pics she kinda got solidified as pale) and with kips she still poses like a dream, if a tiny bit kicky in the arms. But loads easier to dress without the wires!

Her name is Novalie and she's a young sorcerer my ranger-druid Sariel and her Warlock companion Elspeth save from a conspiracy to have her murdered.

Weekly Photo 46/2023

As I visited Kassel last month it was the weekend before Halloween and I just knew the scenery in Kassel would be perfect for some autumn themed photos. There was rain forecasted but it didn't stop me. I decided to take Abraxas & Jezebel with me, both don't care about the weather either, may it rain or storm. As long as they are together they stand strong.

They were very pleased with the decision.

Finally dyed and painted my df-h pumpkin head. It’s so cute and I love it. Now I need to make more 1/4 sized clothes. I have mainly 1/3 bjds so I don’t have as much for her as I do my bigger dolls. Next up is the Medusa head!

Some people have musical chairs; we have musical bodies

I ordered Iplehouse Doria human and fantasy heads on an nSID body as a three-way split - I kept the human head, a buddy got the vampire head, and another buddy got the nSID body.

Then, it was hybrid time. Started with the Impldoll new Star Model (63 cm) body, and it was a lovely match:

The only problem was, the head was the obvious choice for color-matching, and since I paid for the face-up, I didn't want to mess with it.

So I put Supiadoll Noa on the body, and the resin is an almost perfect match:

Next, I tried Doria on the DF-H 68 cm muscular female body (kinda surprised I don't have a better pic, cuz I really liked this hybrid), and it was - it was fine.

But something just wasn't right. It wasn't a failure of color matching. It was more that I wasn't completely in love with the smaller, slighter upper body with a full-size EID head.

And I am tired of the EID body, so a buddy (the one who got the vamp head) offered to trade this:

For another Miracle Doll 68 cm muscular female body, and I was like, "OMG YES WHEN I WANT I NEED GIMME."

And now - NOW - I am completely satisfied with this hybrid.

MUCH better. The MD body has more up top to counterbalance the size of the head, which I am not complaining about. Heads come in all sizes for people and dolls. It's a matter of matching the right head to the proper-size body.

Now: who gets the DF-H body? It has to be smaller than Iplehouse.

Hmmm.... maybe the DF-A Xiuxiu head? I like the head, but it seems dwarfed by the DF-A 68 cm body. And I have plans for that DFA body. Eeeeevil plans.

zephyr update: she has jointed hands now from DF-H in pink ns(? forgot the exact color i ordered in) I was able to mod them onto her vinyl body semi-easily :^)

My doll family h 68 body came in

Oh-oh

Having experienced crushed packages before my gut (and hands) told me it got squashed because the content of the box did not fill it entirely, so I wasn't too worried despite how it looked, and I was right:

Doll bag instead of a box! I am pretty happy with that; I have doll boxes coming out of my ears

The body(with it's intended head) :

I think it looks nicer then the company photos but to be ideally to my taste I would have liked a bigger ribcage and slightly longer neck (for this head in particular) it poses nicely however it has been wired so not sure how it would do on it's own!

The skin match is shockingly good? The only difference seems to be the fact that the head is french resin unlike the body (the face up gives it a slightly different tone) I didn't even really think about the skin match but it's a pleasant surprise!

The hand pose is a bit awkward as it can very easily look odd in photos but they are not badly sculpted, maybe some hot water reshaping would help

The body proportions are curious, I think if you wanted a boy to girl body to mod this would actually be a great candidate 🤔
