Why is no one offended when Bill Maher goes on his racist tirades, but when Michael Richards exposes his true feelings, the whole country is in a temporary uproar? When Paul Mooney [cosigns it] is it okay? Is it justified that Don Imus got fired, or was the punishment excessive? is it okay then?

How Black Unity Took Down One Of The Most Powerful white Men In sports Media
How Don Imus lost his entire career for calling these women “Nappy Headed Hoes”.  This was the final straw in the career of a career racist. his career ended and the conversation opened on this audience, because the Women of Rutgers Were Winners.

TYT Sports - Karma catches up with bigoted Pundit in Epic Fashion

Imus in the Morning, 66 WNBC New York: The Early Days | 1972
Imus in the Morning, 66 WNBC New York: The Early Days | 1972
Don Imus at 66 WNBC New York AUDIO ONLY – Listen Below. Courtesy of longtime contributor Steven Green, this goes way back to just about the beginning of the Imus in the Morning program on WNBC. This is a fascinating aircheck from the standpoint that Imus was using much different sound effects, and doing much of his schtick live, as opposed to a lot of produced bits. His recognizable “quack…

I Get Some Form Of Schadenfreude Watching These Two Bite The Dust For Disbelieving Their Masters
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even though Don Porccini isn't as much as a hate sink as Saint Saturn, he still is a rat who sells out his fellow villains for his own gain and ends up paying for it when PEACE backstabs him and Black Hat eliminates him. It also doesn't help both are also arrogant blowhards who pride themselves on being of very high positions that they forget that in the grand scheme of things they are as much of a peon to their master as everyone else.

Egghead is a strange arc. On one hand we have probably the most hype week to week experience since Marineford, but the flow of events feels such a mess. It has the vibe of a short arc but I don't think it is. Couple the GV flashback with frequent break weeks, Elbaf might start in late 2024 or early 2025.
That said, it's a great chapter. Kuma's parents are the type of people you love at a glance, which makes those few panels incredibly difficult to stomach. The dad singing "don-to-to-to" to have the "don-" immediately silenced by the loud "DON" of a gunfire was chilling. I'm glad that the English translation did the same (with the word "doom" instead).
Tumblr media
(do we know which geographic location the sorbet kingdom is possibly based on?)
Since Vegapunk can directly look at and converse with Saturn, I don't think power difference is the reason why lower rank marines would have their heads exploded if they look at Saturn. Maybe it's the Gorosei's way to protect confidentiality.
Some have said Saturn healing himself could be a demonstration of how ope-ope perennial youth surgery works. But I'm starting to buy the theory that the Gorosei might not be humans. Imu could be the only one who had the surgery performed on them. The rest of the Gorosei are creatures, either demons from another world or created by imu. There's no physical way to defeat them (maybe they can be sealed off permanently instead).
Other than that, not much to say that hasn't already been said. I've noticed that Ivankov used to use masculine "ore" (stylized) and changed it to the neutral "watashi" (stylized) as an adult.
Randy Troy pointed out that Crocodile might also appear here, maybe as a slave, and we might have an insight to his past and secrets.
There's a lot to look forward to in this flashback. But I'm feeling slightly bittersweet about the fact that law and kidd's possible update might be a year away if this flashback shows the entirety of God Valley incident. But at least, reading Egghead is an experience. I'm happy to have returned to my op phase right on time to read it weekly.

So the 13th anniversary of Wrath of Ning Ping part 2 (that episode where the titular mob boss and some of the main characters become a parody of the Power Rangers to fight George Bush and Don Imus) doubled as the day Kabosu died.
I think those in the Nutshack fandom who believe in the "13 is unlucky" superstition are shitting their pants rn.

Kaido : the tyrant ruler of Wano Kuni, the strongest creature ever.
Big mom: Ruler of the whole cake island and collector of people's souls.
doflamingo: Dressrosa's tyrant king and the Don of the underground devil fruit market
Imu: the sovereign of the world, the highest being ever.
And then you have the gorosei: farmer, Accountable, gardener, lawyer...etc

Gordon Michaels was born in Detroit, Michigan. His father is of Italian, Irish, and Jewish decent and his Mother is of Cuban ancestry. Michaels spent most of his youth in Michigan and graduated from John Glenn High School where he played basketball for the Junior Varsity and Varsity teams and still holds the school record for most rebounds in a game (27). As a teenager, Michaels spent a lot of after school time practicing and performing as lead singer for his Detroit garage band Flash Experience. The group performed at some high school events as well as various venues around metro Detroit. Michaels love for both writing and performing music is something very close to his heart. In fact, he's written a number of songs over the years and looks forward to taking them into the studio to record.
After attending a performance of a community theater production of Man of La Mancha, Michael's was stung by the acting bug. In 1986 Michaels became a graduate of the prestigious Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theater in New York City where he studied under world renowned acting teacher Sanford Meisner. Michaels spent a number of years under the tutelage of Uta Hagen and Herbert Bergoff at the renowned HB Studio in New York City.
In addition to writing, producing, and staring in the film Unbeatable Harold, which featured Henry Winkler, Phyllis Diller, Charles Durning and Dylan McDermott, Michaels can also be seen in the Miramax released, This Must Be The Place with Sean Penn, Fox Searchlight's Conviction with Hilary Swank and Sam Rockwell, Love and Honor with Liam Hemsworth, Warner Bros Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Some of Michaels other film credits include; Out of the Furnace with Christian Bale and Woody Harrelson, Hostel Part 3, Street Kings Motor City, The Cooler, Joe Dirt, Seduced by a Thief, Leaving Las Vegas, and Gifted Hands, with Cuba Gooding, Jr.
Michaels is also recognized for his work on ABC's award winning legal drama The Practice, and can be seen in the up-coming feature Escape Plan 2: Hades with Sylvester Stallone and Dave Batista. Michaels is founder and President of the motion picture company Brandon Street Films, an independent production company dedicated to creating an artistic home for filmmakers.

The Boondocks #20: “The Story of Thugnificent” | November 5, 2007 - 11:30PM | S02E05
Rapper Thugnificent moves across the street from the Freeman family. Granddad and Thugnificent immediately clash. Also, in an ironic twist, it’s the black residents (Granddad, Tom, and Uncle Ruckus) of the mostly-white neighborhood who grumble about lowered property values and the loud partying going on. The white neighbors all sorta just starstruck. Riley, of course, is completely jazzed. Huey is the level-headed voice of reason who finds Thugnicient to be an unwelcome presence but doesn’t think Granddad should be such a reactionary crabapple. He encourages Granddad to just talk to the guy and let his feelings be known. Granddad would rather performatively disapprove of Thugnificent.
Granddad complains about Thugnificent to the city and manages to get under Thugnificent’s skin so much that he composes a diss track called “Eff Granddad”, complete with a music video depicting an actor portraying Granddad (“The guy from Friday,” says Granddad, referring to John Witherspoon in a VERY SNEAKY self-reference). Granddad tries to compose his own response track. What winds up bringing Thugnificent down a peg is the fact that teens begin profiling old bald dark-skinned men and beating them up, citing Thugnificent as an influence.
This one starts strong but I felt it ran out of steam slightly. Great first half, second half really only existed to wrap the story up. There are some great bits, like Granddad calling Thugnificent and his entourage “nappy-headed hoes”, a then-current reference to Don Imus’ own racist outburst on his radio show, and the cold open where Thugnificent shows MTV’s Sway the third-world-like shantytown that he was raised in that somehow exists in the South. He truly came from nothing, and celebrates his wealth gleefully. Granddad, who achieved his wealth late in life, hangs onto the bitterness of his youth. This is the key to their rivalry.
My favorite scene is when Riley sneaks over to Thugnificent’s house. Huey eventually goes over to retrieve him, so he won’t get in trouble with Granddad. Huey observing the tacky self-aggrandizing painting of Thugnificent placed above MLK, Malcolm X, Tupac, and Biggie is really funny. And his line “Did you just congratulate me for reading?” was a big laugh from me. Me, doing a big laugh? It’s the most important thing, and you should be loving it.
