#don’t ask why i keep posting abt the doodle getting notes. i’m excited about it

ok folks you wanna know why it’s important to rb art you like??

recently i posted art of king from toh (i know this is the second time i’ve posted abt it just shhh)- just two simple doodles, one as a warmup, and one which i had been wanting to draw for a while. i thought “fuck it” and put those doodles in the main tags

that post got popular, for my art! abt six ppl had reblogged it and it was up to 49 notes- i didn’t even have to self-rb! i was very happy and went to bed feeling validated.

now, while i was asleep, someone rbed it and, in their tags, said it reminded them of their mutual. said mutual rbed that and went, in tags, “it is like me!!!” cute interaction btw. now, after those two inconspicuous little rbs, the post nearly doubled in notes. last i checked, it hit 81 notes, a lot for my art!! now i feel even happier about it!! and i wanna draw even more!!

rbs are /so/ so good for an artist; same for authors, i just don’t have any personal experiences with that. anyways, rbs bring art/writing to a bunch of new eyes, which helps the creator get seen, and also spurs on more work in the future! yes, we artists work mainly for ourselves, but having that positive reinforcement, the “you’re doing great!”- it helps much more than you’d think.

my point is if you see art or writing you really like, take a second to rb it! we love it!! (we’ll really love it if you talk about it in the tags but you don’t gotta)- you may even be responsible for us working even harder!! it takes like 2 seconds and it helps more than you think. thanks for your time reading this incoherent post <3
