Day 1 Draecember2017: A letter to someone
The stars were high in the sky when Kaviri stirred from her bed. Quietly she grabbed her bag and tried as quickly as she could to sneak out her window. Unlocking the window she froze and turned around to look toward her sister’s bed when the widow made a faint squeak. Kaviri’s sister continued to slumber. Kaviri knew she only had a few hours left before first light to get across Shadowmoon Valley to the rendezvous. Exiting the window, she landed light as a feather from the upper balcony with a speedy levitation spell. The only sound in the night was her hooves hitting the path from her house to the stables nearby. Mounting her nether ray she was soaring over the rolling grasses of the valley in seconds. Kaviri looked back to see her village fading in the distance and looked forward to see Moonwillow Peak on the horizon. She tightened the reins of Shaza who then responded with an increase in speed.
Upon landing near the great willow, Kaviri noticed she was the first to arrive. Rain drops started overhead and she moved under one of the great limbs of the willow. As time passed she feared that the man she was waiting for was not going to show. It wasn’t every night that he could manage to sneak away from Shaz’Gul. Reminding herself she knew that they were both at risk meeting here, him more so than her. To ease her anxiety she took out and quill and paper to write a note for him to find should he arrive later.
“My light,
Today marks the third day that you have not come to the willow. I am starting to fear the worst…I have heard reports of dark magics coming from Shaz’Gul. I only have a few days until I am to go back to the markets in Shattrath City. I hope all is well and you are safe. I am not sure of when we will meet next, but I will find a way. Do not lose faith in me my star.
Kaviri”
The sound of Shaza’s hissing frightened Kaviri as she finished her note. Quickly getting to her feet and drawing her staff reflective eyes emerged from the plants next to where she was sitting. Apprehensive fear was quickly replaced with a sigh of relief. A large brown wolf with a scar on its right eye came up and nuzzled Kaviri’s leg. It was the man’s wolf whom she was secretly meeting with. Taking the animals head in her hands, she scratched behind his ears and looked toward the bushes expecting the man to come after. He did not. The wolf whimpered when he saw Kaviri’s gaze locked with the bushes.
Surely he would not just send Graha…
Continuing to pet the wolf she felt a harness strap with a cylinder attached to it. Upon opening it was the scribbled text from the man whom she was waiting for. Kaviri smiled, for it was ritual celebration that was keeping him away. His letter reassured her that time would not pass much longer before they were in each other’s arms again. As the light began to peak through the trees Kaviri quickly put her letter in the cylinder and Graha nuzzled her once more before departing back into the bushes. Swiftly Kaviri mounted Shaza and started to fly back to her village. Seeing Graha run toward Shaz’Gul she had hope for the next night to come. A small smirk came across her face thinking of his arms around her again.
Do not lost faith in me my star..
