Tokyo Researchers’ Dragon Drone Can Shape-shift on the Fly Researchers at the University of Tokyo’s JSK Lab have developed a modular flying drone capable of adapting its shape to suit its environment. It’s called DRAGON, which conveniently stands for Dual-rotor embedded multilink Robot with the Ability of multi-deGree-of-freedom aerial transformatiON. DRAGON is powered by ducted fans that can adapt on the fly to form whatever shape is required, shifting the drone from a square to a snake. This image was created in the studio from two separate exposure. The first one exposing for the rays of light emanating from the LEDs with a hazer. I finally figured out what was wrong with my Acura RSX after my local mechanic gave up. I decided to pull out the spark plugs -they were totally burnt up- the electrode was completely gone on the old pulstar plugs. We offer motor encoders for the T-64 and T-74 motors for the SMB robots. Here you can see me installing one of the quadrature motor encoders. By flipping all the microswitches to the on position. you can set the pulses per revolution or ppr to 48 which is then readable by the Roboteq motor controller. Encoders like these, can be used to determine the position of the motor/wheel, the distance traveled and the direction of the motor rotation.
