Thonking about StarSwap again -

The scene where Jonathan attacks Dio full force after he assaults Erina is probably going to end up going pretty differently - Jolyne is going to fight dirty, and be absolutely vicious in a way Jonathan could never manage.

Dio burned Danny alive in retaliation for Jonathan managing to successfully beat the shit out of him and scare him - what might he do in response to Jolyne's cunning and aggression?

While the nature of the relationship likely wouldn't be the same as it would be in canon (after all, Erina would be like. 12/13 years old and Jolyne is 19), she still would've seen Erina as a very close friend. I don't doubt that Jolyne would still step in when those two other kids were bullying her, albeit unlike Jonathan her reasoning wouldn't be anything chivialry related. Hell, with the help of Stone Free, Jolyne might even be able to win that fight

Erina would still seek her out afterward, and while Jolyne wouldn't reciprocate the romantic feelings the other girl had...... well, Jolyne's pretty lonely. Sure there's Danny, but he is a dog, and Erina's kind and sweet and nice to hang around, and open minded enough that I think she'd be okay with Jolyne asking if they could be just friends

but of course, this is the 1880s in England, and naturally most people assume the pair to be romantically involved, especially given how close they are

Dio being one of them

you're absolutely right in how Jolyne is going to be brutal. Words can not properly express how overwhelmingly pissed she is going to be about all this, and what makes things worse for Dio is how no matter what he does, Jolyne just won't go down. Despite how much he punches and kicks, all his attacks seem either magically miss or just bounce right off (ofc, this is thanks to Stone Free), so Jolyne gets hardly a scratch on her. Hell, she's probably not even going to stop when George arrives, no matter what he says or what punishments he threatens to inflict.

now, do the both of these things make it easier for Dio to spin the story in his favor? Admittedly yes. I'd imagine she tries to tell George about what happened, about what Dio did, only to get brushed off because in his eyes Jolyne was the instigator here who beat poor, poor Dio near to death over some girl

I'd imagine after this incident, the shakey bond Jolyne might've had with George snapped completely

as for Danny........

Dio would probably still kill him. Sort of as a last ditch effort, a final attempt at getting some kind of control over the situation to remind Jojo of his place and what happens if he were to cross Dio

it backfires horribly

because before, Jolyne might've forgiven him. It would have taken YEARS and a lot of growth, but Jolyne is not blind to the environment and time they live in, where women are barely more than pretty objects and Dio has been given almost free reign as a noble's new adopted son. Before, she might've been able to forgive him because Dio was barely 12 and still a child and had likely learned a lot of things that weren't good. It could have been a mistake, one that someday he could look back at and be ashamed of

but then he kills Danny. He kills Danny by locking him in the incinerator and burning him alive

and Jolyne realizes he's doing this on purpose. That this wasn't just plain jealously, this was Dio actively doing everything in his power to make sure Jolyne would hurt

He's still 12. He's still a child.

But Jolyne will not take this lying down and she vows to herself she will never be his friend

(one night when she's alone, Jolyne feels the briefest bit of relief that she's here in this body. Just for a moment, just for a second, if only so the kindhearted 12 year old Jonathan who's messy journals sit on the bookcase didn't have to face Dio by himself)

So I discovered RubyDragonQueen's/Dragoninthelabratory's drabble book on AO3. And I was like "oh shit there's a whole Tumblr thread for this?" And then I read the entire Tumblr thread and realized there was an ENTIRE MASTER LIST- full of cool Jjba Aus and whatnot and then I got way too invested into reading them and this is the result of that.

I wanted to do more for multiple Au's but I didn't have the time 😭.

THIS IS EXACTLY HOW IT GOES DOWN WHEN JOTARO TELLS MARINA

like. They'd been dating for quite a bit, and after a lot of calls and talking with Holly, Jotaro finally decides he's going to show Marina his beast from. After all, eventually she's going to figure things out, especially if this turns into a long term relationship (which he really really wants, even if it scares the hell out of him)

so he picks a night and brings Marina to a quiet, secret place out of the way and far from people to show her. His explaination is stilted and he definitely sounds crazy, but he's able to convice her to stay so he can show her proof.

And before he does...... he tells her that if she wants to run away, that's okay and he won't chase. If she's scared of him and thinks him a monster, thats fine. If she nevers wants to see him again after this, she won't have to, he'll leave without complaint. All he asks is she never speak of this to anyone

and this rare openness, this rare vulnerability, is enough to give her pause. She can read between the lines and at this point she's been around Jotaro enough to hear the silent fear

and it goes surprisingly well! Don't get me wrong, Marina is absolutely freaked out for a couple seconds since Yeah Seeing Your Boyfriend Transform In A Weird Scaley Dog Taller Than You is definitly a little scary, but she takes it in stride and the two get cloer as a result :D

but then fast forward a few months to a full moon. And Jotaro's decided he trusts himself to be around Marina and that he won't hurt her, and explains to her the specifics of what the full moon means

And everything seemingly goes fine. Marina is making breakfast, his memories are fuzzy but pleasant feeling, and he feels fine if a little tired

but then when he sits down to eat, Marina gives him a Look and a smile and slides a picture across the table

And it's him in his beastform........ covered in dirt and trying very hard to get a Too Long Stick through a doorway

Jotaro begins to feel he made a mistake

Both. I love dogs because of all the work dogs have done to make life safe and pleasant for humans, and I love cats for being weird and cute, but I don't have strong enough opinions on the matter that I would feel comfortable endorsing one.

Thinkin about sliiiightly more obviously inhuman pillarmen.

Their skulls are shaped subtly differently. It's not obvious on first glance, but the shape of the forehead is subtly different, more musculature to the jaw with added structure for those muscles to attach to.

Their teeth aren't human. They look it, save for the elongated canines, at first glance, but even the incisors are sharp, multiple sets of canine teeth, fewer molars and the ones they do have are shaped differently, better for cracking open bone than grinding plants.

They walk slightly differently. Their footsteps quieter than anything that size should be capable of, they tend to walk on the balls of their feet, balanced as well like that as any human would be with feet fully planted.

Their voices always have a subtle accent to them speaking human languages, languages not built for their subtly different mouths and vocal chords.

These differences feel all the starker comparing them to standard vampires- something that once was human besides something that was inhuman from the very start.

This is a mildly incoherent thought but like- Jotaro and Jonathan having similar Neurodivergent Self-Image Issues but wildly different reactions and ways of coping-

Jotaro stews in the isolation and isolates himself further, sits with the feelings of alienation until they turn to anger, that Something Is Wrong With Him-

Jonathan shoves all the feelings in a dark corner and tries to ignore them. He's the Perfect Gentleman after all. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. Anything else is masked, to himself as much so as externally.

I don't have much to add but in my head Jotaro and Jonathan are on both the same and opposite ends of the same Vibe simultanously and I love them for that <3

I'm just rotating in my mind the headcannon of all the Joestars being ADHD/autistic/both and it takes till like part 6 for them to realize it's not just General Joestar Bizarreness... It's actually a Thing, they're not alone or broken or cursed (okay maybe they are cursed, but this is a separate thing entirely)

Thinking about how it manifests differently for each of them but they recognize these patterns, similar struggles, and then finally get a name to it...

Or in EoH/Peanut Gallery/General time travel Jolyne shares what was learned to everyone early and there is a communal moment of Realization

all of the Joestars have a collective moment of “wait there’s a NAME for this?????”

And then even before that, specifically for things like Peanut Gallery/House of Jojo, during those moments when they’re just kinda hanging around and talking about their day to day lives they’ll have moments of “oh you do that too?” and sharing their own experiences without fully realizing it, sometimes even offering tips. Like, Josuke will make a comment about how difficult it can be to focus and Joseph with brings up hand held stims(like his clackers(those are stims you can fight me on this)), or Giorno will make a comment about how confusing Social Things can be and suddenly you’ve got all the Jojo’s sitting in a circle sharing notes about What Does This Social Thing Mean And How Are You Supposed To React.

Jolyne would definitely have suspicions, and she’s probably the only person here who would even know about it existing.
