Трёхмоторный электромобиль за $249 000 сможет предложить время разгона до 100 км/ч около 1,89 секунды и запас хода 683 км, что остаётся довольно необычным сочетанием характеристик.

На этой неделе Lucid решила уточнить технические характеристики новинки, прямо указав, что до 96 км/ч (60 миль в час) Lucid Air Sapphire будет разгоняться за 1,89 секунды, четверть мили (402 метра) преодолевать за 8,95 секунды, успевая развить на дистанции скорость 253 км/ч, а максимальная скорость будет достигать 328 км/ч. По динамическим показателям машина будет во всём чуть лучше Tesla Model S Plaid, которая формально считается основным конкурентом Lucid Air Sapphire, но при этом она будет и более чем в два раза дороже. Стоят ли 0,1 секунды преимущества во времени разгона до 96 км/ч и дополнительные 8 км/ч максимальной скорости почти $149 000 разницы в цене, каждый покупатель должен решить сам. Впрочем, по уровню отделки интерьера Lucid Air Sapphire должен превосходить Tesla Model S Plaid безоговорочно. Модель Lucid оснащается специальными спортивными сидениями, передний ряд имеет вентиляцию и подогрев.

Мощность трёхмоторной силовой установки Lucid Air Sapphire достигает 1234 л.с. против 1020 л.с. у Tesla Model S Plaid. Производство электромобилей в этой комплектации Lucid начнёт в сентябре, поставки могут начаться чуть позже, но первое время они будут предлагаться только в Северной Америке. До 160 км/ч электромобиль будет разгоняться за 3,84 секунды, он получит серьёзно переработанную подвеску и программное обеспечение, равновеликие шины на передней и задней осях (20 и 21 дюйм соответственно) будут сочетаться с углекерамическими тормозными колодками. Передние тормозные диски диаметром 420 мм будут оснащаться 10-поршневыми суппортами, а задние диаметром 390 мм будут сочетаться с 4-поршневыми суппортами. Для снижения аэродинамического сопротивления колёсные диски оснащаются съёмными колпаками из углеволокна.

Наличие планетарного редуктора в приводе задней оси и двух электродвигателей позволит гибко перераспределять тягу. Седан в этой версии получил алюминиевую крышу ради снижения центра тяжести и уменьшения веса. Система активной помощи водителю DreamDrive Pro подразумевает наличие лидара и возможность программного обновления с целью усовершенствования алгоритмов управления. Бортовая сеть с напряжением 900 В призвана ускорять зарядку тягового аккумулятора, ёмкости которого достаточно для преодоления без остановки до 683 км по условному циклу EPA.
