Oh yeah! I forgot to post this a bit ago and i decided that I should because- I wanted to see people's reaction to it!:D I scratched the original paint off of one of those laptop-desk-thingies people us on the floor or in bed and basically went eenie-meenie-miene-mo
also the fact that Mikey was fronting with me (I'm a ROTTMNT sys!) at the time so we decided on Mikey>:)
so, Here's my progress as of Saturday. I can't take pictures of my current progress because- well- I'm away from home at the moment, but here's the unfinished version, along with a version that I drew up in chromebook gallery with a mouse pad with the original lines so you could see them better:) (very crappy lmao)

I’ve seen your digital art and you’re so amazing at it!! How long have you been drawing digitally and any tips for those who might be interested in digital art?
Tumblr media
ahhhhhhh thank you!!!!!!!! ! ! :) uhh the timeline is hard to say.. i’ve been drawing (on paper) my whole youth. then i started college and drew on photoshop with a tablet for about 4 years, and then i got an ipad. and now i’ve been drawing on that for the past 3? so ALL of the stuff you see me post now and on instagram is done on the ipad lol
some tips for digital art:
- lmao u don’t need to go to art school to learn how to draw. (i personally did cos i never was able to pursue art…. the way i’ve wanted?) there’s so much you can learn and explore on your own, especially if you view it as an intimate hobby [instead of a career path]. honestly i think so MANY of u gif-makers and photo-editors are better and more versed than me HAHA (pls teach me)
- practice drawing by hand on paper! like little scribbly stuff just to understand how much pressure you put on paper –– it’ll be different when you translate it digitally but at least you know what you NEED to do when you get there. it’s just nice to be loose and gestural when you start
- get an understanding of “the human form.” like draw from life or draw from pictures to understand proportions and stuff so things look “realistic.” and once you have a good feeling for it you can start to make it your own!!!! u can make it crazy and exaggerate –– it’ll always look amazing so long as you start with that foundation
- get a drawing tablet or ipad pro lmao. (if you can) personally i am.. so bad at using tablets cos of the disconnect, but programs on the computer are MUCH better than ipad. i just like the ipad cos of the portability and i like digital art cos i never feel like i’m “wasting materials.” lol i know ppl can do shit with their mouse or track pad but that is NOT me lmao (i applaud u,, u absolute units)
- consume lots of other work!!!! look at people’s artwork that you like and learn from them! you can do work that is “similar” just don’t copy or trace original art. i think you can learn a lot from admiration (and also send them love!) we learn a lot from looking, and it’s super inspiring to see all the things you CAN do
- practice, practice, practice. you’re gonna need to do hundreds of drawings before you feel good about them (or idk maybe u love everything u make haha). to me, so many of my things look like shit at the beginning but that’s just a part of the process. it HAS to go through work to look good, and that’s normal! keep hacking away, keep scrapping and remaking, keep sketching and you’ll get there! you need certain things to become instinctual and you need to let yourself get comfortable :) and practice does that!!! ! ! !
- this is not necessary but… share it! i think seeing you drawings printed, or posted or hung on the wall does something amazing to your confidence. whether or not it gets attention, it’s SO FUCKING COOL to see your shit put up professionally!! like WOW, it got somewhere!!! that’s dope
- and this is another thing that is not necessary but –– if your art is portable, make a date out of it. go to a coffee shop and draw, or draw in the grass or light some candles and make it romantic. i think it’s just a fun thing to do to unwind and you can make a really nice hour or two out of it. :)
AH! sorry i wrote so much. i am just passionate lmao –– anyway, i hope you all the best with your creative journeys! i am nowhere near a finish line but that’s alright! all the best to us!🌿
