Random thoughts...

A couple of years passed without any form of communication between you and I. Now that we've established some kind of 'connection', I can definitely see how far we've grown apart. Looking back, I always thought you and I have very little common ground. Yes, we have the same set of friends but our interest varies greatly. That's why I never imagined us falling for each other.

Maybe it was a case of 'opposites attract'. You we're really NOT my ideal type back then: boyish, band-drummer, math geek, computer games pro, clingy, happy-go-lucky, wear-his-heart-out-on-his-sleeves type of guy. You were someone I never would've thought of falling for. And up to now, I also still wonder which of my traits made you fall for me back then: studious, awkward fashionphile, conservative, oc-perfectionist, mild introvert, curfew-til-midnight type of girl. Maybe, NOT exactly your ideal type as well. I was never overtly outgoing or a rule-breaker. I was always cautious and not exactly a risk-taker. All that changed when you made me fall for your silly-jokes and sweet gestures. I would not go into details of how things had ended between us since that's not really the point of this random post.

So yeah, looking back and looking at what we've become now... I could see that maybe even if we tried harder to stay together, we'll never really end up with each other anyway. We have a lot of differences, things that would eventually lead to a break-up at some point coz I know we'll never be able to reconcile.

I see it now, I see why it had to happen then. To save us time. For us to realize that we're not compatible. Maybe we complemented each other for the briefest time possible and that we were happy when we like the same thing and miserable when we don't.

We're not meant to be.

We never will be.

I guess, we were just each other's accidental 'detour' along the opposite path we're headed towards. :)
