Her father was the reigning British monarch, George III. She was therefore a descendant, in an unbroken male (though illegitimate) line, of King Charles II. About Alice; ◼ Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, born Alice Christabel Montagu Douglas Scott; was the wife & then widow of Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, the third son of George V & Mary of Teck. ◼ The daughter of the 7th Duke of Buccleuch & Queensberry, Scotland’s largest landowner, her brothers Walter & William and her nephew John were all Conservative MP’s. The charity trains assistance dogs to support people with disabilities to live more independently.
