Jamie talking about his daughter, Dulcie imitating his accent.
She just turned four and she’s already mocking my accent. I remember thinking it would be nice if she says the odd word in Irish accent but actually she… Well, there’s a book we read her every night called, ‘Bedtime Bear’ and it goes around all these different animals that come out of different places. There’s a bison in a basin and an owl in a towel. My daughter is sort of, quite posh and English and she’s like, 'an owl in a towel.’ And then we go, say it like Daddy and it’s amazing what she does, she goes, 'an owwll in a towwell.’

Jamie Dornan’s daughters ‘obsessed’ with his singing in films
Belfast star’s girls love his film voice but youngest can’t grasp he’s an actor
Tumblr media
Jamie Dornan performs at the after-party for the premiere of Belfast in LA in November
Jamie Dornan’s daughters are obsessed with his singing in films — but his youngest girl cannot yet grasp the concept of him being an actor.
The star (39) said all three of his girls are particularly fixated on a scene in Barb And Star Go To Vista Del Mar in which he serenades a seagull and frolics on a beach.
Holywood native Jamie said about his children Dulcie (8), Elva (5) and Alberta (2) — who he shares with his wife of nearly nine years, film composer Amelia Warner (39) — “They’ve watched Barb and Star. When I say they watch it, I mean they mostly just watch my song.
“That’s what they’re obsessed with. Even the two-year-old is obsessed with that and wants to watch that all the time. So that’s on our most-watched YouTube playlist, probably.”
He added his girls’ other fixation on his voice role in Trolls led to him begging studio Universal to give him a part in Trolls World Tour.

But Jamie said his appearance has confused little Alberta as she cannot yet grasp the concept of him being on film.
He added: “Their obsession with Trolls was so real that I pleaded with Universal to let me be in Trolls World Tour, which I did a small part in. So that was very exciting for the kids to have daddy in that. And just recently I walked in on our five-year-old trying to explain that to our two-year-old. She had sort of paused Trolls World Tour at the point when my character would come in.
“And she was trying to explain to the two-year-old that who she was about to see and hear was actually daddy. But the two-year-old, her mind wasn’t really ready for that sort of information. It was too high concept for her.
“And then I sat with them whilst my part was on and was like going, ‘That’s daddy.’ And she just wasn’t getting it. So there’s work to be done there.”
Jamie said he doesn’t think his girls are ready to watch him star as Pa in Sir Kenneth Branagh’s Troubles-era film, Belfast.

But he added he can’t wait until they are old enough to see the Oscar-tipped movie as it is so close to his heart.
He said: “That’s where I’m from. It’s so personal for so many different reasons to me and would be to my family.
“I think for my kids too, this understanding of that movie because daddy’s been talking about it for a very long time and daddy’s always going off to his office to do press for this movie. And they’re like, ‘Why do people want to talk about this movie more than anything else you’ve done?’
“They were very aware and I think that’s because our lead is a nine-year-old boy. That’s really exciting to them because when I was filming, he would make these videos, and I’d show them to my girls and stuff so they have a connection to that.
“And because of the praise it’s getting, it’s a good one to be showing the kids at some stage. I’ll look forward to that day.”

Epilogue
Yeah, that’s great!”
“So you’ll be able to fly down here by next August?”
I rummage through my purse for my keys, “Yes, as long as they give me that house for my family to stay in.”
“Of course, Dakota, we’re happy to do that for you!” The director tells me.
Shutting the door behind me, I toss my coat onto the coat rack, “Alright then, it’s a done deal!”
“Writing the press release as we speak, thanks again!”
“See ya!” I tell him before ending the phone call.
Releasing a relaxed sigh, I kicked off my shoes and tossed my bag onto the staircase, figuring I’d just grab it later. I just booked an amazing part for myself and I feel like celebrating. As I slowly make my way towards the kitchen, the familiar voices of Jamie and Nathan’s laughter fill my ears. I peek my head out from the hallway and spot them together on the floor, Jamie balancing our son on his feet, pretending to be flying an aeroplane while Blues Clues played on the television in the background. I cross my arms and lean on the wall, admiring the view. It took a few more seconds for Jamie to notice my presence. As soon as he did, he smiles at me and brings Nathan into his arms before standing up.
“Look, Nathan! Mama’s home!” He says as lifts Nathan’s palm up to give me a wave.
I swoon and walk in their direction with open arms, “Hi there, baby boy! Oh, I’ve missed you, come here!” I say as I reach them and he reaches out to me.
Jamie places him in my arms and I immediately press my nose against his round head. He smells so good, a mixture of Jamie and baby soap.
“Did you get the part?” Jamie asks.
“Yeah,” I smile while bouncing Nathan in my arms, “and a house for all of you to stay in.”
He leans down to kiss me, “Congratulations!”
“Thanks baby.”
We head off towards the kitchen and Jamie starts pulling things out for dinner. The girls were due to be dropped off any minute soon, and tonight we’re planning on having a massive feast to celebrate, well, us.
“I can’t believe he’ll be a year old in two months.” Jamie sighs as he gets the steak out of the fridge.
“I know,” I say while handing Nathan his favourite elephant doll on the kitchen counter, “speaking of time flying so fast, have you heard from the caterer yet?”
He groans, “I think we might have to switch.”
“Again?”
“It’s just, I haven’t found one that does the perfect slider yet.”
I roll my eyes, “Are you marrying me or those little burgers?”
“Hey! Burgers are important to me.”
“We’ve switched caterers three times, Jamie! At this point we’ll get married by the time Nathan turns five.”
He gives up, “Alright, fine! But only because I love you.”
I blow a kiss into the thin air, eliciting a laugh from Nathan. The past ten months have been so hectic. With wedding planning and Jamie having to go away for filming for a while, I lost all my baby weight in about two months. I look down at the ring on my finger; my wedding ring will accompany it soon. Wow, I’m actually going to be a Mrs.
“Do you realise that Dulcie and I will share the same initials?”
“And I love it.” He winks at me, opening a beer bottle at the same time.
I wipe some drool off Nathan’s chin, “Have you finished writing your vows?”
“No need,” he points to his head, “I got it all up here.”
“Well then we know this wedding’s gonna be a disaster.”
“Hey!”
I laugh, “What, Dornan?”
“Don’t underestimate my intellect, where do you think our son gets it?”
I point to myself, “Right here.”
He mockingly glares at me, “I’d like to fight that-”
“But it’s true.” I shrug and wink at him.
The sound of the front door opening startles us both and in comes running Dulcie and Elva, quickly shrugging off their backpacks and hurling themselves at us.
“Nathan, Nathan!” Elva squeals as she clings to my waist.
I crouch down so that we were on face level, “Hi babies, did you have a good day at school today?”
“We did!” Dulcie smiles as she gives her father a hug, “I got another A for spelling!”
Jamie swings an arm around his daughter and they both walk to us, “I’m so proud of you!”
Dulcie frees herself from her father’s grip and holds her arms out to hold Nathan. I gently place him in his sister’s arms and a smile breaks across his face. He loves them so much, always dreading it when they go back home at the end of the night.
“Careful.” Jamie says as he pats the top of her head.
Dulcie rolls her eyes, “Yeah, daddy I know! Come on, Elva, let’s take Nathan outside!”
The kids make their way out to the backyard, Elva immediately jumping on the swing set we got last month. Dulcie sits on the bigger swing, with Nathan on her lap while she rocks him gently. I feel Jamie wrap his arms around me and I lay my head on his chest, feeling his heartbeat.
“Look at them, can you believe how lucky we are?”
He buries his nose in my hair, “I can’t believe how lucky I am.”
I turn around to face him, “I’m so glad you walked into that audition room, all those years ago.”
“And I’m so glad you chose me.”
“I didn’t choose you,” I smiled, “fate did.”
A cheesy grin decorates his face, “Someone’s grown soft.”
I scoff and turn back around to face our children, our children. Jamie and I have gone through hell and back to get to where we are now, and I believe that no matter what happens, we’ll always get through it. Nothing will break us.
I feel his lips on my ear, “I vow to make you feel loved for the rest of my life.”
A hum of satisfaction escapes my lips, “Save it for the altar.”
He kisses my temple, “I wanted to give you a preview.”
“That’s it, Nathan, go, go!” Elva calls out while Dulcie holds Nathan up in his attempt to walk.
Jamie tightens his grip around me, “We’ll be down in a second.”
I close my eyes, suddenly feeling overwhelmed with emotions. Placing my hands over Jamie’s arms, all the memories we’ve built flashed through my thoughts. I suddenly remember filming the meadow scene, the both of us in the grass with that sweet little boy. I open my eyes; somehow that came to life, and it came to life in the best way possible. I must’ve done something right in my previous life to be blessed like this.
“Hey, my love,” Jamie whispers, “where are you right now?”
I smile, “I’m home.”
The End.

JAMIE DORNAN CONCEDE ENTREVISTA PARA THE TIMES UK
Tumblr media
É a hora de pararmos de estar com tanto medo de discutir a morte? Sim, dizem especialistas em luto. O ator Jamie Dornan, que perdeu a mãe em sua adolescência, concorda.
Jamie: “Eu lembro o dia vividamente. Eu estava tão zangado e confuso; minha mente estava girando.

Thirty-Five
“Oh my God, I want this thing out of me already!” I scream as loud as I can, hoping that a miracle would happen and suddenly the baby just slides out of me.
Jamie winces at how tightly I was squeezing his hand, another contraction rolling down my body. Pain, absolute pain. That was the only thing that could describe what I felt at the moment. I had gone into labour exactly five hours ago, immediately after coming home from an audition. Apparently, I got too excited at getting the part that my water broke. You’d think that after two kids, Jamie would be able to get through this calmly. The idiot panicked as much as I did, running around the house like a lunatic, trying to get all my stuff into my duffle bag.
“Breathe, baby just-”
“I swear to all that’s holy James Peter Maxwell Dornan if you tell me to breathe one more time I will make you regret it.”
He shuts up immediately, waiting for my contraction to finish. After it does, I calm down slightly and lay my head back down on the pillow, my hold on his hand relaxing. I close my eyes for a while in an attempt to calm my breathing.
“You’re mean when you’re in labour.”
My eyes snap open, “Need I remind you it was you who got me pregnant.”
“Yeah, well maybe someone should’ve remembered her shot.”
I glare at him, “Don’t test me.”
His gaze softens and he stands up to place a kiss on my forehead, “I’m sorry baby, I know you’re in pain.”
“Make it stop Jamie,” I plead, “please, I’ll do anything.”
His expression told me that he wished he was able to take the pain from me and that he so desperately wished that I didn’t have to go through this, “I’m sorry.”
“I know,” I nod as he runs a hand through my hair, “just distract me please until I have to push.”
“How about we go through names again?”
I agree with him and skim through the list I have now memorised in my mind, “So other than our top two, do you still want Hadie as a possible name?”
He shrugs, “I honestly don’t know how I feel about it now. I kinda like Violet more.”
“But I thought you said Violet seemed too old-school?”
“Yeah,” he smiles, “but that’s what I like about it.”
All of a sudden, I feel the familiar pressure building up again and Jamie instinctively places his hand back in mine, “Here comes another one.”
“Oh fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck!” I curse as pain overtakes my entire being.
Jamie’s eyes flip up and I can tell he was uttering a silent prayer to God to just speed up my delivery process. The doctor was due back any minute now and we were both keeping our fingers crossed that I get to push soon.
“What about Oliver?” I mutter through gritted teeth.
“That’s out.”
I hiss, “Noah?”
“Nah,” he shakes his head, “I still like Callum better.”
The pain resides slightly and I moan, “Has my mom landed yet?”
He quickly pops his phone out of his pocket and glances at it, “She just texted me saying that she’s stuck in baggage claim and it’s killing her not to be here.”
“It’s killing her?” I yell, “Tell her to get on a helicopter here straight away I need her!”
“Thank God Dulcie and Elva aren’t here; they’d be dying out of stress.” He rolls his eyes.
Tears stream out of my eyes, eliciting fear in his as he immediately cradles me in his arms, “I’m so sorry, Dakota. Oh God baby, I’m so, so sorry.”
“Make it stop, Jamie, make it stop!”
Right on cue, the doctor makes her way back into the room. She doesn’t seem at all startled by the expression on my face, she’s probably used to it.
“Alright, should we see how we’re going?” She says as she rolls a chair over between my legs.
Jamie’s face was burning with rage, clearly now wanting to get this over with as much as I did, “Please tell me she can push.”
The doctor examines me for a while, and then her eyes light up, “She can.”
I freeze, “I can?”
“Yes, you can.”
The next string of events happened so fast I could barely register it with my mind. A flurry of nurses started making their way into the room and Jamie was given instructions on how to handle me during the next few minutes. My legs were propped up in front of me and I was almost in a sitting position because apparently, it’ll lessen the pain. I highly doubt anything could lessen the pain.
“Alright, Dakota are you ready?”
I shake my head furiously, “No.”
The doctor laughs, “Come on, in a few minutes it’ll all be worth it.”
Jamie has one hand around my shoulders and the other in my right palm, “Come on, baby.”
“Three, two, one, push.”
The doctor orders me to do so and I comply, putting all my strength into it. The pain was incredible. I saw a white light in front of my eyes, nearly passing out. I thought the contractions were bad, this was on a whole other level. I release myself from my push, hoping that the baby was already out.
“Alright, that’s great let’s do it again.”
“Again?” I scream.
Jamie laughs, “You can do it.”
“Don’t laugh at me!”
“I’m not baby,” he kisses my temple, “you can, come on.”
The doctor looks at me, “And, go!”
I can’t understand how a tiny baby could make it feel as if a whale was trying to make its way out of my body. I felt pressure in all sorts of places and I was sweating like a pig. This is probably the most unattractive I’ve been my entire life.
“That’s good, Dakota!” The doctor encourages me, “Alright the baby’s crowning so I need you to push with everything that you’ve got.”
“What do you think I’ve been doing so far?” I said with a shriek.
She smiles, “We’re going to need you to push even harder, just a little bit more and you’ll be a mom.”
“Jamie,” I turn to him, “I can’t!”
He nods at me, “Yes you can, I know you can.”
I turn back towards the doctor and she counts down. I push with all that I have to the point where there was a ringing in my ears. It felt like the room was so crowded, and if Jamie weren’t here I’d probably bolt out the door, wanting to escape from all the eyes staring at me.
“That’s it, we need one more for the shoulders!”
“You hear that, baby? Push!”
He’s called me baby over a hundred times over the past hour, I know he’s trying to reassure me that everything will be fine. I squeeze his hand so hard I swear I could break it off. Come on, one more, one more. I keep chanting that to myself in my head. Come on, come on, come on.
Suddenly, I felt an enormous release from the pressure and loud cries filled the entire room.
The doctor gasps, “Oh my God! He’s gorgeous!”
My eyes flutter open and the first thing I see is tears on Jamie’s cheeks, “He?”
“Congratulations, you have a son!”
My jaw drops, “A boy?”
“A beautiful boy!” The doctor shows him to us.
He was red and blotchy, but the most gorgeous thing I have ever laid eyes on in this planet. Even from a distance, I could tell he was going to be a replica of Jamie. He was loud as hell, a quality he got from me. The nurses took him from her and started cleaning him up at the other end of the room. I look up at Jamie.
“We have a boy!”
He wipes the tears from his face and buries his nose in my hair, “We have a boy.”
Everyone was right, all the pain was worth it. The happiness I felt at this very moment was something unlike I have ever experienced before.
“Would you like to cut the cord?” One of the nurses calls out to Jamie.
He looks at me as if he was asking for permission to leave me alone for a few seconds. I let go of his hand, nodding enthusiastically. He practically sprints to the other side of the room.
“Holy hell, those are big balls!” He exclaims.
I roll my eyes, “We all know where he got that from.”
Everyone in the room laughs at my inappropriate comment, including the doctor who was still between my legs, taking care of me down there. I see the nurse hand our baby over to his father. The look on Jamie’s face, oh Lord. That look will be plastered in my memory for the rest of my life. He was looking down at him like he was his entire world, and I could see the love he had for his son. So this is why people have children.
He walks back to me and sits by my side, “Meet your mama.”
He places our son into my waiting arms before swinging his back over my shoulder, holding me close to him. He looks even more handsome now, after being cleaned up. His cries had calmed down; I assume from being with us now. How is it possible to love someone this much? Someone who had only been in the world for a few minutes?
“Hi,” I say to him and poke his little nose with my finger.
“You did so well,” Jamie kisses my forehead as he rubs my shoulder, “I’m so proud of you.”
I beam and place a kiss on my son’s head, “Hey, good-looking. You’re going to break so many hearts when you grow up, just like your father.” I tease.
He chuckles as the doctor finishes with me and stands up, “Do we have a name?” she asks.
We look at each other. A huge smile breaks across his face and he nods at me.
“Nathan Alexander Dornan.”
The doctor claps, “Welcome to the world, Nathan!”
Nathan wrapping his hand around my thumb catches my attention. I look back at him, feeling obsessed. He is the only man who owns me as much as Jamie does. Jamie places a palm on top of his head and starts caressing his blonde hair.
I smirk, “So, about planning our wedding.”
Jamie bursts out laughing, “I love you, the both of you, so much.”
I turn my face to his and happily welcome his lips on mine, “Nathan has a hell of a dad.”
“And the most incredible woman as his mom.”
P.S. Thanks to @gigglydakota for helping me find a name for Nathan.
