CONGRATULATIONS TO RYOKO KUI SENSEI 🎉 and HAPPY DUNGEON MESHI ANIME TO ALL OF US!!! Let's have some hot pot to celebrate! Senshi (@fae2day on twitter) invites you to tuck in!
This is the first of many dishes we recreated during our cosplay cabin weekend! I will be making a little series of them to celebrate the anime. ☺️
If folks are interested, I would be happy to share the recipes I modified for these dishes & the ingredients I substituted for monsters. In these pictures, I made Senshi's costume, fae2day is wearing it, and we all pitched in to help with prep, styling, and cooking.
Pictures are by @mothmana and fae2day! I also did the edits with the help of @anhdang

I was so pleased with the reception my lil take on marcille got! People were VERY opinionated on what monster food looked the yummiest and very vocal with their affections for this nervous nerd.
Also shout out to those who thought I added glasses because she has big geek energy and not because I have poor eye sight.
📸 by convention johnny on the spot dtjaaaam ! Thank you so much for these great hall shots! Check out their page!

Have a Thistle I'm working on, I had to get some test photos with the wig even tho the costume is barely started.
As always the editing is me touching a bunch of stuff and treating it like it's digital art bc it's the thing I know how to do so fdhkjas photo editing in clip studio bc it's what I have XD
This is not the wig I’m gonna use, I just threw on an old wig to see if this would be the color I wanted to get, but I’m 100% not lying when I said I’m gonna cosplay chimera Falin, mark my words I will find some way to engineer that
"that damn white boy keeps coming into my dungeon and eating all my various beafts" - Thistle
YIPPEE Thistle is done! Dungeon meshi has had my brain in a gorilla grip for months and I really wanted to make something from it. I was already drawn towards Thistle for his jester aesthetic, but I ended up becoming quite fond of his character too, which I am oft to do haha. He was a fun one to add accents to and play around with his various vibes, although blunt cutting his bangs physically pained me.
The main jacket is made of 3 yards of purple microsudede and red matte satin, both from big Z fabrics. The pattern was McCall's M6800 (one of my all time favorites!)
There are organza sleeve petticoats in the arms to add extra volume. Additional weathering was added to the seams using black pigment powders for dimension. The underskirt is a full double circle skirt. The wig is an arda wigs luthern silky in mica. the arms are a polyester ribbed fabric from joanns that was dyed purple. (fun fact! I did actually attempt to dye the microsuede with a blue/purple gradient but holy moses this polyester microsuede absolutely refuses to uptake dye. I tried valiantly, but ultimately made peace with just purple)
Working on a Chilchuck cosplay from Dungeon Meshi and figured I should document it! It's going to take a while because I don't have a lot of money right now, but I'm getting what I can done while I look for a job.
So, here's the progress on the scarf as of Feb 11, 2024
I'm crocheting it using a moss stitch with weight 4 yarn and a 5mm hook. After I've gotten it long enough, I will connect the short sides to make it an infinity scarf like the one he wears.
Next thing I needed to do was dye a shirt, because I have plenty of white long sleeve button ups, but his is more of a brownish-creamish color. Here's the shirt I ended up using. It has some tiny blue stains (I don't know what they are...) but that area will be covered by the armor anyway.
The dye that I used was actually tea, because I didn't want the shirt getting TOO dark.
