Kansas City restaurants are putting a unique spin on deviled eggs for Easter. These delicious, hard-boiled treats have become a staple on many Easter tables, but KC chefs are taking things up a notch by offering deviled eggs that are dressed up with various ingredients and flavors. Sometimes, old American books about trees are all "This tree is unshapely, has ragged and irregular growth and has little economic value." but I was wrong to characterize them all as such, because for every capitalist-minded book about the USA's trees that is like "ough we gotta exploit every living thing" there's also a book like this:
The book is called Our Friends the Trees and it was written in the 1930's and this is the VERY FIRST PARAGRAPH, no introduction no nothing, just going all in taking no prisoners from the very first line and it CONTINUES like this for the WHOLE book there is ZERO chill throughout the whole length of the book
Islam Bassam Barbari will be hosting a livestream event on Instagram tonight at 7 pm ET/21 GMT.
This is a great opportunity for people to learn about life in north Gaza from the people who are living it, and especially to support the work of Islam and other people who are documenting the genocide.
Please attend if you have the time. If you don’t have an Instagram account, you can create one for free with any valid email address. I will try to record the session and post it afterward, but I have limited digital memory, and for some reason it is also very difficult for me to upload videos to Tumblr, so I can’t make any promises. Hence, attending personally is best.
Here is the link to Islam’s account. When the livestream begins, click on the link to go to his account, and then click on his profile picture to join the livestream.
Oh, what a beautiful start to the week! The #Bluebirds have been here and checked out the nestbox. The male goes in first, then the female follows. The nestbox is a homemade Gilbertson style but with 6 instead of 4 inches in diameter. I elevated the bottom with a grid so that debris and larvae can fall through below the nest. The white "mesh" is to hide the grid, it seemed to irritate them last season.
