Oh look, tumblr outdid my russian blogs

Why do I keep buying art supplies if I haven't touched a pencil in 2 months (and haven't created any art in 2 years) Force of habit and a vague hope, I suppose

I wanted to brag about fulfilling a silly little dream of getting an ace ring (but I’m still not sure this amethyst one is the one I like most).

The thought of such little tokens existing is so heartwarming and sad at the same time since the entire experience is so lonely and alienating when any deviation from the norm is quite literally illegal, and even the a rainbow can get you a steep fine. But hey, it’s not like 99,9% of people in my country have any idea about ace spectrum to begin with, so being non-existent is good… I guess?

But look at this sunset light!1 It was too perfect not to film!

A when you DO start to treat anxiety with medication and therapy that avoidance tactic flies out of the window and people start having panic attacks/full blown existential crisis.

And that is supposedly a progress.

Having your main anxiety response be Avoidance is crazy cause you'll think you're chillin and then one day you're like waitttt I've been paralyzed with fear this whole time. Damn

Having deadline on a day when you completely cut your medication (and reliving every drug withdrawal scene form every say-no-to-drugs movie) was an incredibly stupid move.

I've worked on a book about russian folk epics in January and it's finally out. One of the biggest number of illustrations I've ever done in one project.

Solovei (Nightingale) the bandit — a killer with a deathly whistle that came through many transformations with time. The classic chthonic antagonist, he had various snake and monster features, which soon made way for traits of the Turkic people (aka the usual threat to Rus). In XVII, however, he can already be seen depicted in Polish clothing! A fun titbit on how the image of an antagonist can evolve with time and geopolitical changes)

I get asked at times whether it's possible to buy books with my art abroad. Here's the site (kniga.lv) that has been recommended to me by publisher and where it IS possible to get most of russian books (meaning mine too) So far only the book about the slavic demons is there out of the newest series but I'll keep checking for when the epics one will get posted!

A friend that I haven't seen for months said something that deeply stuck with me today.

She said that my name has come up several times with her own therapist, and they both came to conclusion that she haven't ever met me without depression.

We know each other for 11 years, this is one of my closest friends. What even is the real me at this point?

A sudden request but hey

I know I’ll come off as completely insensitive and dismissive but can you, while reblogging my art, write about your disdain for the subject/author elsewhere?

Everyone has their feelings, and I completely understand that those are often justified and have nothing to do with my art or me, but I’m already in an extremely terrible and vulnerable place and don’t want to make it worse by opening my notifications.

I don’t fucking know Marion Bradley, I haven’t even read all Mists of Avalon. That art is (was) literally my job. I didn’t (don’t) have a luxury of refusing an interesting well paid project because the author was terrible.

Of course it couldn't miss the most famous bogatyr (hero) trio in recent history — Dobrynya Nikititch, Ilya Muromets & Alesha Popovitch. They are the most memorable heroes of what is now called the Kievan epics cycle, but there are way more motifs and notable regions with more than 400 epics in total.

Congratulations are in order, I’m not getting hospitalized for at least a month!

Really hoping the new treatment will finally kick in, psych ward in that hospital sounds like a nightmare fuel and I don’t have money for an upgrade.

Still have work deadline hanging, hoping for a miracle there too.
