Two weeks have passed since losing Miso. A week and a half since Mrs Kim had made the decision to rehome Namjoon’s duck to someone with an entire flock. The first visit to Tae’s house had felt lonely. Your heart aching when you had looked out the back door, hitting hard when realizing there will never be another moment where you can see the duck that had captured your heart.

Never another time where you’ll see him waddle around his enclosure, swimming in his little pond and feasting on his food. No more chances of teasing Tae that he should’ve chosen the name ‘Cow’ instead for Miso’s black and white features. Tae had held you close when you lost it in his room. Quieting you each time you tried to apologize for being so dramatic and telling you that it’s never easy to lose something you love.

Comforting you when you should’ve been comforting him.

He’d been the one to lose his childhood pet. He’d been eight when his parents introduced the idea of getting their sons a pet to help combat the stress of moving to a foreign country and the difficulties of language barriers. But dogs were out of the equation. The high maintenance of providing a good life clashed with their bustling one. And cats didn’t stand a chance for consideration with Mr Kim’s allergy.

The idea of welcoming birds into their home merely falling into their laps on a random afternoon when they’d traveled to the local farming supply store, and Namjoon had been enraptured by the assortment of ducks and chicks for sale.

Miso had been there for Tae through it all. Through his high school graduation, through his romances and heartbreak. Through the heartache that came when Jin and Namjoon moved out to study in prestigious universities in different parts of the country. He’d always been there, and it hurts that now he’s not.

He’s scrolling through Twitter when you climb into his front seat. His gentle humming to the unfamiliar song from his Spotify is music to your ears. “Hi, Babe.” Tae closes out of the app, dropping his phone into its designated cup holder before leaning across the console to greet you with a kiss.

“Hi,” you smile, buckling yourself in. “Where are we going?”

“It’s a surprise.” Showing that he’s serious about being spontaneous. He’s never been one to do surprises, always spoiling it before he can stop himself. “But it’s a bit of a drive. Would you like a silly little beverage for the ride?”

“Of course.”

The neighborhood is quiet. Despite the picturesque sky and the warm, welcoming sun, there’s not a single soul in sight. It’s the perfect weather for a leisurely adventure.

“You’re very serious about being spontaneous,” you comment. He reaches, his hand finding its favorite place upon your thigh. “You’re usually horrible at keeping secrets.” Tae bursts out laughing. His beautiful smile filling his face. “But I love it. I can’t wait to see what you have planned.”

“Trust me,” he snorts. “I almost blew this one too.”

He stops at a small gas station not too far from your house. Gathering a snack and drink each before piling back into his car to begin the adventure he’s so excited about. Road trips with him are fun. From singing along to your favorite songs, forcing him into duets of songs he pretends to hate, to the ridiculous little comments made that send you both into fits of lighthearted giggles. Even with no clear destination in mind, it doesn’t feel like you’re traveling for long, and after an hour, you arrive.

“An industrial park?” You tease. Pretending you don’t notice the sign for a small trail tucked away in a mess of trees. Tae lunges at you, wrapping you in his arms and lifting you off the ground. “I was joking!” You exclaim through giggles.

“No, not an industrial park, you dingus.” His own laughter mingles with yours, and he sets you back onto the ground. “Hobi was talking about this trail. And I found this. Thought it would be fun to get out and explore.”

And so you do.

Following the paved pathway through winding trees. Gentle sounds of rushing water are distant background noise but loud enough to coax you away. You set out to explore, finding dirt paths and stairs, worn down grass and hills to climb. A beautiful little creek hides amongst it all, and you’ve never felt so carefree.

The path is small. A welcoming swing overlooks a hill that peers down onto the water, but after finding a spider hidden within the webs and Tae’s refusal to kill it, you carry on. Going until the path ends in another parking lot and you start making the trek back.

“This was fun. I’m glad we came.” You swing your hand entwined with his, basking in the different sights and noises that surround you. And Tae beams, proud of himself for a successful day. “I bet there are so many more beautiful places to discover.”

“We’re not done yet,” he promises. And when you return to his car, rather than get into it, Tae drags you along, continuing the walk. Following a sidewalk that runs alongside the creek and leads into a busier part of this small town.

“Now city hall? Are we going to pay our property taxes?”

He heaves a sigh. Trying his hardest to seem annoyed but falling victim to a laugh. “Fine, that one was funny,” Tae admits. “But no, we’re not going to city hall.” The sidewalk ends, a marker points in the direction of where the trail reconnects. And after crossing a small street and passing through another parking lot, you’re back on track. Stumbling upon a small pond.

“This is cute,” you smile. Loving what different treasures are hidden about. Even in the midst of the bustle of small town traffic, the cutest little pond offers peace. “I can’t believe this is here, and that you found it.”

“Wait, there’s more!” Tae reaches for your hand. He drags you along, moving a little faster than before. A small red bridge crosses over the creek, and he doesn’t stop until you’re on the opposite side. “Surprise!”

And tears spring to your eyes. A small flock of ducks. All gathered under the tree for shade from the unforgiving sun. A few stragglers even swim in the water. “Taehyung!” He beckons you into his arms. Holding you close and his sweet laugh is music to your ears. “I can’t believe you!”

“I wanted to surprise you.” His hand wraps around the back of your head. Holding you, comforting you while you sob into his chest. “It’s been so heartbreaking seeing how hard you’ve been taking Miso’s death.”

Your heart floods with warmth. The tears that fall are filled with the love that overflows, and you can’t find the words to describe all that he is to you.

“I love you,” you beam. “I love you so much.”

“And I love you even more.” Tae presses a soft kiss to your head, giving you an affectionate squeeze before slipping from your grasp. “Come on, let’s feed them. There’s a machine over here.” And he drags you back across the bridge towards a large stand where two dispensers are filled with pellets.

“I left my wallet in your car.”

He scoffs, “As if I’ll let you pay. I’ve come prepared.” Tae dips into his front pocket, retrieving a handful of quarters. And with the largest, proudest smile upon his face, he thrusts his hand towards you.

“I’m so spoiled.” But he passes a couple to you, holding the rest securely while the dispenser releases a load of pellets into your awaiting hands. “Come on!” You beam. Leaving Tae being as you race back towards the flock.

But he doesn’t speak. Still watching with a loving smile, he allows you the moment to bask in this happiness.

A couple ducks take interest at what’s in your hands. Inching their way towards you when you toss food in their general direction. Tears of utter bliss threaten to spill, and you lower to your knees when others become curious.

“Tae,” you whisper. He stands off to the right, not wanting to risk scaring them off if he were to come closer. “Look at them. Look at the babies.” He digs for his phone. Memorializing the moment with pictures.

He’s unaware that your heart is on the brink of exploding. From the overwhelming love that resides for your second favorite animal to the immense love that your heart possesses for him and only him. A few tears slip through your lashes, the only way you can express the emotions that bubble inside you.

You’ve never had someone care so much for you. And you’re not sure what you’ve done to deserve this.

Tae’s patient as you continue feeding the ducks. His smile not budging each time you return for pellets, and when his stash of change runs dry, it’s your cue to leave. You walk back to his car hand-in-hand. But you cling to him, your arms wrapped around his. Your head against his bicep, desperate to shower him with your love and affection after all he’d done for you. You’re desperate for him to know how in love with him you are.

“Have fun?” He asks.

But he has no idea. You nod. “Best day ever.” And a small tint of red burns in his face. “I love you so much. Thank you for doing this for me.”

He shrugs, as if it were nothing. But his permanent grin gives him away, how proud he is that he’s come up with this idea. “I’m glad. You deserved this,” he replies, and you heart is not safe. Seconds from combusting. You’re impatient to get back to your house and love on him well into the night.

The drive back is peaceful. Exhausting settling in from the heat, you two ride in comfortable silence. Halfway through the drive, his phone buzzes with a message from his mom. He asks you to answer, sneaking the briefest glance at the screen. And when his phone unlocks, opening to their last conversation, one of the numerous photos he’d taken stares back with a message in Korean that you can’t understand.

“She replied with a heart,” you answer. “And something I don’t understand.” Coming to a stop at a green-light-turned-red, he looks at the screen, nodding but not uttering a word. “What did you tell her?”

He starts to smirk. Leaving you to dread whatever’s going to come from his mouth. “It’s right there,” Tae teases. “You can’t read it?” His laughter fills the car when you groan. Delighted in your reaction as he always is.

“No,” you answer. “I’m trying to learn, but my tutor always get distracted during lessons.”

“Can’t help it. Hearing you speak Korean makes me want to kiss you. Is that such a sin?” He scoffs. “If wanting to kiss your girlfriend is a crime, then lock me away.” The light switches to green, the car in front of you hesitating a second before slowly crossing the intersection.

“Charges dropped. But please tell me what you said? Please, Tae Tae. Pretty please.”

He laughs a little more. “All I said was that you have no idea how happy you make me.” The tips of his ears turn a little red at his admission. But your heart is damn near close to exploding again. “I think she said that she loves us. I’m not sure, I didn’t really read it.” His attention remains focused on the road.

But yours is stuck on him.

“I love you.” His lips curl upward, sneaking a glance before turning back to the road. “I wish there was something stronger than love. Because I more than love you.” Tae peels a hand away from the steering wheel to take yours.. “Do you realize how frustrating it is to look at you and not have any words that can tell you how much you mean to me?”

He nods. “Every single time I look at you,” Tae replies. “But actions speak louder, and I can feel how much you love me in everything you do. I am one lucky man.” You want to throw yourself at him, want to shower him in your endless love and affection. But you settle for a squeeze of his hand. One that you hope he knows means you’re lucky too.

And you pray that he’s yours forever.

I FINISHED CHAPTER 11. *the final countdown starts playing in the back*

Nibel Region is beautiful. But lets talk story first.

Was eagerly awaiting meeting Vincent. The way there was painful tho. Listen: I love Cait Sith okay. Love his gameplay, his voice, his character. What they shouldn't have done is put him solo for most parts of this chapter, my patience was tested many a time during the whole manor. Hated the Abjudicator enemies. Did not have the patience when meeting them for the first time - i changed Cait's equipment like at least 5 times and then still died over and over again with just him in the party. Eventually did it the next day after a few tries. The Yin and Yang guy was also annoying the first few times - as I said, I was eagerly awaiting Vincent and the game just kept throwing annoying enemies at me 😭

Same with the puzzles. Took me very long to figure out how to use the throwing system with the boxes. Still struggled a lot after. THE ONE PART WHERE YOU HAVE TO HIT THE MOVING THING???? I was actually going insane. Was getting very frustrated and hated myself for it. I usually like the puzzles in Rebirth, but this section felt too long... Couldn't enjoy most of it. Did like the other boss fights tho. The abandoned experiment felt way too easy but ig I'm at the point of the game where all party members have a decent build so I feel like story bosses up until now have been quite alright to tackle. (Besides a few exceptions like Scarlet)

Vincent was very cool, what can I say. Took a billion screenshots (pictured below). Love how he went all out just bc Cloud touched his coffin... edgy ass. Him and Cait were somehow cute... we love us some coworkers.

Also poor Roche :( his fight was fun but I did see this coming. Had me thinking about Broden from Kalm, hope he is doing alright. I really can't wait to find out the whole story of the cloaked men... i remember in the first game I briefly thought Genesis might be one of them 😭 hope we get to see him during the last game maybe.

Other than that no other thoughts about the story this chapter... just Vincent. I'm just a girl what can I say.

Exploration wise I'm like halfway through Nibel. Took me a little bit to figure put how to get the dang chocobo (I thought we were supposes to distract the other ones, not bait the main one...) but their ability is SO FUN. Water feet farts.

Tried to beat Thorin several times but I couldn't do it even at lowest difficulty 😭 made it only as far as phase 2 where he splits the arena... idk if I'll succeed in getting him ngl.

Other than that I haven't done fiend intel, protorelic or npc quests (besides accidentally starting the one with the chocobo sage bc I stumbled across the farm). Looking forward to it all tho! Then it's time to tackle the last few chapters and then I can finally catch up with hsr ...

This is going to require ... a lot of thinking about how to wrangle the two farms lol. In the meantime, I have built the world's longest and jankiest staircase to get back up again. I will probably put in bubblevators later on maybe. ig I got lucky that it's surrounded by deep dark tho so I don't have to worry about mob spawns. And I've broken all the shriekers I can find bc who wants a warden down here? not me lol. There was also a smol iron vein nearby that I got a stack of iron from, so. :D

I do want to get this one up and running, as well as a zombie spawner for leather/rotten flesh. Once they're built, I'll probably test them out in easy to make sure they're working, and once I'm happy with that, I'll move to easy permanently.

also apparently my closest cherry grove biome is also near where my stronghold is so. that's ... fun. o.o i haven't even been to the nether yet, let alone thought about the end. XD

And we're going to get cherry trees next bc this is in the middle of the mountain my starter base is looking at, and a) it's covered in so much snowier snow oml and b) I'm gonna build a lil shrine there and plant cherry trees everywhere. So all the spruce has to go and I'll prob make a lil snow farm to go and replace all the snowier snow with proper snow so I don't have to deal with it. I have leather boots, but tbh that's not the point. XD I should flood it with water, that'll sort the snowier snow out. :D

Also there are two lil cave areas that connect through from the outside of the mountain near my storage house through to the grove here. So I've been tidying them up a lil in preparation for proper stairs and pathways.

I didn't take a screenshot of it, but there's now a dirt bridge connecting my starter cave area to this mountain and that leads into a tunnel that opens up to this grove. I got so many tunnels going lol. XD

I did have to take my first death tho bc as I was digging the janky staircase down to the skele spawner, I got lost in a small cave area and couldn't find where the staircase had opened into the cave. IT WAS SUCH A SMALL AREA HOW DID I GET LOST idk but I got an axolotl out of it so who's winning? :D But this is why I play with keep inventory on so I can die and go back to spawn and follow the staircase back down to where I left off lol.

Tomorrow, we go cherry tree hunting. I also want to mock out the roof for my storage house in creative bc the vision I have is. Complicated lol. And I want to get it right before I start building it in survival. And I want to start making the lil river that's going to flow between the two mountains. Do some terraforming to get the shape right and fill in any open cave areas that I don't want to just flood with water lol.

HI sorry for the wait sweetie!!! let's go over the basics!

youtube guides can be confusing. i did start off with one of those (specifically a guide to build xiao, before he was out bc i wanted to pre-farm), and ngl i had to research about half the thing the op said bc i was extremely Lost at that point (to the point where my artifacts didn't make fucking sense JKDDSKJ)

so!

depending on the character, you'll want different stats on either your artifacts and your weapon. you have several types of focus, depending on the character's role!

burst dps will want energy recharge, and either the noblesse oblige set or the emblem of severed fate set. but first, you need to know that sets have a 2p effect and a 4p effect. for example, 2p of noblesse oblige increase the character's burst dmg by 20%, while 4p increase your entire party's attack by 20% for a short period of time. you'll find the set's effects on the set's description, be it on the artifact menu when you select one of those or in the domain (once again, when you select one).

for a more thorough artifact guide, allow me to redirect you to that post i made a few months ago, in which i go deeper into the artifact system.

to define what set and what stats your character needs, you'll need to take into account their vision, scaling, ascension stat bonus and passives (you'll find the passives on the talents menu). let's take an easy example: xiao!

xiao's vision is anemo, he scales off atk, has a crit rate bonus when you ascend him and his passives boost his dmg. which means that your focus will be on anemo dmg bonus, atk and crit. he's what i like to call an elemental main dps, as opposed to a physical main dps. however, do note that you can build a physical dps regardless, lots of people like to build kaeya as a physical dps!

quick note, just in case: what we call "scaling" is how the skill and ult dmg are increased. for example, kokomi's ult has a bonus based on her max hp, and noelle's ult has a bonus based on her defense. not all characters scale off atk, even main dps! you can find the scale on the talent menu, if it says "xx% def/hp/etc" then it's that, if it says nothing then it's atk. xiao entirely scales off his atk!

and to add on to that: split scaling. split scaling is when a character's skill scales off a stat, but the ult scales off another. for example, albedo's skill scales off defense, but his ult scales off atk, except if you have him c2. in the same way, kokomi's skill scales off atk, but her ult scales off hp. it forces the player to focus on multiple stats, or to neglect either the skill or the ult to maximise the other one's capacity. you can compensate this with using a particular set but with different stats. for example, my albedo has a gladiator set for his ult dmg, but his sand is on def% for his skill dmg. tho it'll all change once i get a hang of the 2.3 set lmao

as for the talent books, you'll need to check them in the talent menu; just like the weapon refinement materials, they rotate each day and are all available on sunday. you'll need lots of them and lots of moras to lvl up the talents, but it's really worth it! however, level them up wisely. while a main dps usually requires all 3 talents maxed out (unless it's physical ig, but it's still preferable), a support or a sub/burst dps won't usually need their normal atk maxed out. you can do it of course, it's just gonna cost you a lot more. i tend to lv my sub dps NA to lv 6, mostly when im bored/realize i have the materials, but it's really not needed.

to get the most out of a character, you'll typically need to look into their talents, not only to lvl them up but to grasp the character's needs in terms of sets, stats and also weapons. however if you're overwhelmed by it, you can also simply type "[character] build" on google image and check gobelyn's builds, from my experience they're usually very good, and easy to understand! they give weapon options, several sets that could work and the associated stats on each artifacts.

if you want more specific help too, i would gladly dive into a specific character's build! i did that for baal and kazuha, and it's becoming kind of a series of sorts, although im procrastinating bennett's build like hell dkjsdn

I went on deep analysis mode this time to try and say all of Max's little nice and cute moments I know of.. Pls take notice, tho!! I'm not trying to flex or anything, I'm just a simple peasant girl on Maximilian's kingdom for a long time and it happens I have FBI blood in my veins 😭 so It's all gather on my brain and hard drive lol SO! I'm just answering this ask with a lot of thought and care so you can know more about Max and how he is even more awesome than you think!!! (And just in text form, cause Max doesn't need to be tagged on more personal stuff on IG (there’s too much illegal fishing at my tumblr pond already! 👏). It’s probably weird to know certain things, yes, but at least I'm respectful, I'll never bother him with this kind of stuff). Well, enjoy the bible below to end up knowing very little about him, still haha.. Just some more small facts.

- Max was at a barbecue just yesterday. It was someones birthday from the set of his new movie. He drank his beer, like usual, idk about the meat.. there was wurst and chicken.. I'm not sure if he's trying to be a vegetarian or not (after that thoughtful video he posted) 🤔.. maybe he didn't eat it, I don't know!!

- a little while before the start of this shooting, he was at the Baltic Sea filming for the series he's gonna be in (just one episode again! Don't get your hopes too high lol he's gonna be a security guard who disappears mysteriously, so....)

- He helped his friend renovate his house a few weeks ago!! How could I forget that on the first post.. Then, he had to go to Hesse for the movie shooting, and his friend had to call another friend to come help him lmao damn

- The falafel day.. his friend was taking a piss filming Max at the shop from afar and zooming in, saying "omg, guys! I found Noah from Dark! He's right there buying falafel" lmao, then, Max is just standing there looking all wonderful with his perfect hair and such, moving his hands, scratching his chin, ordering his food, and his friend talks some more, doing like a rough Max voice "yeah yeah, I'll have that one. Good, yeah". 😂

- the day he went to take a walk in nature. His friend asks him for a cigarette, he is denied, he goes to take it anyway, Max slams his cup of tea on the table and tries to take his cigarette back and it's all black and they're just laughing lmao (I love his laugh btw, so giggly!)

There was storys posted by Max himself.. so, maybe you saw it, but it's from before dark s3 came out.

- The pigeon storys. He filmed two pigeons chasing each other at the station, one always running from the other and he captioned "me trying to flirt" haha

- He screen recorded an ad for an app that deletes people from pictures and made some joke too, I can't remember exactly what he wrote, smt like "when you break up, but still wants to keep the picture" lol also, he unfollowed like 5 people that week after posting that... hm 👀

- he posted a video of him walking in the dark with really cold wind.. you can only see his hair flying around. Also, with a mask on, another chasing a cat in a big field, and that one drinking his coffee and eating his yogurt (you most likely saw it already)

- Ohh.. His friend was playing Max's drums the other day!!! Made a lot of jokes, it was obvious he was messing around in Max's room (maybe they live together, maybe he just waters the plants lol idk). Some of the jokes were "I've been playing this drums since 1921" and "the drums and me are a perfect pair, don't ever believe otherwise". I wonder what Max said to him.. he can't do anything about it, he's not in Berlin hahah. He has a little giraffe in his room, and other home decors (you can see it on his drumming video on his own IG)

- he likes to read on longer train rides.

- there's a video of him screaming inside a wardrobe after being jumped by a friend and one of him putting lipstick on with the song "I'm a sexy motherfucker" playing in the background hehe we was tagged, it was easy to find when there wasn't much tagged post.

- There's moments of ppl filming something/themselves and he just comes and photobombs it lol he is just like thiss 👏 showing his tongue and doing a funny face and such. One of those I saw it on the IG of a Das Boot cast member I actually already followed before.

At almost every picture, from every year, with different people etc. I was confused when he had normal headphones at his farm storys. Maybe he forgot them in Berlin 😭. Besides those, his rings, necklaces and bracelets (always, for years and years! Same ones, even). He uses frequently on premieres, as I saw it. Sometimes they also show up on his characters in his one-episode works!! Hahah is so nice when that happens. You can notice this on my screencaps.

- that pic of him that is everywhere now (with glasses, holding a bottle of champagne), I posted that months ago.. There's 2 more pics and 1 video.                  hello friends !! it’s ya girl moose again back at it !! this is panda !! she is......kind of a 2.0 of one of my other characters ?? slightly tweaked but still my fave gal deep down in my heart. as always i wanna plot w/ u all so LIKE THIS and i’ll come to u or HMU !!

she grew up in a small town in wisconsin where her parents owned a farm. they mostly had animals (cows, goats, chickens, and sheep) and rented out their farmland to other ppl.

she was an only child so.......she always kind of had to make due by herself. she’d hang out w the animals all day and she usually kept herself busy drawing or readin

the relationship between her parents had always been kinda rocky. she was the product of an unplanned teen pregnancy and it was clear they only rly stayed together bc.....they had to???

they were mostly just together for panda u know. but at some point her dad started seeing another woman lowkey behind everyone’s backs, but like…everyone kind of knew tbh bc.....the town is so small like everyone knows ur business.

panda was oblivious to it all tho, she likes to see the best in people. she loved her dad so much and thought of him very highly. he’s he dad after all!!!! her hero!!!!!!!

when she was 12, her dad just split one day while she was away at school and she came home to an empty house. he’d left to start his new life with his new girlfriend in the city without a word. he only left a pile of old sweaters (which panda kept & wears). a few weeks later some divorce papers came in the mail for her mom & that was that

for a few months, panda was the one that had to pick up the pieces. her mom wouldn’t get out of bed or get any work done or cook or clean or do laundry or do anything so it all fell on panda. she’d make breakfast and dinner for her & her mom and make herself lunch for school. she’d do the laundry and make sure her mom was fed and make sure the animals were fed & she barely had any time for herself.

it was around this time that her uncle and cousin noah came to stay a little while and visit, but ended up moving in permanently to help them around the house and help panda pick up the pieces & panda was kind of able to be a kid again, but.......also not really

pandora was always a kind of quiet and sensitive kid and she always got picked on at school for being a little weird, but after the whole family drama scandal it really only got worse? so she became really reclusive and didn’t do much other than go to school and go home and work on the farm, like she did before. honestly......this was just like her life now rip. she didn’t really have that many friends, but she found a lot of comfort in hanging out w the animals at home

and she also ended up growing a strong bond with her cousin because he was a bit of a black sheep himself. they’d just kind of chill w the animals together and just talk for hours. of course she loved her brother too, but he was like…..a lot cooler than her, so it was harder to relate u know

she also got really into art as a kid. she found it really helped her bc she couldn’t always express herself thru words, but she could always express herself thru art

honestly she’s just spend hours sitting around with the cows n noah, doing her homework and working on her art

the kinda gal that literally.....was constantly doodling ?? like always came home w pen on her legs and her notebooks were filled with little drawings in the margins & stuff u know the type

another thing that she’s always been into is like..........horror & gore & macabre shit ig ?? a lot of her doodles turned into her like designing these like monsters & creatures & it was a little unnerving when her mom found her drawings because like wtf ??? but....she has a very vivid imagination & a lot of ideas.

she joined her town’s theatre production when she was 15 & worked backstage designing & making costumes & doing makeup and was like wow...........this is dope ???? let me do this forever thx

the original plan her & her mother had discusses for her future was that she would go to school to become a vet so she could still help out around the farm, but....she wanted to make a future out of her art??? she wanted to make films and show what she could do with special effect bc.....she’s so passionate about it. she decided that like…the small town life wasn’t for her, she didn’t like everybody knowing her business and all that

and it was like….she wanted to get out asap ?? she just kind of needed a breather too and like…..a change. she wanted to start over, i guess.

she mom didn’t really believe that she could do it ?? like “oh that’s nice sweetie but that’s not a job” & also like she said explicitly at times that her work wouldn’t rly be good enough to make a career out of which was v upsetting. she lowkey believed it but she was destined to prove her mom wrong

so she was like ok !!!!! i’m gonna go to school pce out fam. but she had to take a year off after graduation to like....save money bc she didn’t know if she’d be able to get scholarships

she ended up getting accepted to princeton & she probably cried for a week straight. she’s doesn’t rly come from a lot of money so she needs student aid and she puts pretty much all of her savings into school

so here she is......w a double major of fine arts major & fum bc she REALLY wants to do special effects makeup & character design and make films ig !!!!

Throughout our journey with Voyage, the one thing we have learned over and over is that hidden within every challenge is a blessing or opportunity. It’s up to us to determine whether a challenge we face will be a step back or the catalyst for a step forward.

My best advice for someone who feels like they’re facing insurmountable odds is to “Just Keep Living.”  We must accept that each day will have its own set of challenges.  We must acknowledge our feelings when those challenges leave us with unsavory options & make choices that most positively fit the circumstances, not our feelings.  Each day you wake facing insurmountable odds, do what is possible to keep living for that day.  Also, if you don’t believe in God or a higher power, choose to believe in & think on the things that give you hope & keep living.

There’s beauty in the struggle,” sums up my advice to all. In the face of adversity once must have the confidence and perseverance to never lose sight of the goal and the only way to get there is to get through it, go through it and feel through it. Write down and break down all your obstacles, knock out smallest first and go from there, it really helps ease off the stress if you can visually see what you’re up against. And most importantly don’t forget to enjoy it, try to see the bright side of each challenge, find out what each stepping stone is trying to teach you, you know what they say “life is our greatest teacher,” so allow yourself to be taught.

My best advice for someone who feels like there facing insurmountable odds is to stop everything and focus on there mental wellness, find a hobby or even time to relax and meditate so  you can get your thoughts together and organized what is needed to be done to get out from the set backs or problems there facing. Mental health followed by physical health are the most important factors  to reach productivity, positivity and the will to fight back from the obstacles that we face so we can reach our goal and become a better and successful person.

If your facing odds that seem to be to great to overcome this may be, you won’t know if you don’t try. Try hard and if you fail at least you tried, knowing that you did everything you thought you could will give you new strength and knowledge to try again or to do something different. We win some and loose some but I think we actually win a little either way. I have found being the minority in my industry has actually helped me to stand out. There is an abundance of fantastic male tattoo artists, many get overlooked. There are much less well known established female tattoo artists. I will keep using this to my advantage and continue to work hard to better my parenting, business skills and craft. No matter what happens I won’t be able to say I wish I had tried harder. I will give it my all.

I want to first look at the meaning of the word insurmountable. The definition is: too great to overcome. And that is where I say: you are stronger than you think and you are an overcomer. I have truly wondered many times in my life if the “giant” I was facing was just too great but I can say: “I overcame them all.” And for me, it was with the help of the Lord. I love the analogy of the oyster and its pearl: Pearls are the product of pain and when it gets pricked by a piece of sand it creates a healing fluid which in turn creates a pearl. Without the adversity, the pearl would never have been formed. Whatever valley you are in or whatever mountain you are climbing, take it one step at a time, one moment at a time, one day at a time. Take your thoughts captive and speak truth to the fear that wants to cripple you. Have faith and remember there is nobody like you in this world. You are unique, you are loved and you have a purpose!

When facing insurmountable odds I always try to do a few things to change how I view the mountain I’m staring at. First, I pray that God would change my perspective. I have learned over the years, no matter the difficulty that I might be facing – there is someone walking through something much harder than I am. Also, by shifting my perspective it allows me to understand that this moment or this season will not last forever.

The last thing I do is dare to hope.

Hope that the sun will shine tomorrow.

Hope that the hard work I’m putting in will pay off, because nothing worth having comes easy.

Hope that the dreams that have been placed in my heart are for something great.

The best advice I can give to a person facing insurmountable odds is to remember a couple of things and those things are that there’s never going to be anything placed on you that you can’t handle. Remember you’ve been equipped with the right weapons to fight every battle that comes your way. Another thing to remember is that things always have a way of working themselves out, you just have to stay the course. It may take an hour, a day, a week, or even years, but stay the course and you’ll see that those insurmountable odds will work themselves out because tough times don’t last, tough people do. Many people like to say that time heals all wounds, but really time is not the healer, it is the revealer of the healing that only God can do.

Being an artist has been a dream of mine since I was able to dream.  It has come with many challenges, from outside voices telling me it was a terrible idea and would take me nowhere in life, to the personal insecurities of feeling different and not being good enough.  I fought to always stay true to myself-to that part of myself that has always been true to me-“the artist”. Ignoring self-doubt and other people’s opinions has been one of the hardest things to do. Once I reached the point in valuing my talent, seeing myself as the person I want to be and not letting the opinions of others define my value, I was able to face these odds and come out on the other side a better human-a better version of myself. Obviously, some challenges cannot be fixed overnight. They require short term goals, baby steps, asking for help from others, change and patience. Fear can find a way of clouding your vision, turn action into procrastination and making situations appear insurmountable, but the truth is, nothing is insurmountable.  It takes a stubborn faith in your vision to turn it into a reality. I am proof that it can be done.

I believe when something in life isn’t working out or it feels as if you’re having the same reoccurring problem, it means the universe is telling you there is a lesson that needs to be learned. This doesn’t mean you are being punished or the universe is out to get you. It means that you are evolving and growing. The problem that you have is now a problem because you are no longer complacent with your previous situation. Your conscience is basically saying, “Nah that ain’t it anymore. “Insert-your-name-here” we need to do something differently and preferably not this again.

Embrace this. That’s why you feel the itch to make the change. Well, go and make the change. However, somewhere in the process of figuring out what the change needs to be, and then actually making the change we often find ourselves incredibly overwhelmed. The -ish is hitting the fan and we are thinking, ” what in the actual **** is going on?”. If life had a remote control take a moment and hit pause. Ask yourself who am I and who do I want to become? In order to become this person you’ve imagined for yourself, you must leave the person who you currently are behind you. The problems that we face aren’t necessarily our problems. The problem is we’re trying to take on a new challenge with our previous situation mentality.

Our past mindset, beliefs, and habits, most likely work for the current situation you are in (that’s why you’re in it). If we don’t change how can we expect change? Again, ask yourself and imagine who is the person that has overcome the obstacle you’re facing. Do they understand their self-worth? Are they patient with themselves? Are they organized? Outspoken? Consistent? Personally, when I FINALLY figured out what lesson I needed to understand (it took me a hot minute sometimes) my problem didn’t seem as impossible anymore.

I can recall those dark days clearly. I remember being sucked into feelings of debilitation and paralyzation; not knowing how I was going to get myself out of it. I honestly think that I was able to overcome them by setting an outcome or goal, and then dissecting into achievable tasks. After those tasked were set, I forced myself to attack them one at a time. Once I was able to knock one task of my long list, it gave me the confidence to do it again and again. Overtime, I was able to build momentum to get to the final result. I truly believe that success builds on success.

Behind the chair and in life I’m really good at listening, but I have to admit I’ve not been the best at taking my own advice. I’m a people pleaser and I worry about how everyone else feels and what they think. I’m in my own way ALOT! But here is what I’ve learned.

I had to stop talking about it or thinking about it and change it. My way has always been avoiding, locking myself away from the problem or the people involved.

I became a young mother just before I turned 19 years old. Postpartum depression took me away from him a lot, the feeling that I wasn’t good enough was a daily battle. My parents were disappointed in me all the time, and stepped in for my son. I would go to school from 8 to 5pm and then go to work from 6 to 3am. I saw him maybe twice a week and my mom was spitting mad because I’d often fall asleep beside him, I’m pretty sure they thought I was doing drugs (I wasn’t). I missed out on so much. I was living in a government subsidized apartment and ate crackers and ranch at my waitress job because I couldn’t afford food. I thought to myself many times, is this ever going to get better?

Cut to now, Im married with 3 more children,

I’ve been doing hair for 17 years and have built a full clientele , with a side job that I can do while spending time with my children. I’m not a perfect mom, but I’m there everyday trying, protecting and loving them to the best of my abilities. My parents are proud of me (I think).

Everyone has a story to tell, about how they felt defeated, heartbroken, or even done. Yet here they are smiling and talking you through your troubles because there’s another side of this, there’s hope.

Surround yourself with people that will listen and support you without judgement. My family and friends didn’t like listening to me or seeing me stuck in my sadness, but they did it out of love. Misery does indeed live off of the company at their pity party. Don’t be friends with Misery!

Im so grateful for the setbacks and the broken bits of my story, they’re how I learned from the gut wrenching pain and humiliation of failure. Perfection doesn’t exist, and happiness is subjective.

I know this all sounds like you walked into a power yourself, with yourself, by yourself, for yourself pep rally motivational seminar. But it’s the truth, you have to put in the work and dedication to your job, your situations, and your relationships because no one else is YOU!

I’m convinced that God gave me my husband and children as my reason to try harder everyday.

Find your reason, wake up, and take a deep breath. YOU just did that, you’re alive!
