The short answer? Because I love these characters and their worlds, and it's more fun to play with them when I get to share them with others.

I think I'm pretty good a striking a balance between developing characters and their relationships while also having interesting plots and keeping the story moving forward. I'm also not afraid to try plotlines that might be a bit unconventional for the fandoms I write for.

One reason the next chapter of Trio Sonata has been taking so long is that I've been expanding and reworking the middle part of the story (where ECR are in Skotelof for a while). This has led me to do more research on the history of farming and industrialization in Sweden, as well as on art restoration (thank you to @les-gnossiennes-fantomatiques for answering some of my questions!). I'm finally at a point where I can actually start writing properly again, and I think the overall fic will be better for it.
