Headcanon: After the betrayals of Sebastian and Reese, Chase begins regularly using his apps discreetly to monitor the heartrate, pupils, and breathing and perspiration rates of the people he interacts with as a quasi-lie-detector. Sure it's a bit of privacy invasion, but he rationalizes it's a necessary evil because when he misses the lies, people tend to almost die. He still has trouble trusting, but he finds that people around him are telling truth most of the time.

You know now that you bring this up... I’m honestly surprised they never brought this up in the show. Bc it WOULD be really easy for Chase to be a human bionic lie detector, which would come in handy on missions they had to uncover information or something. The fact they never used this even for one episode is amazing. Especially with Marcus/Alistair! Bree and Adam could’ve just dragged Chase over. I mean sure some people could train themselves to hide those tells but the average person would be an open book.

Another Important PSA

Kaz is 100% responsible for saving Chase’s life, and Chase never forgets that. Kaz doubts it sometimes, saying it was Chase’s smarts that did, not him, but Chase is adamant.

KAZ was the one who got the idea to switch intelligence levels. KAZ was the one who, when thrown into the deep end of a medical emergency for a life-form he had zero knowledge about, refused to give up. And KAZ was the one who figured out how to save him despite the odds stacked against him.

I know a lot of the Kase Beginnings hcs are “they figure it out together in secret” sorta thing, but I have another proposition:

Kaz approaches Bree, after multiple failed attempts of flirting with Chase, to ask how best to get her brother’s attention.

Alternatively, Bree approaching Kaz after seeing the multiple failed attempts of flirting with Chase, and going, “You’re going about this all wrong and it’s honestly painful to watch, here’s some notes.”

However it starts, just. Bree helping Kaz get together with Chase. Giving him suggestions on date ideas. Presents. Jokes Chase will get/appreciate. Super lame science pick up jokes she’s sure will get her brother’s attention. Expanding the Kaz/Bree Friendship and showing that Bree actually does know a lot about her brother’s interests, even though she pretends not to.

And when they do get together, she takes a sneaky selfie in front of them kissing, pointing and sporting a proud smirk, with the caption, “I made this.” and sends to Adam and Leo.

Chase doesn’t figure out any of her involvement until years later. He just thought Kaz was that awesome.
