Trigger warning: Suicidal ideation
Spoiler warning
I was watching a podcast and the guest started to talk about their mental health and dropped this phrase: "I leave my good house, drive a fantastic car to my adored job where I make a lot of money to bring home, kiss my beloved kids and beloved wife, after which I'm lying in bed and want to die."
For a long time I have thought that Voltage, even if not very obviously, tries to depict characters that struggle emotionally, with the way they joke about dying, the trauma they went through, and sometimes even the dialogues they have with MC or other characters in the story. So, here are the characters I have thought about when I heard the above mentioned quote: Takaomi Tsugaru & Munechika Takado. There are more, but maybe I didn't think of them or didn't read their story.
Takado is more of the "joking" about suicide type of person. I do have a post somewhere in this blog with a screen from him where he says: "I'm not that suicidal." Takado himself acknowledges his suicidal inclinations and the trouble he has with this. And while I do really appreciate the relationship between the EICU doctors and think that their dynamics is very well written and healthy, and funny, and fantastic and aaaaa. I still somehow feel bad for Takado that he doesn't have a friend as close to him as Momose is to Tsugaru or Sen is to Kasumi. And I don't think that you can compare someone's suffering and say that someone has it easier than someone else, though a more mentally stable friend would be of a good aide for him. No, this is not putting the responsibility from one person to another and burdening someone uselessly. As a suicide prevention line volunteer, I know first-hand that this is bad and we have to think firstly about our own safety and wellness. But, also as a suicide prevention line volunteer I do know the importance of having someone near you. This is one of the tools we use for helping the people that are asking for help. And in Takado's case he does have group of good friends, a good relationship with his sister, and MC. Yet, unlike Kasumi and Tsugaru, there's no person except MC later in the story, for which Takado can continue living. Truth be told, sometimes we have to live for others, because living for ourselves is not enough.
So, let's talk a little about Tsugaru, because I don't remember everything in big detail to talk a lot about him. But do you remember the season in which he told MC that he is not afraid to die and he can do it whenever, and doesn't really want to live or something like this? It's not hard to guess that this man needs therapy. And I really wish somewhere in the story he goes to it, because always leaning on MC & Momose is not the healthiest and most surest way to cope with everything. But I do really appreciate the fact that he has Momose. Tsugaru is one of the most obviously struggling character I have read about in a Voltage game. It's as if all the problems, traumas, and darkest past decided to use him as their meeting point. I don't remember if it was clearly written or if I just headcanonned this in my mind, but I do think that at some point, the only reason Tsugaru continued living was because of Momose.
And I do appreciate that Voltage creates this type of characters, even if they may do it more for the shock value than for showing diversity. Though, I would really like to read a mention of them going to therapy. Or, I do want to see them struggling deeply with this even if they are with MC. Because !Spoiler! Love doesn't magically cure all your mental health problems.
Maybe that's my "I want to be a psychiatrist" part talking, or the love for deeply troubled men in fiction, but I do have to thank Voltage for creating them, so that I can write fics about how troubled they are.
P.S. Another character that I somehow think about in this situations is Kuranosuke Kiba, but not because he has ever shown symptoms of suicidal ideas, but because he has a story of trauma behind him. He does give me the aura of a: "Yeah, this was a great day... I want to die." He doesn't have an obvious traumatic past that screams MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES. What he has is very close to a lot of us, is easily to understand, and easy to interpret. It's the "I do conceptually love my family. But I can't bring myself to have a healthy relationship with them." And the good thing is that he tries to get better at least by understanding that he do really has a problem. (Plus, I do adore the scene in which he comes back after a meeting with his parents and falls on the sofa without any energy. It shows him as a vulnerable and relatable character.)
I'm always open to discussion about this characters or some others that you can think about in this case.

Global Virtual ICU Market Is Estimated To Witness High Growth Owing To Technological Advancements
The global Virtual ICU Market is estimated to be valued at US$ 4.85 billion in 2022 and is expected to exhibit a CAGR of 7.3% over the forecast period 2022-2030, as highlighted in a new report published by Coherent Market Insights. Market Overview: Virtual ICU, also known as teleICU or eICU, is a technology-driven system that provides remote monitoring of critically ill patients in intensive care units (ICUs). This technology combines advanced communication technology and telemedicine to provide real-time monitoring and support for critical care patients. It enables ICU teams to remotely monitor patients' vital signs, intervene in emergencies, and provide expert advice from a distance. The key advantages of virtual ICUs include reduced mortality rates, decreased length of ICU stay, improved patient outcomes, and cost savings. Market Key Trends: One key trend driving the growth of the virtual ICU market is the increasing adoption of telemedicine and remote patient monitoring technologies. With the advancements in technology, telemedicine has emerged as a viable solution to deliver critical care services remotely. The COVID-19 pandemic has further accelerated the adoption of telemedicine, as it enables healthcare providers to remotely monitor and manage patients, reducing the risk of exposure to infectious diseases. For example, companies like InTouch Technologies and Advanced ICU Care have experienced a surge in demand for their teleICU services during the pandemic. How AI and virtual tech will take on clinician burnout
Constant digital transformation
There have been plenty of advancements in the field of digital and virtual care, but improvements in areas like patient evaluations and diagnostic techniques have also flooded clinicians’ workloads with new types of data and in much greater amounts. “From an imaging perspective, what we see is that, with current technologies and computing power, there are way more images available after a patient procedure than there has ever been before,” Catherine Estrampes, GE Healthcare’s president and CEO of U.S. and Canada, told Fierce Medtech.
And with more providers making the jump to digital systems, helping hospitals and health systems manage the surge of information is a challenge even when they're fully staffed. “So when we think about digital transformation, the overarching focus is how do we help our customers connect that huge amount of data to insights.”
“I think for the first time in the past 15 or 20 years, our customers are facing labor shortages, very high attrition, and, in a way, higher costs of labor—and that is preoccupation number one for our customers,” Estrampes said. “As a result, they are really looking for ways to decrease their burdens—and the burnout—of their nurses, technicians and MDs.”
“It all came to a head with the onset of the pandemic, where we saw telehealth really come into play with home visits being done remotely,” Gopalkrishnan noted. But at the same time, ICUs became overwhelmed with COVID patients—providing an opportunity to employ telemedicine technologies inside the wards, same as outside. “We really need to rethink what remote patient monitoring can mean in the hospital and what virtual care means in the hospital—that's a big area of focus for us,” he said.
Even before the pandemic, both GE Healthcare and Philips were exploring and establishing healthcare “command centers,” where a limited number of technicians could help keep watch over dozens of beds spanning multiple hospitals, all from a central facility.
With a connected “eICU” system, remote workers would have access to the same data as a nurse on an intensive care floor and could act as the first level of triage when it comes to readying patients for transfer out of the ICU or seeing if they need extra attention, said Gopalkrishnan.
COVID-19 brought a surge in demand for these networks, he said, because not only can they help health systems potentially scale up their operations but they also keep trained medical staff nearby. “The metric that we're going to measure ourselves on is the patient-to-clinician ratio,” Gopalkrishnan said.
And the hospital of the future, he predicts, will employ AI programs, wireless monitors, computer vision and cameras to monitor vital signs and automatically alert clinicians of a patient in distress—like an automated upgrade over the ubiquitous nurses’ call button.
But if it sounds like AI will one day make providers’ jobs obsolete, Gopalkrishnan said healthcare is a unique field. The public’s demands for medical services will continue to outpace the number of jobs that are available.
“So how do we deliver access and affordability to patients? It has to be through leveraging technology, and I think the healthcare industry, nurses and clinicians are embracing this more openly right now,” he said. “Because they don't see this as a path for jobs elimination, they see this as a path for them to stay relevant and able to care for more patients. Because there is a demand that they are not able to satisfy right now.”
And in radiology and digital imaging, AI programs have helped improve departments’ workflows—such as the deep-learning software GE Healthcare received an FDA clearance for earlier this fall, as well as programs that highlight severe, time-sensitive findings and triage them to the top of the pile for clinician review.
These types of technologies have led to 35% more exams being completed per week with the same number of staff, while also reducing weeks-long wait times for undergoing MRI scans, Estrampes said—critical measures if a hospital is short on personnel.
“On one hand, image quality is our top priority, obviously,” she said. “But at the same time and in parallel, one of the applications that AI and machine learning technologies can focus on is the productivity of our clients, because efficiency is at the top of their list.”
Meanwhile, in ultrasound—a field dependent on the personal touch of a clinician manipulating a handheld probe—GE Healthcare has been exploring the use of telehealth within a hospital system to allow staff with more experience to virtually guide newer technicians step-by-step through a sonogram without having to be in the same room.
As Estrampes said, it’s part of a “doubling down,” on new technologies in diagnostics, targeted therapies and patient monitoring that GE Healthcare has planned. It is of particular focus as the company aims to strike out on its own, spinning out from its parent conglomerate on January 4, 2023, with the goal of making imaging the cornerstone of advanced patient care.
“I believe that the radiologist of the future will become the chief diagnostician, if you like, or the chief of integrated medicine,” Estrampes said. “Why do I say that? Because imaging is going to be at the center of precision medicine.”
Precision care begins with the early interception of disease, such as with cancer screenings. With images in hand, clinicians can—and already do, in some cases—add on lab results, genomic profiles and pathology findings, she said. “The radiologist will be the starting point of the aggregation of all that data.”
“When you do that, you will have a 360-degree view of the patient. And that will inform more precise therapies in the future and that will help with more precise patient monitoring. And AI is going to be at the center of each of those.”

Don't XXX someone else's husband! (Munechika Takado x MC)(Scenario)
Author's note: Sometimes, Romance MD has a peculiar humor. So, I had to think a lot about a case as strange as the canon one. (For those who don't know what Lys and I are talking about, this is based on "Don't XXX another man", which is a special story for Kasumi.) I hope you're expectations will be met. And @lys-lilac, thank you a lot for this request. Enjoy!
Summary: Takado was sarcastic and MC was a weirdo. But this qualities has never stopped them from being one of the best couples in the entire hospital. Until it did and Takado Munechika had to encounter his biggest fear - The Overlord himself.
Words counting: 2305
"Are you married?" MC heard a high-pitched voice from the room that her husband was keeping his lessons. A smile appeared on her face as she walked through the university. She had to meet a doctor who was also a professor there and taught his course at the same time as Takado Munechika, MD, Ph.D., Orthopedics Professor. MC knew the university well enough. She studied there for six long years. However, a wave of warmth hit her when she walked past her husband's class. Unconsciously, MC slowed down her pace to hear Takado answering the question about his marital status.
"No."
MC stopped in her tracks. She could see the handsome features of her husband through the door, yet she was too afraid to stay for too long and admire him. What if she saw the face of the girl who asked him the question and understood how beautiful she was, gorgeous enough to make her loyal husband lie about his relationship? When the phone in her hand vibrated, Mrs. Takado knew she had to run towards the meeting. Yet, her mind was somewhere else, not even in the halls or in front of Takado's class. Otherwise, she would have heard the completion of the answer.
Takado Munechika, MD, Ph.D., Orthopedics Professor, tried his best not to roll his eyes at the questions his students gave him, as if most of them weren't in their mid-20s and a step away from being residents. He didn't want to be the one to say that the new generation didn't have any manners, yet here he was, thinking the same thing. It wasn't their problem if he was single, married, lived with his mother, or in the hospital. Takado could remember his school and university years when he had no idea what most of his professors did outside their lessons. Of course, he had his share of over-share professors, and some of them were married to the most mysterious ones, this being the reason why the students knew about their relationship status. But it didn't mean that all the kids in front of him had to know a thing about him.
Deep in his thoughts, the professor returned to being a doctor and entered the EICU headquarters. Or this was the plan, till he opened the door and heard:
"Can I kiss you?" coming from his boss. Not wanting to deal with any public display of affection from the Overlord who just returned from his honeymoon, he closed the door to take a walk. However, his plans were once again destroyed when he recognized the voice of the person who answered the question. It was a wife, but not Kasumi's. It was HIS wife, Takado MC, MD. And she answered affirmatively.
A million questions ran through Takado's mind. But his actions were faster. He opened the door and looked at the couple in front of him. As if nothing happened between them, MC and Kasumi looked at him. As usual, it was hard to read Kasumi, yet on MC's face was a scowl. Before he could say a word, the other Dr. Takado left her place and walked past him, giving him a displeased look as if he was the one to blame.
Instead of explaining the situation, Kasumi returned to work. Takado didn't know what to do: take his boss by the collar while his scary dog was somewhere in the same building, go after Mrs. Takado for explanations, or find Mrs. Kasumi for revenge together. Before he could find an answer, a nurse called Dr. Takado Munechika, Orthopedic Surgeon, to see a kid who fell from the slide and broke her ulnar and radial bones in two different places. A two-hour operation with probably an hour of preparing and half of his day was gone. Mrs. Takado and Kasumi would have to wait a little.
When Takado returned, he saw the other man in his relationship kiss his wife, as if he wasn't trying to seduce MC a few hours earlier. For everyone else, the newlyweds looked like newlyweds. But Takado couldn't help but search for the trash so that his disgust could go directly to its place. Kyogoku rolled his eyes at the public display of affection shown by the recently returned from the honeymoon couple. But he got even more irritated when he saw Takado faking a gag.
"Don't act as if you were different a few months ago."
"Not a few months, but already more than a year. And yes, I was different."
All the doctors in the room looked at Takado. No, the Takado family wasn't different. They also thought that none of them saw them when not-so-secretly kissed or touched each other. Toshiki was more public, but not with much. So, Takado-the-pot just called Kasumi-the-kettle black.
"You have no shame, do you?"
Everyone looked from Takado to Kasumi after the orthopedist's words. He was lucky that it was hard to understand if he talked about Kyogoku or Kasumi. But it was bold, coming from someone who tried his best not to cross paths with the boss.
However, MC wasn't as lucky as Kasumi. The moment she entered the room after her shift, she understood that she didn't have her keys. The only option was to ask her husband to give her his keys. So, reluctantly, she stepped in front of the man who gave her his surname a year ago and put her hand in front of him.
"Give me your keys," she said barely audible.
Out of habit, Munechika stood up and took a few steps towards the locker room but stopped midway.
"Why don't you ask your other man to give you his keys?" he hissed silently enough only for MC to hear.
Mrs. Takado raised her brow at her husband and pushed him away. It was he who seduced young and beautiful med students, not her. If he didn't give the keys, she would take them herself.
As if mocking her, the photos that Takado had in his locker of them fell on the ground. At least it wasn't his wedding band.
"Do his students know that he has photos of me everywhere?" MC thought. Maybe he had to put her as his background on every device he owned. She didn't know that she was his background on all his devices except the ones for work. She also didn't know that his students saw her on his backgrounds, and lock screens, that they melted a little at first, then mocked him for being a simp. But there was no way Takado would tell her this.
After MC's leaving, Takado's rage got concentrated on Kasumi. For hours, all the other doctors thought that the Overlord was overturned due to how intensely the orthopedist looked at the cardiologist. The only person who seemed not to notice this was Kasumi himself. Even his new wife understood it wasn't the time to cross Takado's path. So, when Takado got called into Kasumi's office, the cardiologist calmly ate MC's bento that got recognized by her husband in the same instant. Noticing his colleague's line of sight, the boss explained:
"Your wife said she didn't have enough appetite today and left her food for me because I am on call today."
"Are you mocking me because you can have every woman in this world while I had to be on the verge of dying to get a few years of happiness?" Takado snapped.
Kasumi looked at his friend, colleague, and the source of his forming headache. All the words like: "You're enough, I promise, you're enough. Don't think so lowly of yourself. You are loved," dissipated and made enough space for the supreme: "The door is behind you. Come back when you get your brains and manners back."
Takado slammed the door to his boss' office. Kasumi took a deep breath and held it for a second, just to morph it into the loudest and deepest reproach he was capable of: "Manners, please."
The orthopedist rolled his eyes, opened the door again without looking at Kasumi, and closed it silently. However, he couldn't stop himself from giving it a knock with his elbow. Unfortunately, Takado was too old to be a rebel, and he stopped before breaking a bone. So, he decided to continue reading his patients' medical carts. Before he could finish, a dark figure covered his lights.
"I told you to go study manners, not this. You're not in the state to think reasonably today. So, bye-bye," Kasumi said while trying to get the folders from Takado's hands. For a second, Takado thought about suddenly letting go of them. Seeing Kasumi falling on his butt was a revenge good enough. Yet, he still had a wife at home, even if they weren't on good terms. Takado wasn't sure that MC had enough money to arrange his funerals. So, he tried his best to mask his range. 99% of it got under control. But that 1% made Takado's hand clench forcefully on Kasumi's shoulder before leaving the room. After the grip, Kasumi, who clenched his teeth out of pain, tried to find ways to explain to his wife why he would come back with a giant bruise on his shoulder.
At home, Takado found his wife on the couch. At first, he didn't think too much about it. However, when he entered their shared bedroom and saw no sheets and pillows on the bed, he returned to her.
"Do you want a divorce? It's not even a year after their wedding..."
MC looked at her husband in shock. At first, a ping of guilt reverberated through her ribcage, but after his last sentence, she couldn't think of anything better than to throw a pillow at her soon-to-be ex-husband.
"You don't even know when is our anniversary and that we celebrated our first year as a family a few weeks ago?"
Takado didn't bother to catch the pillow. Instead, he looked in disbelief at his wife. Something didn't make sense. A deja vu hit him, and he remembered how Kasumi was sure his girlfriend cheated on him with Takado. What if it was the same case and a misunderstanding occurred?
"What are you talking about? Are you even listening to what I am saying?" Takado Munechika, MD, Ph.D., Orthopedics Professor, known as MC's husband, mumbled. MC's face changed from an annoyed look to a quivering lip and teary eyes. The man fell on his knees and cupped his wife's cheeks.
"Are you ashamed that I am your wife?"
Takado tilted his head and wiped a fat tear from MC's cheek. She closed her eyes, and the sunset orange hues got lost in her little liquid diamonds.
"What makes you say this?" Munechika asked after pressing his forehead against hers. MC tried to suppress a sob but failed and shook herself and her husband. Her fingers caught Takado's wrists and made him press his hands harder against her face.
"I heard one of your students asking if you are married, and you said no."
This sentence marked the fall of MC's dam. She started to sob hard. Before answering, Munechika pulled MC into a tight embrace, and her head found its place against his chest. His lips kissed the crown of her head till MC calmed enough to hear his answer.
"If you listened a little longer, you would have heard my entire answer."
At this, MC pushed her husband enough to get a better look at his face and frowned. What else could he say to make the situation better? It wasn't as if "No" needed any completion. Plus, it sounded like a standalone answer. And even with another sentence, it didn't make any sense.
"No, that's why I wear a wedding band on my ring finger and call the other Dr. Takado my wife. Of course, I am married."
Okay, it made sense. It was something Takado could say. How could MC forget that her husband was sarcastic? Plus, he wore his wedding band all the time, except for the surgeries.
MC let the last tears in her eyes fall on Takado's thumbs and smiled. The smile morphed into a hearty smile, and she hugged Munechika harder than ever. For a while, the husband patted his wife on the back.
"But even if I did say no, it didn't give you the right to kiss Kasumi."
MC tilted her head against Munechika's chest. When did she kiss Kasumi? She didn't even kiss Mrs. Kasumi, not to mention the Overlord. Whispering against her ear, Takado gave MC the explanations she needed.
"I heard Kasumi asking if it was okay to kiss you, and you said yes."
Searching through the history of all the words said to her in the past hours, MC finally understood what her husband talked about.
"I was trying to make a point back then."
"By saying yes to his questions?"
"No, by asking him to ask me this and giving the answer that implied that I am not happy with you."
"Why?"
"Because he was smart enough to understand that it was a misunderstanding that you said you weren't married. And I brought up an example. I said: If he asked me to kiss me and I said yes, and you coincidentally overheard this, you would think of the worst-case scenario, as I thought when I heard you denying your marriage."
Takado tried to repeat all the words MC said and found a sense in them. It took him more than he wanted to admit. However, it wasn't his fault. MC's way of thinking was too strange for simple humans.
"Mission completed unsuccessfully, I think."
MC nodded and hugged her husband again. At least she wouldn't have to spend her night on the sofa instead of sniffing Takado all night.

A Surprise Proposal: Toshiki Kasumi X MC
[A/N: Blame my dream for this idea as well. But MC sharing her insecurities with him? YES YES YES! Also who doesn't like a proposal to go reverse way? All the characters belong to Voltage Inc. and this is a fictional work.]
~
Night: EICU HQ
It was just a normal, and hectic day for both of you. Surgeries, post operative care, out patients, meetings, and paperworks. Even though the rigorous hours in hospital were fulfilling for you, in the recent 2 years, you had been looking forward to something else every single day. That handsome face, that alluring voice, that unwavering gaze, that softness of his hand and his warmth. When you joined the hospital, you had already made up your mind not to make any more new relationships. You knew how difficult it was maintain each one, trust someone that much and the subsequent pain of them receding away farther and farther from your reach. The feeling of being unwanted, unwelcome had scarred your heart so deep that it was beyond healing. Even though everyone praised you for being a brilliant student, you couldn't help but feel pathetic often, crying over a patient's death when you were alone even though it was supposed to be your job, wanting to spend time with friends, when in reality you couldn't make one. Maybe they found you boring for being a nerd? But, you still would try to focus on the positive side of your life, your supportive parents, Asuka, who had been your emotional support. You thought earlier, you shouldn't wish for more. You should be content with this much. Little did you know, you subconsciously wanted to hold to a hand that wanted to help you, and be loved. There he was. Waiting for you, accepting all your sides with open arms, with that gentle gaze. He said it was you who saved him, but in reality, it was him who saved you from drowning in self doubt, remorse and guilt. Sometimes it even made you think whether you are dreaming, and the harsh reality will return back soon.
"MC?"
The familiar voice breaks your train of thoughts and you can't help but smile. After all, it is your day off tomorrow together.
"Dr. Kasumi."
Seeing you in a good mood, he ruffles your hair.
"Did anything good happen today? Share with me when we reach home."
"It's nothing. I am just happy to see you after a loooong day!"
With that gentle smile not leaving his lips, he casually slips your bag on his shoulders, and takes your hand in the other. Even though it has become a daily routine, you still feel all your tiredness wash away with his simple gesture.
"Good night everyone."
"Oh how I could kill to be in your place..."
Dr. Kyogoku mumbles while typing a patient record.
"I owe you one, oh dear Chairman bodyguard!"
"MC, the new stock you promised."
Dr Ekuni's voice comes lazily from the office couch.
"Got it. 5 flavors of jelly, and the curry ramen. But it goes to our joint snack account!"
"Yes ma'am, very grateful."
You can't tell if he is drowsy or just enjoying the moment of peace with that relieved expression of his.
"Enjoy your day off together. And please get some sleep, you two zombies."
Dr. Hosho chuckles as he places a cup of coffee on his desk.
"Who are you calling a zombie? Isn't a prince surviving on coffee more zombie like?"
"Just admit you suck at joking Dr. Kasumi. Your words and that chilling gaze are 180° to each other."
Dr. Takado replies looking at his cooking ramen.
Even though Kasumi tries to joke, all HQ members have long known it will fail mostly. But knowing him, he won't mind either way, even though he pouts slightly. Then we proceed home.
Night: Kasumi's Apartment
"Should we watch this?"
"Your choice, I am fine with your picks."
Kasumi replies as he places two cups of hot chocolate on the table.
For a change of pace, you have decided to watch a movie together. Yes, visiting places on dates is really fun, but just enjoying each other's company at home is sometimes more of what you crave.
As you tap the start button, you drape a blanket over both of you.
"Should I raise the temperature of air-con a little more?"
Thinking you are cold, he pulls you closer to him.
"What if I say I just wanted to be cozy?"
"Should we postpone the movie for tomorrow and do something else tonight then?"
"You- we should continue the movie purr-ty please..."
"Pfft, got it."
Silently burying your face on his chest to hide your red cheeks, you get amazed by the common fact that all this time you have spent together, you still can't understand how he is so smooth with his words. But at least he seems happy, so it's worth it.
The movie is about the nemesis of a famous detective, but from his point of view. Why he committed crimes, what was his view of an ideal world and upto what extent he could sacrifice to reach his goal. You have been a fan of the manga series, so were over the moon when the movie was announced. And now you got the chance to watch it! As for Kasumi, he showed interest in the manga when you shared it with him, and now he enjoyed it as well.
As the movie is about halfway, your eyes start to get heavy. The protagonist is standing in a field full of white lillies, and while gazing at the blue sky, mumbles to himself that if the detective and him can be born again, it would be lucky if they can be true friends that time and not enemies.
Maybe it's the work fatigue, or the serene scenery of the movie, or perhaps the comfort of being with Kasumi, that you decide to spill the thoughts you had in the hospital earlier.
"Kasumi?"
"Mm? Are you sleepy?"
"A little. But I want to share with you why I was actually smiling earlier in the HQ. Be patient until I finish my words okay?"
"Alright."
Leaning on his shoulder, you close your eyes to put the right words on your thoughts and to convey it to him clearly.
"You know, back when I was in med school, I felt pathetic and disgusted by myself often. Even though everyone encouraged me saying I will become a good doctor in the future, in that process, they subsequently killed my heart by indirectly implying that I shouldn't expect happiness in the process. I also wanted to visit places with friends, grab dinner with them and just have a good time sometimes. But that had become impossible for someone like me. Of course, Asuka became my sole Anam Cara* later, but those lingering feelings would never go."
"..."
You knew he would listen to you and wouldn't interrupt, so fighting your drowsiness, you continue.
"I do believe in miracles. But I never thought I would be blessed with such a great miracle, that is, meeting you. My first impression of you was that of a disciplined and top surgeon, someone I should admire and aspire to be. I used to see your care for your patients. That's when I thought, what a gentle heart he has. I hope may he stay happy. When you saved me from that speeding truck, what I was more shocked at rather than the accident was the fact that why did you save me? Your care and love that is like a vast expanse of the sky, soothing to watch at, but at the same time was so far from me, could I perhaps reach it? I was conflicted by own feelings. I was scared that I would hurt you, or maybe would hurt myself if I came to know you already had a significant other. That's why I still feel like dreaming that such a kind person accepted someone like me."
"MC..."
You could feel his bangs softly caressing you, that result in making you feel even more sleepy.
"So if I say I want to be with you, is that okay? If I say let's get married, and grow old together.... is... that... o-okay..."
As you are almost about to express your innermost feelings, sleep takes over you.
"Not even waiting for me to reply? My cute MC, you again suceeded in stealing my heart for the umpteenth time. As for the answer--"
He turns off the TV, lifts you up to take you to the bedroom and carefully whispers midway so as to not wake you up...
"The answer's always been yes."

Man I’ve missed all their banter 🥰

Naming MCs from love 365 titles pt.1
Just my perception on what name suits them the best
1. Masquerade Kiss : Arisa (noble) or Akari (red plum). Idk she just gives the vibe that her name starts with A and has r in it. Also these names sound sophisticated enough for her. Fits her vibe
2. KBTBB : Ai (selfless love); highly self explanatory.
3. Kings of Paradise : Sayuri (small lily); she's delicate like a flower and Sayuri is a commonly used traditional name so that goes with her image (atleast in S1).
4. Our Private Homeroom : Mio (beautiful cherry blossom). Cherry blossoms symbolize the fleeting nature of life and Mc here is in her late teens which also go by very quickly.
5. Irresistible Mistakes : Namie (blessing) idk she seems like someone who's name would start with N and have an M in it? Maybe because I associate her with Natsume all the time? Also it'll sound cute in Araki's route if they do end up adopting Nanami some day.
6. Rose in the Embers : Tsubaki (camellia flower) if you have read Kyosuke's route you know how unjustified it is to name her something else.
7. Romance MD : Yuki (happiness). She's the happiness to her Dr. Right in every route and the other EICU docs too (aside from Sen in Kasumi's route 💀).
For now I'll keep it to this. If you want more pls lmk 💖

Iris, pls write what you think of Kasumi as a husband? As a dad?
Hello, Anon! Thank you for sending your ask my way. I can't say I know a lot about Kasumi, but let me take a stab at it. I really hope you like it. 💕
As a husband...
Assuming you're both Cardiologists at the Seimei University Hospital, you can expect him to do the right thing and move you out of EICU so that you won't be reporting to him because he cares a lot about your career. He won't allow office politics to get in the way of your talent.
Despite moving you to the Cardiology department, he'll still manage to steal you away at work - whether it's attending your prep or post-op meetings, observing you do your rounds, or calling you in his office for a "consult". This man has ways to lure you into his trap.
When you don't have the same rest day, he'll call you to say he just happened to be around the area and ask if you'd like to have lunch. (Note: Your new apartment is on the other side of town) he'll also say he has business to attend to someplace nearby, and will casually tell you that he'll pick you up when you clock out. (You can't say no to this because you know he won't budge).
Dates are a must on days when you have the same rest day. If you want to go to an aquarium, he'll have purchased tickets to every event and show in the place in advance so you don't have to stand in line. If you want to wear matching shirts, he's all for it, and will suggest you wear matching sneakers, too.
He's the type of guy who'll take lots of pictures. He won't mind taking selfies of the two of you - whether it's smiling brightly while standing right by the penguins, or making funny faces while waiting for the dolphin show to start - but he loves taking pictures of you best, especially when you're not looking.
The doctors at the EICU would have the time of their lives teasing him about the pictures of your latest outing you've uploaded on social media. They'll say there must've been a glitch in the matrix as they stare at the picture of you and him with your tongues out and your eyes crossed, looking like dorks. But it'll only take one sharp glance from him to silence them and he'll retreat to his office and view your profile himself.
As he looks at the pictures you've uploaded, he'll remember how amazed you were at everything you saw yesterday and smile. Running a finger along your smiling face on his phone, he'll start to imagine how great it must be if the two of you could have a little you to bring along at the aquarium the next time you visit.
As a dad...
This guy is the ultimate hands-on dad (and husband to you!) You had a difficult labor and had to get a C-section at the last minute, so he wanted to make sure you have enough time to recover.
From the time your son was born, Kasumi hardly left the little one's side. He doesn't mind taking care of him - burping him after you feed him, lulling him to sleep, and changing his diapers.
You've lost count of the number of times you caught him singing softly to your son while he watches him sleep, and the times he fell asleep by the little one's crib because he had to check on him in the middle of the night.
He'll pretend to be uninterested but has memorized all the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Disney songs and has a playlist of nursery rhymes, which he plays in the car when you're going to the doctor or on an outing.
He'll feign nonchalance, but is actually over the moon when the hospital staff fawn over the little one, saying he looks like a mini version of him.
He'll gladly accept the "Future Heart Fixer", " Future Heart Breaker", "Future Heart Doctor" onesies from his Uncles Munechika, Tetsuya and Sentaro would send over, but wouldn't dare impose anything on his son. He'll gladly support whatever the little one wants to be when he grows up.
On nights when he has to come home late and finds you asleep with your son in your arms, he'll snap a picture, press a kiss on your forehead, and gently stroke your son's head. He'll stare fondly at your sleeping forms, and thank his lucky stars because from now on, he's never gonna be alone again.
The end.
