Spending international women's day watching magical women rip each other apart and look amazing doing it, ginger sapphics making out, a reluctant alliance between the most repressed woman (witch) you've ever seen and her archenemy who's the hottest woman (also a witch) you've ever seen. In general women with lots of spears. Lesbians pining for each other across a city. At least two once and future queens. Powerful women, insane women, scheming women. Women who can and will kill you given half a chance and women you would swear your allegiance to and follow to the ends of the earth. Could not have asked for more truly.

everyone fighting for their lives in the bubble of evil… meanwhile elayne and aviendha are lezzing out upstairs. wheel of time is SO BACK

I really love how the wheel of time tv show (I’ve never read the books) has been able to make each important and powerful character different from one another. Many of the female characters are just straight up super powerful channellers but they still have their own strengths and weaknesses. Moraine dosen’t have the raw power of Lanfear or Nyneave, but she has experience and the willingness to strategically do whatever is necessary. Egwene has more raw power than Moraine, but far less experience. Her gift however, lies in the world of dreaming. Nynaeve is the most powerful of all (Dragon Reborn and Forsaken excluded) but she does not/cannot use her power as other powerful novices like Elayne and Egwene can (for now). Elayne is as powerful as Egwene and though she lacks her gift for the dreaming she is also the daughter-heir of Andor. Aviendha is a powerful channeller and a deadly warrior who learned none of her skills as other prominent characters have. And that’s only the women! Rand is well, the Dragon Reborn Chosen One™️ ofc, but then we have characters like Mat and Perrin. Perrin who is a wolf brother, a magical entity entirely its own outside of the one power. Then Mat, who always was a bit of a trickster and got away with it because for whatever reason he just has more luck than any one person should. Mat, who also goes on to blow the horn of Valere, thus tethering him to heroes of ages past and allowing him scattered access to their skills, languages, talents, traumas, etc. Then there is Min, who can see people’s futures yet her ability has seemingly nothing to do with the one power. Even the Forsaken, as extraordinarily powerful and knowledgeable as they are, still specialize. While the strongest among them relies on brute strength, another specializes in mass mind control, and the weakest among them recognizes her standing and makes up for it with skill and patience. It’s all just so engaging and epic and intricate and fucking fun.
