The Scooby gang are friends. The Scooby gang are BEST FRIENDS. THEY ARE BEST FRIENDS AND THEY LOVE EACH OTHER SO MUCH. THEY TRAVEL AROUND SOLVING MYSTERIES FOR AS LONG AS THEY CAN BECAUSE THEY HAVE A PASSION FOR IT AND BECAUSE IT MEANS THEY GET TO SPEND TIME TOGETHER WITH EACH OTHER. THEY ARE BEST FRIENDS.

They don’t hate each other. Maybe they get annoyed and cause they’re together all the time it might get a bit much sometimes but at the end of the day, they really deeply care about each other. They live out of a van most of the time and are on the road constantly out of CHOICE. TOGETHER. for crying out loud.

They are four teenagers and a Great Dane. They’re a family.

*shaking nomura and the rest of the kingdom hearts writing team* I need sora to lose it I need him to go absolutely bonkers I need the culmination of all his repression/actively supressing any of negative emotions and covering up anything of the like with a smile to be analyzed and I need Sora’s lack of self worth and his belief in only being loved if he is useful and/or only ever positive to be torn down. I need Quadratum and KH4 to read him for filth about his coping mechanisms and I need his inner darkness to be looked at more because he has it’s there it’ll only get worse as time goes on the longer he pretends it doesn’t exist. I need to see him rage and I need someone to SEE him do so and talk to him about it

Ok. Ok wait. Hold on just realized something. Sora has lost his powers throughout the Kingdom Hearts series multiple times — Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts 2, Dream Drop Distance (the command deck is mostly the Mark of Mastery testing his skills with the “official” way to fight; and also it’s in his dreams), and finally Kingdom Hearts 3. What’s Sora’s source of power that he keeps losing?

“I don’t need a weapon. My friends are my power.” (KH1)

“I know the keyblade didn’t choose me, and I don’t care. I’m proud to be a small part of something bigger — the people it did choose. My friends. They are my power!” (Dream Drop Distance)

Sora associates all his power as coming from his friends, so much so that when almost all of them are presumably killed by the Demon Tide at the Keyblade Graveyard, he straight up falls to his knees and gives ups. The only reason he gets back up is because Riku tells him moments before sacrificing himself for Sora that he, Riku, believes in Sora. Riku believes that Sora will find a way to bring them all back from the brink. Not anyone else, just Sora.

Sora, I believe in you. You won’t give up. (JP translated line)

Where am I going with all of this? Sora doesn’t believe in his own power. In fact, he thinks he’s worthless without his friends (and the power they lend him.) His mantra is iconic, but it’s reduced his thinking to only associating all of his competence because of others, not because of his own actions or determination. His power is not his own.

So if Sora’s power is not his own, it explains why he keeps losing it so much; he doesn’t believe in it, so it doesn’t stick. I believe that Kingdom Hearts 4 and Sora’s time in Quadratum is setting up for him finally open his eyes to the power he’s always had. His friends aren’t going to be there to help him (at least not at first, if Riku traveling via portal to the other side of Reality is anything to go off of; that and Sora’s knack for making friends so easily) so he’ll have himself and only himself to rely on. He will realize that his power was always his to begin with, or he might just find a new power - resolve - to claim as entirely his own.

I can’t wait to see it.

Do any of you ever think about how it was Axel who told Roxas and Xion that things change, that nothing lasts forever, but as long they hold on to memories of each other, keep the other in their thoughts, than that would be enough.

“None of us will ever have to be apart”.

Except then things did change. And Axel was left the last one standing at the end of it all. And he grapples so desperately to remember all of it but even memories weren’t enough because he forgot Xion through no fault of his own and he KNOWS something is missing, that he’s lost more than Roxas on Day 355, but she was literally erased from existence. The horror of knowing you’ve forgotten someone but no matter what you do you can’t even coherently form a sliver of thought about who it could have been. This on top of the guilt of lying to Roxas like there’s a reason Axel sacrificed himself in Kingdom Hearts 2 with the knowledge of this being the end.

He didn’t think he was going to come back. And then he did but as Lea, with a heart, and he’s hit with the ONSLAUGHT of emotions he hasn’t really had to deal with for ten plus years.

Ask me again why the Sea Salt Trio is my favorite. Their reunion in Kingdom Hearts 3 is gut wrenching and beautiful GODDAMIT they’ve been through so much but I only just thought about it from Lea’s point of view and I’ve given myself more emotional damage than this group already does on the regular.

It just occurred to me that we could get a Shadow voice actor announcement for Sonic Movie 3 very soon. And it also just occurred to me how I just want it to be someone who truly loves the character; someone who really cares and will have fun with it. I personally don’t want a big name actor, but I’ll understand why if it does end up being like Robert Pattinson or someone one else, and if it it they need to prove they’re gonna give it their all. Please.

But i am also looking at Paramount and SEGA and whoever else will listen with the biggest most pleading eyes — what about Jason Griffith. What about bringing him back? If it’s not going to be relatively unknown VA then go all the way and hire Jason Griffith.

More kingdom hearts 3 thoughts while I’m playing it…. So like Sora’s been to several worlds where a true love’s sacrifice has been central to the plot.

Hercules/Mount Olympus: Herc diving down to Underworld to save Meg, though his took place technically in KH2 but KH3 builds upon it.

Tangled/The Kingdom of Corona: both Rapunzel and Eugene sacrifice themselves for each other — Rapunzel telling Mother Gothel she won’t try to run away ever again if she allowed her to heal Eugene, therefore sacrificing both her freedom and the rest of her life, and Eugene when he cuts Rapunzel’s hair instead of allowing her to heal him, freeing her from the power of the flower but ensuring his death.

All three sacrifice themselves for their loved ones, while knowing that they would most likely not get out alive. And it paid off in the end.

The Disney worlds in Kingdom Hearts primarily build up the story tension as foreshadowing or as parallels for what’s going on in the main story. So Kingdom Hearts 3 obviously has a true love’s sacrifice taking place amongst the main cast.

So who is it? Sora and Riku. To be more specific; it’s Riku stepping directly in front of Sora at the Keyblade Graveyard to protect him from the Demon Tide that allows Sora to even reach the Final World. Make of the rest of the game what you will, but Riku’s moment at the Graveyard is exactly that. I will update this list with more worlds and the examples I find as i continue the game.

I will add that Sora himself seems to attempt a sacrifice in this game when he’s trying to save Kairi with “all his heart”, but viewers/players/gamers will know that this attempt can’t really be compared because while it’s the same in name, the outcome turned out differently. Every true love sacrifice I’ve seen in this game so far had both parties come out unscathed in the end, even when death loomed directly over them. Sora literally destroys himself, shatters his heart, to save Kairi. He is dead and in the afterlife for trying. KH4 is about finding him and bringing him back. And Riku is the one to do it.

Marluxia put Sora to sleep with a hand motion in the Kingdom of Corona I might be looking at it too deeply and it literally could just be the Castle Oblivion powers and the control he had over Sora while he was Lord of the castle. His words to Sora before he knocks him out are “you always were a such a sound sleeper” and then Sora keels over, while there’s a distinct noise ringing in the background. I feel like it sounds just like the noise in Dream Drop Distance whenever Sora and Riku drop/switch places in gameplay. I love the attention to detail but I also have the suspicion it might be something more…. *eyes the 500 page Sleeping Realm Theory*

Hello good afternoon I cannot stop thinking about a sonic game that adapts the first few issues of IDW Sonic comics, hell, imagine the metal virus arc. I know it’d make no sense cause IDW has been confirmed to be sonic canon so all this would be happening twice but ouuuuughh I can’t unsee it. Like imagine sonic team with an expanded budget and Frontiers style open world and enough TIME getting a chance to make it a game…. It would emotionally destroy me YES but I would like to see it.

Beat both Vanitas and Xehanort on Proud mode only to get my ass consistently beat as Norted!Terra. IM FIGHTING AS THEEE LINGERING WILL WHICH IS SUPER COOL but I ended up having to restart [press continue] the battles cause the deck was just not doing me any favors. Gonna pick it up again tomorrow but now I’m just sitting down and thinking about Terra and feeling so sad cause he just wanted to protect his friends he just wanted to be good enough and in the end his body and heart are imprisoned from him for TEN YEARS. All the atrocities committed in his visage I’m going to chew through cement.

Ok I know the composer for the Sonic movies - JunkieXL - can write really banger soundtracks because he wrote for the last mad max so i need this guy to please go all out and make the soundtrack sound like Sonic. Please we desperately need Sonic music for these movie but ESPECIALLY for Sonic Movie 3 you can’t not have that - it was integral to Sonic Adventure 2 - and if movie 3 is going to adapt the game then Paramount can’t drop the ball on this. Like imagine not having Live and Learn play during the penultimate fight/climax of the movie

Sonic, desperate for cover, burrowing into the ground multiple times during his time on the Starfall Islands because it’s raining too hard and it’s dangerous to run and everyone knows you don’t take cover under a tree when there’s thunder and lightning. Sonic, cold and exhausted trying to sleep because he needs it, he can’t go on like this — he has before, with Chip when the world shattered to pieces, and during the Metal Virus — but his exhaustion is peaking sooner than he’s expected. So he curls up underground, tries not to think of the past, before Tails, before he met any of his friends, when he used to do this very thing every night.

It’s been so long.

It used to be normal. That, the smell of wet dirt, and the constant ache in his legs. Those had been facts of life; the sky was blue, hedgehogs couldn’t fly, and Sonic, alone. He didn’t mind it before. He shouldn’t mind it now.

…

The kocos cuddling around him for warmth in the little den he’s dug out for himself help a little.

He’ll find his friends. They’ll escape this island.
