Ahh I can’t believe this piece is actually going to be going to a new home this week! The bidding closes tomorrow at NOON (12/8)!!‼️ ~ River, 14x18 inch acrylic on canvas, was the start of a new chapter of finding my unique style as an artist. It was about believing in myself and my artwork, letting go of control and creating from a deeper place. It is the first piece of my first collection release, River. Was able to get more filming in for my video about invisible disability. It’s funny to me how The story will reveal itself to me slowly as I work on the video. The biggest challenge for this project has been finding a way to accurately beautifully and poetically capture all the conflicted feelings I feel about being disabled. On The one hand I feel a great sense of loss, but on the other I know this experience of losing abilities has shaped me and powerful and positive ways.
