Page 3. --- With loyal troops launching four separate offensives, reinforcing police in shelling and shooting riotous mobs of the Socialist revolutionary general strike Austria to-day counts a total of from 400 to 500 dead and probably thousands wounded. Street fighting continues to-day unabated. In the early hours before dawn, fighting was centred in four sections of Vienna at the Electric Power Plant, at the Reumanhof, one of the oldest and largest municipal buildings at the Karl Marxhof, largest building, and in the Thaliastrasse district. Here are shown important points in Vienna (1) Palace of justice (2) Parliament buildings. (3) "Rathaus", or city hall, around which fighting has occurred. (4) 'Burgtheatre' in the foreground. The spire of St. Stephen's church tower is seen above other buildings. (5) Chancellor Englebert Dollfuss, storm centre of the disturbances, and (6) Vienna Communal houses which were built in the slum areas not long age, and where much blood is being shed at this time. (7) Count Von Starkenberg, Fascist leader and contamiler of the "Heimwehr", who is upholding Chancellor Dollfuss, and who marched on Linz to-day. (8) Map of Austria, showing cities and towns affected by Socialist rioting.

Englebert was born Arnold George Dorsey in Madras, India, and had 23 chart entries from this his first, to 1983, credited only as Englebert. Two made the top ten.

Esther Phillips first charted Release Me in 1962, peaking at number eight. It was the number 71 song of the year., and it briefly charted again in 1967 when Englebert's version became a hit. Johnny Adams' remake charted in 1968 outside the top 40.
