“are you kidding me? i’m sure you could add something!” sunghoon complained.

“i already added a belt, 5 earrings, a fanny pack, and an extra arm. what more do you want from me?” you deadpan at your boyfriend.

he sighed in defeat.

“i don’t like hangman anymore.”

“because you lose?” you asked him, stifling your laughter.

“shut up...” he mumbles, grabbing a slice of pizza.

“ok what about we play a different game, like…” you dug through your closet. “...scrabble?” 

“another word game? it's like you want me to be miserable!” sunghoon whined, stuffing his face into a pillow. 

“ok, ok…what about rock-paper-scissors?” you asked him, grabbing a cheeto from the bowl next to you.

“basic ass bitch.” he mumbled with his head still stuffed in the pillow. 

you threw a cheeto at him, “then you choose the game! don’t attack me cause youre bad at everything.” 

“bad at everything? wanna have a dance battle?” he raised his eyebrows in question, with a smirk on his face.

“i can barely walk straight, i am not dancing.”

“i can teach you.”

“so that i embarrass myself and you laugh at my misery? no, thank you.” you shudder.

“i swear i wont laugh. just let me teach you!” he said, dramatically falling at your feet.

you sighed. “alright then, but one wrong move and you're dead.” 

“no no- put your leg here then- NO not there- put it here then kick forward and dro- NO YOURE GOING TO KILL YOURSELF-”

you plopped on the floor and lay down, breathing rapidly.

“i suck at dancing.”

“you really fucking do..” he deadpans at you, earning a slap on his head.

“youre the one that decided future perfect was a good beginner’s song.” 

“...fair enough”

“so, now what?” you look at him from the floor. 

he dug into his backpack and pulled out a deck of cards. 

“what do you think about uno?” he asked.

“that never ends well...” you said hesitatingly.

“let's find out then…” he replied, shuffling the cards.

sunghoon places a colour change wild card.

“i change the colour to red!” he said.

you smiled.

“thank you, and sorry hoon.”

you placed a red +2 card.

sunghoon looked at you in defeat before placing a +4 card on top.

“hey you cant do that!” you complained.

“my game, my rules.” he said smugly.

“literally no one plays the game like that…”

“but i do!”

“it makes no sense! just pick two goddamn cards.” you said.

he huffed. “fine”

he picked up two cards.

you placed your last second card.

“uno!”

sunghoon looked at you as if you had just kidnapped his dog.

“+4???? ARE YOU TRYING TO BREAK OUR RELATIONSHIP???” 

“no, im literally just better at this game than you are.”

“i give up.” he said, sulkingly throwing his cards in the air before lying on the floor, defeated.

just then, niki walked into the room.

“yo whats up with him?” he asked, pointing at sunghoon.

“hes going through a midlife crisis.” sunghoon’s head snapped up.

“its a PRE midlife crisis, thank you very much.”

Dance with me – Nishimura Niki

Pairing: Enhypen Niki x female!reader

Genre: Massive fluff

Word count: 800+

It's late. The clock on the wall reads nearly two o'clock in the morning as you stood in the kitchen with a glass of water. That time was too late for you. You'd be asleep right now if you weren't recovering from a nightmare. Everytime you thought back to it you got a cold chill down your arms and spine. 

Normally you would try and distract your brain from the imagines of the nightmare by going on your phone for a few seconds or thinking of something completely random. But the shadows and objects in your room were of no help to your imagination. The dream remained fresh in your mind for a solid ten minutes as you laid awake in bed. A glass of water came to mind when you were thinking of ways to help yourself go back to sleep. So you went to the kitchen to try the idea. 

You thought you were alone in your wake state but were surprised to see your boyfriend's figure appear in the entrance to the kitchen. The light above the sink was the only light offered to show his presence. You could see him easily, just not the things behind him. He didn't seem to be half asleep, rather completely awake. 

"What are you doing?" Niki asked, knowing you went to bed hours ago.

You rubbed your eyes and set the glass down as he entered the kitchen area. Niki walked into the kitchen after finding out it was you who was up and around. Truth be told the commotion had the hair on his neck standing straight up though he would never admit it. 

"Just had a nightmare is all," you gave him a small smile to try and sooth the concern in his eyes. "What are you doing up?"

"I was playing games with Heeseung hyung," he answered giving you a kiss on your forehead before he engulfed you in a hug. He rested his chin on your head and slowly began to rock you side to side. It was very soothing and helped rid your mind of the nightmare. Instead it filled your head with warm thoughts, sweet images, and a throbbing heart. His tall figure against your own made you feel safe. 

Niki pulled back after a minute. An idea came to him and it was beginning to make him smile. You grew confused as he pulled you over to the open area of the kitchen. It faded however when Niki grabbed your arms and took your left hand in his right, placing your other arm on his left bicep. His left hand came around your waist and rested in the middle of your back. Niki gently pulled your head to rest on his chest as he softly began to sway you around. 

He kept the moves simple, occasionally spinning you around slowly, leading your little waltz in the dull light. He pushed you back at one point, twirling you around once before pulling you back in to his chest, finishing off with a slow dip. He kissed your lips then. It made him slightly embarrassed to be soft and affectionate to you. A smile appeared on his face after the kiss and he pulled you back into the same position as before so you couldn't see his ears reddening. Feeling his heart skip a beat put a smile on your face.  

"How can you find rthymn when there's no music?" you asked him. He hummed at the question, closing his eyes as you laced your fingers in his. 

"Everytime I'm with you I think of a thousand songs." 

"Which one are you moving to now?"

"Tango," Niki said thinking of one of his favorite songs. 

"But we aren't in a tango," you giggled, looking up at him to see a twinkle in his eyes. The loose hoodie on Niki and your fleece pajama pants didn't match the usual attire for a tango and the feeling of the cold floor under your bare feet indicated the improper foot wear. 

"You just woke up, I don't want to scare you."

Both of you laughed at the thought of you both dancing a tango in your small kitchen at two o'clock in the morning half asleep. A small slow dance was perfect and helped you feel better.

"Do you feel better?" Niki asked after a while. There was something else hiding behind his tone.

"Let me guess," you looked up at him to see you had his attention. A childlike glint was gleaming in his eyes. "You want to return to your game?"

"Yep," Niki confirmed. You laughed shaking your head as you pulled away from his hold. 

"Go," you told him, going back over to your water. Niki smiled so big and bounded out of the room, but not before running back in to give you a big sloppy kiss on the mouth to which you whined at. There was no time however for your boyfriend because he needed to get back to his game this instant. 

A romantic heartthrob one minute, and a giddy child the next.

"no niki, i will not let you make dinner" you deadpanned, pushing him aside so that you could get ingredients on the top shelf.

"but y/n!" he whined. "I have cooked so many times before, and it was all amazing!"

"reheating last night's leftovers is NOT cooking." you stated, shaking your head. "i don't want you setting my kitchen on fire-" you looked him in the eye, "-again."

his eyes widened. "that was ONE time."

"one time is a lot of times to set someone's kitchen on sire, niki! sorry chief." you told him, once and for all, resulting in a sulky niki. no one, i repeat, no one likes a sulky niki.

"y/n." he called. you turned around to face him.

"what is it?"

“look there! my will to live… it’s gone.”

you giggled. "all this drama because you can't cook to save your life?"

"hey! do you know the number of gordon ramsey videos I've watched? what are you? idiot sandwich, y/n. idiot sandwich." he retorted.

you laughed at your friend. "oh my god, alright. you can cook."

niki did a little victory dance before he took his apron from you, but you then held his collar tight.

"i swear, if you set my kitchen on fire again niki..."

he gulped. "yes ma'am. i will not do that."

cue 2 hours later, you hear absolutely no sound from the kitchen. you really hoped that was just him taking a break. but then of course, life hates you, so the fire alarm goes off.

you run into the kitchen and screaming a little when you see niki's shirt on fire.

"HOW DO YOU KISS A GIRL?" jungwon asked nervously, making you choke on your water. you coughed, trying to clear your throat.

"kiss?" you raised your eyebrows, feeling your heart sink. It was clear he liked someone else, asking such a basic question to you, his best friend and secret crush since age 5. your dream of romance shattered.

"yeah, kiss..." jungwon coughed awkwardly, making your heart heavier.

"oh..." your voice trailed off, thinking of what to say. "just go with the flow," you suggested. Jungwon thought for a moment and then paused.

"should I try with my crush, then?" he asked, leaving you puzzled.

"she's here?" you questioned, looking around the park.

"yeah, so should I?" Jungwon asked. your heart sank further, realizing he was about to kiss his crush right in front of you.

"yeah, you should," you replied, feeling burdened but determined to make Jungwon happy. Your hopes of him asking you out vanished.

and then it happened. In seconds of advising Jungwon to kiss his crush, you felt his lips on yours. everything clicked; you were his crush. It was unexpected, a rush of warmth flooding through you. his lips were soft against yours, and for a moment, the world stood still. frozen, you felt his cheeks burn as he pulled away.

"jungwon..." you began, but he interrupted.

"okay, if you don't have mutual-"

"I like you too, Jungwon. I've liked you since the beginning," you confessed, surprising him.

"me too," his cheeks flushed. "So, what are we?"

"maybe we'll figure it out after this," you said, leaning in for another kiss. the touch of his lips on yours sending a shiver down your spine, his lips perfectly fitting yours. everything was truly perfect.
