Technique 1:

 Clean boot Windows 8 and Windows 8.1:

When you encounter some sort of erratic behavior on Windows 8 first try to fix the issue by taking an analytical approach. There may be several reasons why these issues are occurring such as BSODs, slowdowns, sudden reboots, computer freezes, etc. The easiest way to find the problem is to do a clean boot. By using a clean boot you can ascertain whether the Operating System has been damaged by a bad driver or some third party app. You will thereby stop these influences from loading.

Ensure that two things are done before you attempt a clean boot.

First, find out if the problem is caused by a third party application. By disabling all third party apps from startup you will eliminate software conflicts.

 ·        Select Windows + R on the keyboard. Then the Run dialog box will open up.

·        Type the word MSConfig in the dialog box and select “OK”.

·        The System Configuration utility will then appear on the screen.

·        On the Services tab of the System Configuration dialog box, select the Hide all Microsoft services check box, then select Disable all.

·        On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, select Open Task Manager.

·        On the Startup tab in Task Manager, select each of the startup items then check Disable.

·        On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, select OK, then restart the computer.

Close MSConfig.

 Technique 2:

The second method is a Safe boot. To accomplish a safe boot please follow the steps below:

·        Select Win + R shortcut keys on the keyboard. Then the Run dialog will appear on the screen. Type in the word MSConfig, then press Enter.

·        The ‘System Configuration’ application will then appear on the screen.

·        Go to the ‘Boot’ tab and select your Windows 8.1 entry then check the ‘Safe mode’ checkbox.

·        Reboot the PC in order to enter the Safe mode of Windows 8.1.

·        After troubleshooting in Safe Mode is complete, run MSConfig once more in Safe Mode and uncheck the box from step 2.

Technique 3:

In this technique you should try and find the $Windows.~BT Folder that is in your primary drive which is C:\. Corrupt files may be present in this folder which stops you from installing Windows 10. You will need to unhide this folder as it is normally hidden. Follow these steps below:

1.    Open File explorer or you can double click on My Computer or This PC.

2.   From the top option select View now Check the Box that says Hidden items.

3.   You will now be able to see all hidden files and folders. Go to C:\$Windows.~BT then rename that folder to $Windows.~BT1 or something like that.

4.   Try to download Windows 10 once more. It should get installed this time around without any problems or errors such as code C1900107.

Technique 4:

If all the previous techniques fail then try this:

1.    Go to C:\Windows\Software Distribution\Download. Then delete all the files found in this download folder. Do not forget not to delete the folder itself only delete the files.

2.   Now go ahead and delete the $Windows.~BT Folder. You may be prompted for administrator permission. Just select yes.

3.   You can now try to upgrade or install Windows 10. You should now be able to complete the process with hassle or any error code C1900107.
