Tbh i think that Wayne Family Adventures and subsequent webtoons have contributed positively to DCs sales (the thing they care about most) but negatively to the fandom and how the characters are perceived. They’re easy to write and churn out, but the development of characters and plot is sacrificed. These watered down versions are easily accessible to the masses and lead to more DC products to be purchased when people want more. But time after time (especially on TikTok) i see people saying “X comic is ooc” and when I go to their profile, they’re a wfa fan. Most of the time in regard to a comic that is widely considered good characterization. Or the ones who comment “this is why i only read wfa 🤪” on videos that are critical or talk about the bad things some of these characters have done. I think that people need to realize that the webtoons are the one’s who are ooc. The characters are one-dimensional and what is regarded as ‘good dad bruce contrent’ in wfa has its own slew of problems. Because yeah, Bruce is a bad father in canon. He cares about his kids but he is not a good father to them. The two aren’t mutually exclusive. I think the webtoons are a good idea. It’s great that its a free resource that is readily accessible. Comics can be an expensive interest and seem intimidating. I just wish DC would have put more thought into it before creating WFA. Because these characters are very complex and should be handled with care. It’s irresponsible to give a whole generation of readers the wrong idea about the characters and their dynamics with each other.

1. Usually my breakfast looks like number 2 but number 3 is pink and so pretty so I couldn’t resist! Gotta have the pink breakfast(i don’t even like strawberries that much)

2. This is all very much an outfit I would wear. But if it’s winter, I would probably wear the sweatshirt underneath the wind breaker cause I have zero cold tolerance. In fact I’m actually wearing a jersey and a blue wind breaker rn :)! The jeans are adorable and my style and I always choose converse above all else(I only have one pair which I got on sale cause they’re sooo expensive)

3. I’d take the middle bag cause it’s so so cute(also Totoro🤩🤩) but then complain after an hour and start wishing I’d carried the third bag cause my shoulders hurt :(

Also cash for snacks, phone for photos, headphones for the ride and I’m like attached to my lipgloss(I don’t use Carmen though but my mum used to)

4. Buses seem fun! Ergonomic! I don’t have to be outta breath by the time I get there! Also I’m going by my country and the nearest(only) aquarium here is in a whole other town so there’s no way I’m taking a taxi there but a bus is possible. Maybe I’d ask a friend but it’s just the two of us going right? Also I can slip on my headphones and zone out

5. I know you saved the best for last but I can’t do that! You know how much I love jellyfish! I am seeing them first most definitely 😌

Also we have option 3 at my aquarium and it was super cool but it wouldn’t be my fave thing to see but I should prob see it first so I do all my standing exhibits when I’m still high on energy

Lastly, sharks kinda scare me so number 4 would prob be second cause I’d get creeped out if I saw them last also it’s super crowded and I’m not a fan of screaming kids. But option 2 would be my last most definitely cause then we’d have plenty of time to sit together and take pretty pictures and look at the fish(it’s a 2 seater)

I was being optimistic about the album promo because we're still over a month to get the album, but today it's like he doesn't even care? Like i know he's tired, i completely get that, (that's why I think the dates of the album announcement and bigger than me release were awful), but these days seem so... Like why he's acting like he doesn't have the album he's more proud of coming out in a month? Does he thinks he still has the same fandom who got defenceless to #1 on itunes, or the one who got walls to #1 eight months after the release?? Because he clearly doesn't, most of those fans already lost interest on him, are not larries anymore, or are too busy to stream his music because they only have lives when it comes to Louis, and you can clearly see that on the BTM numbers. Isn't he aware of that?? He literally pays attention to everything the fandom does, so he has to know it. The only idea that comes to me is that he's ok with this, or is already resigned to have this career and doesn't expect anything else. Or maybe he thinks promote his music doesn't fit into his alternative music image he wants to give. Or maybe he thinks he's too cool to use tik tok or social media to promote his own music. Or maybe he's too dumb to fire his useless and stupid team who have to be the most incompetent bunch of people that I have ever seen, probably because he already considers them as family or some shit. I have no idea of what it's going on, but I really hope they have some strategy to engage fans and new people with the album, because I did already feel awful after see the numbers on BTM, to the point I didn't even could to enjoy my first louis's release, and I'm not gonna ruin fitf for me only because his stupid team can't do anything right.

I have a hard time imagining he doesn’t know. From the way he speaks about the fandom in the ZS interview, he seems to know a lot about what we say and how we react. So a part seems in touch with the fandom. But then…. Yeah I truly don’t know. In any case BTM and the album will provide a good overview of the current state. Now how will album sales be turned into tour tickets sales? I think he’s coming off the previous situation; Walls didn’t do well commercially but his tour, and his festivals, did. Hence his I don’t care about the album’s charting. But like Sanju pointed out, people who attended LTWT 2022 might not attend the 2023 edition. Especially with a new music genre. It’s very hard to predict…. I think Louis is faith in the future-ing and I guess this tour will still ride on the previous one, but what about the next?

Remember when Louis tweeted that “surely confidence and momentum is enough” for England to advance through the Euro Cup? I’m afraid he’s thinking this at the moment. He has newly gained confidence. For him, he has momentum; the way he’s been talking about rolling from tour to album to tour; how everything he’s doing is going over his expectations; how he’s just on a winning streak. But it doesn’t take much to break a momentum and if we’re looking at the current state of things, it might have happened. And going back to the quote at the beginning, it’s a risky situation to expect your fans to do all the work. Especially when they see that they’re the only ones doing any work.

If we want to be hopeful and *believe*, and think he has a magic trick up his sleeve, then we can imagine BTM was fandom-oriented and proper, big scale, amazing promo will happen for the album release. So there’s actually a proper repertoire to promote him as the artist he’s claiming to be. Faith in the future 🤪🤪🤪

Why Hello! It has been a minute, hasn't it :)

Hiya!!! I'm back.

You are probably wondering, err. who are you ? And back from where? We had no idea you were even around 🤪

Fair point, so let me start with a quick intro / refresher / update and then let me fly with this because I've been bursting to do this for over a year now but my old friend procrastinator keeps visiting.

I'm Lynette, middle aged (45 for another 2 months), tech entrepreneur, mother of 2 teenagers, part time lecturer and most recently a beauty influencer.

YES, you read correctly! Let me explain a bit more which will give you some insight into where I am even going with this blog (that I happened to start over 11 years ago...like how many Tumblr blogs do you see these days, proof that I am one of the OG's of blogging)

Q. So you are a Tech Entrepreneur ? When you started this blog, you just worked in IT or tech right?

A. That is correct. I've been in the tech industry for over 25 years now. About 8 years ago, the company I was at closed down and at the time, there just wasn't a role for me anywhere that got me excited. I had been with this company for over 3 years and cultivated an amazing role for myself as Head of Mobile Apps, Strategy and User Experience but it was more than just a role or a job - it was everything that I loved doing when I was away from my kids. So much so that blogging became a thing of the past.

So 8 years ago I decided if I can't find the role I want, I'll just start up a digital consultancy create it - which I did and I've been going for 8 years.

Starting your own tech company wasn't just working at a tech company anymore - i was and still am the sales person, support person, social media manager, head of PR, head of people, amongst actually creating cool app experiences.

Q. Great, but where does the lecturing fit in?

A. Working in the digital space and breaking boundaries in the app space got me somewhat noticed especially as I was one of the few women doing it, and a woman of colour too. I got approached by various tertiary institutions to product course content for their digital modules a year after I was on my own (yes I was facilitating online learning years before it become the new norm).

A year prior to the pandemic I did take up a contract position at a local university to drive and lead social innovation. It was a lovely thing to do from a personal perspective and to give back the knowledge I had gained over the years to help the youths of this country become employable.

Q. That sounds amazing and hectic, don't you also have kids of your own ? And where does the makeup and beauty stuff come in?

A. Yes i do have two kids and they are teens now, so not as dependent on me as they were when I started this blog. Parenting two teenagers in this modern world is interesting 🤨

The beauty stuff actually came in towards the end of year 1 of the pandemic, back in 2020 , around Black Friday. I remember the date well because it started a crazy makeup addiction. A few months after I decided that I will not buy anymore makeup until I learn how to use it properly. (another thing to fuel that addiction)

I attended numerous Zoom and Instagram live classes in the evenings learning from industry experts globally and challenging myself to create makeup looks and to wear colours I never dreamt of wearing.

At the same time I also decided to become my own skincare therapist (during lockdown those special spa and massage moments became extinct). I've always been passionate about skincare and good skincare practices, thanks to my mother but now with my new found knowledge of makeup, i found I really enjoyed merging those two worlds and getting to understand myself a-lot better and practicing self-care.

Q. Wow, from tech girl to beauty..... and the point of resurrecting this blog is....?

A. To share my love for beauty with everyone so that they can be inspired to try out something new too. Also to connect with people who also have a love for beauty.

I'm 45, I'm not exactly the what the beauty industry displays on their IG feeds but that doesn't stop me from loving taking care of my skin and now experimenting with colour on my face.

There is something empowering when you are able to look into a mirror and like the image you see, with or without makeup on and it took me a while to get to that place. I loved makeup before I took up makeup artistry as a hobby but I was certainly never comfortable wearing a bright red lipstick or glitter eyes. Also if there was an event, I never felt confident or wonderful about myself doing my own makeup, unless I got a pro to do it for me - which wasn't always possible.

I still love getting pros to do my makeup, but it's become a nice to have. Learning and perfecting my techniques daily, while also acquiring product knowledge has empowered me to be in complete control of my appearance and appreciate my beauty and flaws. Reaching this level of confidence has definitely made me better at handling whatever life throws at me. Of course life is never easy, but at least I can do it with a killer smokey-eye and a bold red lip now. ☺️
