Give Monday the slap it deserves with a quadruple-headed bill of real OUT sounds by a visiting artist, a new resident artist, a long-serving local artist and a freshly reanimated artist in a university building that none of them have ever played at before. You can find out more about this show and make a donation for tickets here.

The International Blog by John Rodgers (Updated Wednesday 1st March 2017 @ 12:40pm) Bruce McNaught and his management team must have been happy with the Scottish Select team’s performance last night v Sauchie Juniors at Dalziel Park last night. With the trip to play the Northern (Irish) League looming for the amateurs and a Quarter Finals of the Scottish Junior Cup date away to Glenafton Juniors, both managers had an ideal opportunity to test their players resolve and fine tune their tactics and formations. The fact that the Scottish team ran out winner with an impressive three goal margin won't concern either management team as long as lessons are learnt. Goals from Shaun Martin (Craigshill Thistle) in the first half, followed by Robert McKenzie (Sandys AFC) and Paul McCraken (Craigshill Thistle) with no replay made it seem like and easy evening but the Stirlingshire side did have their impressive moments but lacked a fair measure of luck. So a good evening for the Scottish squad and with another game in the pipeline and no doubt some training session before they depart for Northern Ireland at the end of March will keep everybody sharp as well as busy. As for other aspects of the occasion, it was nice to see former Scottish Select players Greg Maitland and Martin Sheilds playing their part for Sauchie, while Scotland’s captain for the evening Gary Currie had a spell with the Stirlingshire outfit. The match officials Euan Cruickshanks, John Campbell & Sean Henderson from the Strathclyde Saturday Morning League have also to be congratulated for their fine performance which will please Andy Bryant. Thanks also to Sauchie Juniors and the best of luck for the rest of the season, especially in their Scottish Junior Cup endeavors. So no time to rest in our laurels as we all march towards the next obstacle or should I say challenge. 1 Stuart WilsonGartcosh United 2 Gary CurrieBannockburn 3 Chris MaloneSouthside 4 Scott Crone Dalziel HSFP 5 Steven Greenlees Colville Park 6 Darren MillerColville Park 7 Shaun MartinCraigshill Thistle 8 Allan McCrumLarkhall Thistle 9 Paul McLaughlin Colville Park 10 Christopher Craig Colville Park 11 Kieran Brannan Larkhall Thistle 12 Harry BruceBannockburn 14 Grant Drummond Larkhall Thistle 15 Kenny McLellanBannockburn 16 Paul McCracken Craigshill Thistle 17 Kris Lafferty Possil YMCA 18 Kallum McAulay Craigshill Thistle 19 Robert McKenzie Sandys AFC 21 David Tait Bannockburn AFC
