so i kept saying that i was going to post my oc and now i am after finding all of the art i still have saved on my phone (i have more of them i just haven’t got pictures of it all since they’re on the board that’ll be ordering back). before i give an introduction under the cut i’d just like to give the context that this was for part of my higher art project focusing on design (it wasn’t solely about them it was about a whole game) and the design was for a brand new sonic riders game that also happened to be a crossover with sonic prime which at the time had just released its first season. i’ll give more context in another post featuring other art i had to do for it but this post is about my oc!
everybody meet everett! they use they/them pronouns and they’re a snow leopard!
they live in the caves at the mountain tops of the stellar mountain range protecting their world’s prism shard known as “The Atlas Star” (protecting it similarly to how knuckles protects the master emerald of how thorn rose protects the great green). most days are spent on guard protecting the prism from the only others that they know, those others being the babylon rogues who would love more than anything to get their hands on the shard. they aren’t always alone however as they have a chao companion who often keeps them company while they’re guarding the shard and helping chase away the rogues whenever they get too close. when the day’s hard work is done however everett will sit and stare out at the stars reading them and hoping and wishing on them for good fortune to come.
it just so happens that one of these nights while hoping for good fortune that something peculiar happens to the snow leopard as they watch a blue blur crash into the evergreen forests below the mountain. i wonder what that could be…
i chose the name everett because i saw from multiple sources that it meant “brave” and felt that fit them well having to fight for their shard constantly and put the shard before themself a lot. i’ve also always associated snow leopard with being very brave animals living in the snowy and mountainous conditions that they live in naturally. the name also kind of sounded like mount everest which was also fitting.
when it came to making their design i knew i wasn’t going to go for typical snow leopard colours because this is a sonic oc we’re talking about and hedgehogs aren’t exactly blue in real life. i was either going to go with dark blue or purple spots and i, obviously ended up going for the purple to match the purple present on the atlas star. the blue colour however wasn’t completely lost as that then became their eye colour! their markings were surprisingly hard to figure out and keep consistent throughout their design but i ended up figuring something i felt was good eventually. the star marking on their forehead is really something i should’ve included from the start since everett is really closely connected with the stars (wether that be the atlas star, the stars on their gear or the stars they watch every night) but it didn’t click until later when i needed to fill a blank void on their head. the hair tuft was also another later edition, so late in fact that it wasn’t present in any of the pencil drawings of them. i added the hair tuft purely because they looks strange without having anything on their head and it turned out very cute!
their extreme gear was very simple to come up with as i just wanted to have fun and mess around with the colour scheme for their board since i was stuck without a very varied pallet for sonic and jet. their goggles are the original blue that i mixed for the sonic art i made for the front cover of the box art along with a lighter and darker shade. their gloves have textured grips on their fingers and palms to aid in climbing slopes and rocks easier and it isn’t seen here but their snow boots have paw print markings on the bottoms of them. i gave them scuffed knee pads because i liked the idea that they weren’t a very experienced flier on their extreme gear which has lead to a lot of falls on their knees during their practice attempts. even if they aren’t a good flier though they’re a very good snowboarder.
i loved designing everett and they’re probably the best thing that came out of that art class. i’d like to sincerely thank everett for getting me that B in higher art thank you. even though i don’t take art anymore i’m still going to draw everett because why the heck not, right?

Deina: *Laughs, leaning against Everett*
Natty: But seriously, Deina, it's amazing that you're an Animagus!
Deina: To be honest, I didn't even know I was!
Ominis: How could you not know something like that
Sebastian and Deina: *Looks at each other, sighing*
Imelda: Let me guess....your Mother's side..
Deina: I don't know if they did this but...you know that feeling you get when you wanna save someone but you're not close enough or gonna be fast enough
Ominis: I'd say that's desperation..
Poppy: *Nods, looking at Ominis then over at Deina*
Deina: Yeah, it...it was something like that, I saw Everett still close to the potion and just something in me.....snapped
Deina: Next thing I knew, I was a snow leopard and tackling Everett out of the way with a single leap!
Everett: Well that single leap saved my hide!
Deina: *Laughs with Natty and Poppy, smiling*
Imelda: *Grins* Gross, nobody wants to hear about your back side
Sebastian; But Deina, can you turn back and forth at will?
Deina: I can try, if not then me turning back the first time was sheer dumb luck..
Poppy: Give it a try, see if you can do it..
Deina: *Sighs and closes her eyes, focusing on the sounds around her*
Natty: Nothing....is happening..
Deina: *Opens her eyes, looking at them all*
Ominis: I don't smell a wild animal...
Sebastian: Yeah, cause she's still human
Imelda: I guess she can't control it....maybe it only happens when theirs danger
Everett: Oh! Why is everyone looking at me
Deina: NO!! *Chuckles, shaking her head* We are not putting anyone into danger to test such a theory!
Sebastian: A shame, I'd like a little revenge for him putting you in danger
Deina: *Places a hand on his shoulder* Sebastian, you're too protective, chillax, you don't gotta always look over my shoulder
Sebastian: *Leans close, staring down at her* I want to.....I'd rather not be a bystander to your pain again..
Deina: *Stares at him surprised* O-Oh...
Sebastian: *Grabs her hand, nodding to her* Alright...
Deina: *Nods* O-Okay
Ominis: Oh get a room!
Natty and Imelda: *Laughs, looking at the boy* Ominis!
Deina: *Looks at him, smiling* That's rude!
Ominis: But it's true, I can feel the love from here
Sebastian: You're just jealous, I'm taking your place as her protector
Ominis: Yeah, whatever, lover boy
Poppy: *Chuckles*
Everett: *Smiles at Deina, getting smile in return*
Deina: *Sighs, leaning against Sebastian, closing her eyes*
Sebastian: *Wraps an arm around her, scooting closer so she was more comfortable* I gotcha...
Ominis: *Shakes his head, causing Poppy, Imelda and Natty to chuckle* Here we go again...

I guess when you get old, you have to say goodbye to more and more friends ☹ Everett was one of our champions of training! He and the team did so much together in the name of force free training. I was recently discussing this clip featuring Everett because this position keeps the vein dorsal instead of twisting it when a tail gets pulled to the side, as they sometimes do when we retrofit enclosures for training. And the tail drops down which allows good blood flow. This space is just the shift area. He can leave at anytime and mosey on off to enjoy fun times in the habitat, but as you can see, he had learned good things happen when you station for blood draws. It was a pleasure watching you learn all these years Everett (10 years for me I think?) I have no doubt all the exceptional training made your transition peaceful. RIP Everett, Santa Barbara Zoo, oldest snow leopard in the world. #snowleopard #blooddraw #bigcattraining https://www.instagram.com/p/BxxeWMbn8MC/?igshid=1gxcgfjxmncz2

West Coast Road Trip Itinerary: 10 Destinations that Will Blow Your Mind
With the fast approach of summer, many RV owners are making sure their motorhomes are road-ready for their upcoming travels. Of course, one of the biggest aspects of preparing for your summer vacation is planning the perfect road trip itinerary!
To help you prepare, we at Kirkland RV have created this West Coast Road Trip Itinerary of our favorite destinations along the Pacific Ocean.
The West Coast is a beautiful slice of America. With gorgeous landscapes, breathtaking beaches, and lush forests to offer travelers, it’s no wonder that many RV owners plan to drive down the West Coast during the summer months.
This itinerary starts in Seattle, ends in San Francisco, and features 10 destinations along the West Coast that will blow your mind and give you lots to talk about with your friends and family when you return home.
West Coast Road Trip Itinerary Day 1: The Olympic Peninsula
Our itinerary begins in Seattle, Washington. After filling up on a hearty breakfast at Portage Bay Cafe, drive north and take the Edmonds ferry to Kingston.
Now that you’re on the Olympic Peninsula, drive west on Highway 104 until it hits Highway 101. Turn right, onto 101 and drive north.
After 1 hour on Highway 101, you will arrive at your first destination — Lake Crescent. Lake Crescent is a long and incredibly deep lake nestled up against the Olympic Mountains. The water is a stunning blue and there is a variety of attractions around the lake for you to choose from. Options include the picturesque Marymere Falls trail, Pyramid Mountain, and the Devil’s Punchbowl (a shockingly-deep swimming hole).
A few other notable destinations on the Olympic Peninsula include:
Gorgeous Rialto Beach, where you can walk north along the ocean to witness the famous Hole-In-The-Wall.
Ruby Beach, where you can watch the sunset against rugged sea-rocks.
Quinault Rain Forest Trailhead, for a short ½ mile hike and a taste of Washington State’s rainforest ecosystem.
Day 2: The Northern Oregon Coast
After a full day of exploring the national parks of Washington, day 2 of your West Coast road trip focuses on more developed tourist attractions along Highway 101.
As soon as you cross the border into Oregon, stop in Astoria for two famous tourist attractions. The first is a climb up the Astoria Column for stunning views of the Oregon coast from 126 feet, and the second — for something on the wild side — visit the docks on the north side of the city for views of the famous Sea Lions of Astoria (yes, actual sea lions).
Next, drive a short 10 minutes south of Astoria to visit the Lewis and Clark National Historical Park. Here you can explore a replica Fort Clatsop and witness how the Corps of Discovery spent their winter on the West Coast.
Get back on Highway 101 and drive 40 more minutes south to take photos in front of the massive Haystack Rock, a shoreline rock formation that offers incredible views and access to marine life in its tide pools.
Other notable tourist attractions along Oregon’s northern portion of Highway 101 include:
The Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad, for a seaside ride on a historic steam engine train.
Tillamook Creamery, for a delicious dinner meal and tour of the iconic cheese factory.
Tillamook County Pioneer Museum, to learn about pioneer life in early Oregon.
Devil’s Punchbowl Arch and Cobble Beach, for breathtaking views of the rocky Oregon coast and the Pacific Ocean.
Day 3: The Southern Oregon Coast
Start your day off at Thor’s Well — a seemingly bottomless sinkhole in the rocky shore that acts like it’s trying to swallow the entire Pacific Ocean. Then drive south on Highway 101 for 20 minutes until you reach Heceta Head Lighthouse. Spend an hour here enjoying the walk up to the lighthouse, the mind-blowing views, and conversation with the very knowledgeable park volunteers.
If you’re in the mood for wildlife, drive 5 minutes farther south to the Sea Lion Caves in Florence. Or, for some more exhilarating activities, drive 30 minutes farther to the famous Oregon Sand Dunes for some off-roading, sand-boarding, and hiking.
Other notable destinations along the southern Oregon coast include:
Stillwagon Distillery, for some delicious craft rum tasting.
West Coast Game Park Safari, a 21-acre zoo that features emus, Bengal tigers, snow leopards, and capybaras.
Prehistoric Gardens, located in Ophir, this dinosaur forest walk will surprise you with guest appearances from the land before time!
  Day 4: Northern California
Within 40 minutes of crossing the California border, you will reach Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park. If there aren’t cars behind you, make sure to slow down as you drive through the park, or stop at one of the trailheads so that you can get out and appreciate the size of the giant redwood trees.
For a true “touristy” redwood experience, stop at the Trees of Mystery attraction for a tram ride and a sighting of giant Paul Bunyan, or drive a bit farther south to the Klamath Tour Thru Tree and pay $5 to drive or walk through a giant redwood tree.
Other notable attractions along the northern California stretch of Highway 101 include:
Big Tree Wayside, a massive 1,500-year-old redwood tree that is 300 feet tall and 68 feet around.
McKinleyville Totem Pole, at 160 feet, it’s said to be the world’s tallest totem pole and is carved from a 500-year-old redwood.
Confusion Hill, an attraction that manipulates the laws of nature and gravity to mess with your mind and make you wonder if it is actually possible to walk on walls.
One Log House, to see a tiny house constructed inside the trunk of a giant redwood tree.
Frey Vineyards Winery, for some delicious organic wine tasting.
Day 5: The Drive Into San Francisco
Your last couple hours on Highway 101 shift away from the ocean and meander inland. Here you will find food and wine country. Notable wineries and vineyards on this stretch of 101 include:
Rivino, a boutique family winery, here you can taste small batch wine grown and produced along the Russian River.
Jaxon Keys Winery & Distillery, for wine tasting on an open patio and views of the lush valley.
J Vineyards & Winery, for delicious wine and cheese before arriving in San Francisco.
Before the end of the day you will find yourself crossing the Golden Gate Bridge and entering San Francisco. Your West Coast road trip itinerary may be done, but your exploring doesn’t need to be! Make sure to schedule a few days of sightseeing for San Francisco before beginning the journey back home.
Itching to get on the road but lacking an RV? Make this summer road trip itinerary come true for you by stopping by Kirkland RV and finding the perfect RV for you and your family. Contact our team of RV experts today to ask about the RV’s we carry.

Sheila Cammack COUNTRY BOWLS  with Geoff Paylor and Jo Richardson The Flamingos travelled to San Luis hoping to find the Romulans ‘cloaking device’ had failed. Trekkies out there will know what I mean. As it was, the Romulans were lost in space and the Flamingos executed the necessary ‘ coup de grace’ winning on all 5 rinks. The Geckos managed to steal an away victory winning on 3 rinks with a score of 8 – 4 . Total shots 100 to Country Bowls Geckos and 83 to Horadada Royals. Well done to the Geckos & thank you to  Geoff Eggleton as acting captain. Great result. For more information on Country Bowls Club please visit the website www.countrybowlsmurcia.com ring 966191552 or email [email protected] El Rancho Bowls Club With the season’s festivities over and the Pintos playing the Eagles at Vistabella, what a splendid day it was, if a mite chilly in the shade. The Pintos came away with 2 rinks and just a deficit of two in the overall shots, which is always a good away score, I enjoyed a good match in great company, as I am sure we all did. Meanwhile the Raiders played host to Greenlands Chestnuts and came away with 4 rinks and a draw, a very good day for them. In the afternoon the Palominos were also at Vistabella playing the Buggies and put in a good effort against a stronger team, but it’s all about the company. The Palominos came away with one rink but were not shamed and gained a little more experience. Friday morning found the Mustangs at La Siesta playing the Blues, their seemed to be a few trying to shake off colds from UK trips and a chilly start reminded us why we live in Spain. The Mustangs came away with just the one rink, but several were close run games. Meanwhile the Broncos entertained La Siesta Gold and played well taking 3 rinks in a chill that made joint moving an early challenge. In the afternoon the Rangers played host to San Luis Pumas and were grateful for the afternoon warmth, taking one rink and drawing another.  For further membership information contact Sheila Cox at [email protected] or Brian Taylor on 9654077093 or at [email protected] HORADADA BOWLS CLUB by Irene Graham First report of 2019.  A very Happy New Year to all. Our first match of the year was Monday in the discovery division on a lovely sunny day and we were away to Emerald Isle Moonrakers.  Four rinks out the five could not have been any closer.  Only separated by one or two shots.  The 5th rink was a better result and gave us the overall shots.  Our winning rink was: Jenny Davis, Peter Davis and Sheila Westwood 18 – 11, our drawing rink was: Wayne Jackson, Les Davies and Mick Kirby 16 -16 Very well played to all of the team, so close and yet so far.  The final score was 78 shots for to 75 against, giving us 5 points to the Moonrakers 7. Not such a good result for Friday’s home match against Country Bowls Geckos in the Southern League.  Once again after a cold start the match was played under beautiful blue skies.  The Royals only managed a win on two rinks, so very played to our winning rinks of: John Goddard, Jack Linehan and Barry Evans 31 – 10, Mark Jukes, Ken barber and Roy Thomson 16 – 15, The final result was 83 shots for to 100 against, giving us 4 points to the Geckos 8. Keep ‘em bowls a rollin’ team for better results next week and move up those tables.  Horadada offers a warm welcome to new or experienced bowlers, and provides the necessary equipment.  Our roll-up days for this friendly club are Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday mornings.  Please contact Fred Trigwell on 659139129 for more information. In Division C  the Silvers travelled to La Marina Merlins and lost by 100 shots to 62 with the winning rink coming from Tom Heaslewood, Ann Edgerton and Lee Plummer winning by 13 shots to 12. Quesada Bowls Club Report by Dee Stephenson It was back to business on the bowling greens this week after the Christmas and New Year break. The week started with mixed fortunes for our teams in the South Alicante Winter League. Quesada Diamonds played Vistabella Drivers who unfortunately could only field 4 teams, so the Diamonds started the day 10 points to 2. However, they won on 3 rinks and only lost by one shot on the fourth rink. So the shots were Diamonds 100 and Vistabella Drivers 47. A really good start to the season by the Diamonds - well done! Meanwhile, the Pearls played Vistabella Albatross and the match was drawn 6 points each. Pearls took the shots 116 to 78. Currently in 4th place in the league with 80 points, there are only 3 points between them and 2nd placed Emerald Isle Titans with 83 points, so theres still a lot to play for this season. Rubies didnt have a very good day when they played away to Mazarron Miners. They lost 12-0 and the shots were Mazarron Miners 108, Rubies 56. Onwards and upwards Rubies! In the Southern League, Quesada Swallows played La Marina Ospreys at home and in a close match won 8 points to 4 and 85 shots to 72. On Friday Quesada Swans hosted Quesada Swifts at home. A lovely sunny afternoon, the match, as always, was played in good spirits. However, the Swifts won the match 10 points to 2 and the shots were 108 to 70. This performance means that the Swifts maintain their 2nd position in the league. Meanwhile on Wednesday Quesada played San Luis in the winter league. They won the match 10 points to 2 and the shots by 93 to 70. Overall, a good start to the season for our squads - well done! At Quesada Bowls Club we welcome both new and experienced bowlers. We’re a friendly club with a mixture of competition, league and casual players. In addition to league matches and Club competitions we have our popular Saturday morning chicken drive which is open to visitors, and we have free coaching for new members.  So come along and see what we have to offer! Contact our membership secretary Angie Goddard  [email protected] San Miguel Bowls Club – week ending 11th January 19 By Gail Willshire All 4 Monday league teams were in action this week:
The Dalmatians were home to Emerald Isle Neptunes winning 8:4, 87 shots to 80. Unfortunatley, due to an administrative error, the result ended up the opposite way round – oops! Therefore, the best counting rink was Bob Nesbitt, Dave Champion & Barbara Scotthern, 21:15 (sounds familiar);
The Beagles were home to Emerald Isle Titans, winning 10:2, 96 shots to 79, the best rink, once again, going to Margaret Patterson, Johnny Raby & Stuart Denholm 20:13;
The Pointers, away to La Siesta Sputniks won 8:4, 91 shots to 87, with the highest result coming from Paul Cutting, Barry Jones & Alan Campbell, 24:14;
The Alsatians, away to La Siesta Apollos, unfortunatley gained just 2 points, 71 shots to 102 with the win provided by Alan Booth, Ken Hope & Cliff Plaisted, 22:13.
Wednesday’s Winter League team were at La Siesta, coming away with 10 points, 107:67. The prize for best rink went to Sue Milner, Dave Johnson and Gail & Fred Willshire, 24:4. This result puts them joint second in the league. All our Fed 4s teams played at home on Thursday. The Cherokees faced the Mohawks winning on all rinks, with the shots 64:36. The highest scoring rink was Noel Davis, Gail Willshire, Carol Broomfield & Fred Willshire, 32:9. The Apaches played the La Siesta Parakeets, gaining 6 points, 46 shots to 43. The best rink comprised Anita Brown, Ron Nairey, Mike Douglas & Alan Campbell, 21:8. On a very cold Friday, both teams managed to score maximum points – marvelous! The Boxers were up against the La Manga Crusaders winning 128 shots to 52, with Paul Cutting, Pete Masters & Frank Scotthern heading the team, 29:6. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs, away to Greenlands Oaks scored 100 shots to 60, with the rink of the day going to Ken Hope, Linda Plaisted & Alan Campbell, 26:11. A reminder that the Wasps sessions take place Wednesdays 1:30 for 2:00 - €5 for an afternoon’s bowling with shoes and woods available to borrow. Deina: *Stands beside Sebastian, working with her friends to make a potion*
Ominis: *Passes Natty a bowl of frog legs* It smells right
Natty: If Ominis says so, it must!
Deina: *Laughs*
Everett: *Turns around, accidentally knocking over a small bottle of unicorn hair* Uh oh!
Sebastian: *Quickly backs away with Imelda* MERLIN'S BEARD!!!
Poppy: *Grabs Ominis, pulling him backwards* Oh, get back!
Sebastian: *Coughs, waving his hand as the smoke cleared*
Natty: Wh-What happened to Deina!?
Sebastian: Deina! DEINA!!!
???: *Comes out of its hiding place*
Sebastian: *Looks at the baby snow leopard surprised* Huh?
Natty: Deina?
Ominis: I smell a cat-
Deina: *Nudges Ominis, her tail flicking behind her*
Ominis: Who is that? Is there a stray cat?
Sebastian: Holy...Deina you're an Animagus, that's- THAT'S AMAZING!!
Natty: Did the potion affect her, maybe she transformed right as it went off...she's a baby...
Everett: *Stands up* She did, the potion did that, she tackled me out of the way....
Everett: I'd be a toddler if it wasn't for her...
Sebastian: Deina, can you turn back
Deina: *Lays on her side, shifting human again* Yep, I can!
Sebastian: *Holds his hand out, smiling* You are so full of surprises!
Deina: *Grabs his hand, laughing as she stands up* I know! Hey, Everett, you alright
Everett: Yep, thanks for the rescue
Imelda: Wouldn't have happened if you were careful...
Poppy: Gotta agree with her
Deina: *Chuckles and pats Everett's back*
