Hi, I know you're resting now, I wanted to share my opinion about the album. I noticed that there are five tracks in Face and they are so similar to the 5 stages of acceptance. What do you think about it? Perhaps my question is incoherent, I am writing it through a google translate.

Before we get into it...

...I have a bone to pick with Jimin.

I don’t understand what Jimin thinks he’s doing not putting Letter on Apple Music or Spotify. Like, why does he think that’s a good idea? Does anybody know? This song is so perfect - Jimin's lush vocals harmonizing with Jung Kook's is beautiful - Letter needs to be available on as many platforms as possible. See, these are the kind of choices the tannies make that just causes me to laugh because yeah these hidden songs are 'gifts to fans' but it's also a crime against all that is good and honest in this world to keep it off channels those fans will gladly pay for? The fact Ddaeng is still stuck in Soundcloud purgatory is reason enough to kidnap Bang PD's nephew and sell him to the mafia, far as I'm concerned. The only reasons I haven't done it yet because kidnapping is illegal in my country, the Cosa Nostra require a blood oath, and Jin wouldn't like delays to his game update.

Letter is Promise all grown up, a little wiser and more developed, and I hope in every subsequent album Jimin releases for the rest of his career, that there is a version of Promise, a song that feels like Jimin - comforting, easy, warm, simple, and beautiful. Listening to it I'm so thankful Jimin exists. (Yes Jimin, I'm that fan who is simply happy you're alive - Pixid reference, so for anyone who hasn't watched it yet I've linked it here).

It's a great thing Jimin has been so forthcoming in talking about the process and his reasons for making the album, the songs on it, as well as how he had key input on the choreography. I strongly suggest everyone watch his live (linked here - I should probably also mention the English subs aren't up yet, just FYI). Jimin has been very clear about what he's communicating in FACE so I won't tarry on it.

Set Me Free Pt 2

This is the best song on the album.

Alone

There are two reasons why SMF Pt 2 comes out on top over Alone though Alone in many ways is the superior song. (1) The production (including the use of autotune) in SMF Pt 2 is incredible, and (2) because Alone ends on too disturbing a note for me to dwell on, knowing that it has come from Jimin.

Everything about Alone is perfect. The way the song begins with piano, then guitar, and then drums. Jimin’s voice. That man’s voice seriously fucks with my head. It’s the way I feel every time Yoongi twitches his voice when he’s being particularly nasty. Or anytime I hear Joon’s adlibs in a song. Or what happens in my head every time Hoseok slathers his vocal inflections with grit. I don’t know if I’m making sense, but what I mean to say is that Jimin’s voice during the entire song feels like a gift. It draws you in. And then you hear what he’s singing about...

It’s heartbreaking.

I can’t abide the thought that this is something Jimin went through recently, and that I relate in a very personal way. The emotions expressed in Alone feel too raw, too scary, and too real, and while that could point to a worrying state of mind in its author, I think Jimin’s idiosyncratic bluntness and clarity of speech in Alone shows the state of someone who still reflects often, is self-aware and also resilient.

Still, it’s a sad song to hear, an even sadder one to sing, but it is one of the most powerful and beautiful songs I’ve ever heard.

Face Off

I appreciate the vision Jimin had for this song. Starting with the gag of him playing the Flea Waltz in the intro - the song the members have teased Jimin with repeatedly by saying it's the only song Jimin knows how to play on the piano - Jimin used that common (good-natured) taunt and then weaponized it in a song putting those who have crossed him in their place. It's clear by the second verse when Jimin raps that he's pushing himself to express what he means in as many ways as possible. He's challenging himself and sending a message, and that I can respect.

Anon in ask 1 who talked about the album showing the five stages of grief, I agree sort of. If we were to assign a response to each song, I'd say...

Face Off is Anger

Like Crazy - Denial (though bargaining works too)

Alone - Depression

Letter - Acceptance

Like Crazy

This is my least favourite song on the album because it never really develops, but it's also not supposed to. Jimin has said he wanted to express a dreamlike state in Like Crazy, and he does that impeccably well. The song leans into its 80s groove, heavy padded synths, something reminiscent of if Foster The People and The Weeknd made a song together. The thing about dreamlike states is that they lull your mind, and one easy way to create that effect is repetition and monotony. Think about why someone trying to hypnotize someone else tries to keep their voice steady, calm, and monotone. So, many times listening to Like Crazy I wanted the song to go somewhere, to become fuller or less predictable, but that would kill the trance so it didn't. While it's not my preference, I can appreciate Jimin's commitment to the idea of the song.

It's a great track even then. I sometimes listen to it right after Big Man, Little Dignity by Paramore.

Speaking of Like Crazy, there's been much ado about about Jimin's sexuality, queer-coding, etc in the song and so Anon in ask 5, I see where you're coming from.

Jimin is queer. I don't know what else there is to say about it or why even the mere possibility of Jimin being queer should generate the amount of fuss/discourse it does. It's possible I'm wrong of course, but like you Anon I don't think I saw Jimin even stand straight once during the entire MV. There’s not a single straight thing about this guy.

For the sticklers, perhaps the more diplomatic way of saying it is, 'many of us strongly suspect Jimin is queer.'

Jimin seems very pleased with his first album and this is my favourite thing about the last few weeks. Watching him for the last nine years, it's gratifying to see how he has fully embraced himself, his limitations, his pride, his vices, his virtues... Jimin is a strong tenacious person and in making this album, he turned that intensity inwards, towards learning to love himself. The result is five great tracks, and I'm eager to see what more he will show us in the future.

BTS have been the most consistent long term, but I move around a lot…

Which member sparked your interest first?

Taehyung I think. I for sure agreed to watch Hwarang for him even though he’s barely in it

Tae and JK

What makes them your current bias?

JK is still my bias for sure, the most consistent one in the rotation. I think he’s an all-rounder for me. I love his dance style, his voice, his looks and his personality is fun and intriguing and very different to mine in a way that makes me curious. Also, I love piercings, tattoos and his sense of fashion

Who is your bias wrecker?

Yoongi and Namjoon are always battling here. Yoongi for his calm demeanour and easy-going charm (and beautiful face) and Namjoon for how fucking attractive he is. Like I would try and date him for sure. He looks amazing but the way his mind works is the sexiest. Growth is sexy too, so is being inquisitive and thoughtful. Our cooking would be horrendous together, so he can pay for takeout, but we'd have exhausting and amazing conversations on politics and philosophy. 

Which members are you currently obsessing over that aren't your bias/bias wrecker?

No one, Namjoon is my prime obsession for now, JK just left and Yoongi was a long term resident in my brain before that. 

When did you first discover this group?

Probably summer 2020. I lived with my ex and his family at the time. His sister was a Kpop fan since 2nd gen and had tried to show me stuff but nothing stuck until 7th sense - nct u. Then I got into GG and eventually BTS with their MAMA performance, but I was resistant for some reason. Then it clicked and took over my brain that summer. 

Have you ever been to one of their concerts?

Nope unless we’re counting their online pandemic concert. I was home for the holidays, having breakfast in bed watching it. My dad set up the sound system for maximum comfort. 

What are some of your favorite songs by the group?

Tough choice… Airplane Pt 2, Magic Shop, 134340, Look Here, Coffee, Ma City,  Run BTS, We On, Attack on Bangtan, Spine Breaker, Boyz with Fun, Begin, Lie, Go Go, Dimple, Dis-ease

hey AHAGSES! It’s been kinda dry on ahgaseblr and the boys had a successful comeback May 23, 2022. Now they are off on their own doing their solo endeavors and I would like to bring more GOT7 content back to Tumblr. So I will be hosting a got7 revival event. yanan being suspicious is kinda off to me too bc i feel like you wouldn’t take it out on y/n, more so on chenle. although he does seem to dislike y/n based on what she’s been saying so there’s that 😭😭 idk cause yanan and chenle’s relationship doesn’t seem that strained and they both still live together lol and interact. even though chenle spilled/leaked??? (i think) the fact that yanan was gay, he doesn’t seem to be too upset by it. also chenle’s parents lowkey shitty so getting disowned doesn’t seem too bad.

Anyways my ultimate group is aespa and my ult bias is winter but it used to be BP and rosé! What drew me to itzy tho was actually I saw yuna do a cover of illusion by aespa so I started following itzy and then I thought that cherry was soooo gorgeous and her dancing style is so appealing. Then I learned that everyone called her ugly and the worst idol and I’m very spiteful so I fell in love with her even more because wth 😭😭

Okay so I've noticed something.

Listen, I love jungkook. I really do but. There's this thing that I'm confused about.

Like we all can see that the company is going all out for his solo. Like you can clearly see the difference between the way like crazy was treated by the company and the way jungkook's single is being treated and will be treated along with his album.

Let's not deny the fact that jungkook is the company's fav since they think that he's their breakout star.

So we have jk being the company's fav or the fact that the company is treating jk well. Right?

But from what I've noticed since the solo era that jk is always trying to somehow rebel against the company.

Like we have his lives when he's not allowed to go live from home or something but he still does it. The company must have warned him about not sleeping on live but he still did. Even explicitly saying that he knows that the company don't allow these things but what are they gonna do? Fire me? He said something like this. Also deleting his insta when he knows that it will effect the company. That was a big move.

So we have established that the company is treating jk well but jk is rebelling against the company in the ways which are not too much but not too little either.

So I'm confused as to why he's doing this?

Is this arrogance because he knows that no matter what he does company can't do anything to him because he's apparently their 'Breakout star' or whatever. But looking at jk through the years I don't think he's arrogant? He seems sweet and kind.

So then why so rebellious when apparently everything the company is doing is in the favour of his career.

Or maybe there could be some other reason for this rebellious nature but i can't find any. Then again we don't know about what's going on behind the scenes.

Also it could be just me overthinking and that these little moves of jk are not even that rebellious.

But what makes me kinda bitter is that jimin is the fucking sweetest person ever. He seems to respect the company, then also f*cking b*tch hybe treated face like shit when we all knew how much potential like crazy had. F*ck hybe seriously.

I'm not calling jk out or anything. I love him. He's my bias wrecker. But it's just something that i noticed about his behaviour lately and was curious about it. Also I want to add the fact that the company treating like crazy like shit was not jk's fault. It was not jk's fault that the company is pushing him. He's just doing his job like everyone in the industry.

But still I can't help but feel sad about jimin's mistreatment by the company when he worked so hard. All his achievements were downplayed. They didn't even acknowledged his historic achievement.

hoya is always number one in my heart, despite him leaving the group in 2017 🥲 dongwoo and sungyeol are my tied for my faves after him

♡: What makes them your current bias?

hoya caught my attention from the beginning lol because back in 2011(!) i saw a gif or pic of him here on tumblr and thought that he was yunho from dbsk but then could not find it again, and for awhile i could not figure out who it was so this mystery was stuck in my mind until i finally figured out it was him. aside from his looks, i really liked his personality too lol hard work, ambition, earnesty and a biting wit are qualities that i admire in people even rn and hoya had that in spades. his perseverance in his journey to becoming an idol was very inspiring and moving to me (tw: child abuse, the tl;dr of it was that he wanted to pursue dancing and becoming an idol when in high school and ended up dropping out and leaving home after he had a physical altercation w his dad when they had an argument about his career goals. so he was basically homeless for awhile before he got accepted as a trainee. he also was told initially he wouldn't be able to debut due to having a stutter and then he basically trained himself out of it in a very short period of time without any professional help). he was also the ace of the group, even though dancing was (and still is) his passion, he also was a decent singer and rapper and actor (at least in reply 1997 lol, idk about his other roles. also his role in reply 1997 is literally revolutionary lol i won't say why bc spoilers but i recommend watching it if you like kdramas! he plays kang junhee)

hm ig like i said above, dongwoo and sungyeol. both of them are genuine, earnest and funny in different ways

i wouldn't say i'm obsessing over him lol but sunggyu has climbed up the list in the past year or so

in 2010, when they debuted. 2010 was a time where you could easily know and keep track of everyone who was debuting when it was announced (which is wild to think about how different it is now and how the industry has become so saturated), but they also caught attention because they were being mentored by epik high who were and still are a pretty well known k-hiphop trio. i didn't become interested in them until 2011 though, because i didn't like the song they debuted with

yes, i've been twice. i had to look up the dates because it's been so long lol but the first time was in 2013 and the second time was 2016. honestly one of the best memories of my life

hi! i just wanted to come by and say that i absolutely LOVED reading melting point. i’m a jay/jungwon bias (with the rest of the members being my bias wreckers) but that fic made me become ATTACHED to sunghoon. everytime i see him now i think of THE melting point park sunghoon, and i cant help but giggle. & the way he FLIRTS w y/n, i canttttt. my fav scene is when psh says “what are we eating?” while back hugging y/n when she went to the vending machine at the skating rink to grab minhee a snack😭💕 i think of that line like everyday, no lie. LIKE STOP BEING SO CUTE. i lowk find myself gushing hella at my phone when reading. but i finished the melting point series in one night, it’s seriously a masterpiece and your writing is incredible. I CANT COMPLIMENT YOU ENOUGH! the way you portrayed sunghoon’s character was sososo perfect, to the point i wish this fic never had an ending. even tho i also enjoy other writers and their fics, i never usually send a message to the writer abt how much i loved it, but i HAD to let you know about your masterpiece. i srsly cant emphasise enough on how much i loved melting point, it was life changing LOL. you’re an amazing writer and i will definitely go and read your other fics.

it would also be such a dream (but NO pressure ofc) if you can write a fic similar to melting point, like sort of a forbidden love (?), but with heeseung/jake (or a member of your choice too!), maybe about them being y/n’s #1 best friend’s older/younger brother, or y/n’s childhood best friend (who didn’t have feelings for y/n but suddenly she does smtn that makes them fall in love, etc idk you’ll probably come up w something more magical and charming), but smtn like that😭 but i srsly adore your writing sm and will def read the rest of your fics on your masterlist. respectfully, i love you. <3333 LOLL but on a serious note, I love your writing and i hope you’re having an amazing day. please make sure to always take care of yourself and drink lots of water, stay hydrated!! you’re my fav writer now <33

stray kids is definitely my ultimate fav group, and chan is definitely my ult bias lol my second favorite group is ateez, and for them my main 2 biases are hongjoong and wooyoung, but san and mingi are definitely major bias wreckers. third is txt, and my bias is yeonjun. If you go by my youtube recap top 5, fourth is seventeen and enhypen is fifth, which is nuts because i definitely know twice and have listened to more of twice's discography than either of those groups, but I listened to fml a LOT as well as cheers and rock with you, rock with you was my third most listened song and the other 4 were all stray kids lmao. Enhypen probably got up there because i listened to bite me, chaconne and scarifice a LOT this year LMAO i really like some other songs by them, but those ones probably did most of the heavy lifting lol. I like seventeen and enhypen, but i feel like i don't know them or their music all that well, i can maaaaybe identify all of the seventeen member (i think i can confidently identify at least 10 lol) and i haven't really listened to a whole lot of their music. enhypen i'm pretty sure i know all of them, i think i might get sunoo and sungwon and jungwon mixed up sometimes, it's just because their names are similar lol versus like. twice i definitely know everybody and have listened to more of their songs, but i guess i didn't have some of their songs on repeat as much as some enhypen and seventeen songs this year? and my biases for twice are jihyo and momo. I'm also surprised xdinary heroes weren't in my top 5, i've listened to them quite a bit this year, i thought it would've been them and twice instead of seventeen and enhypen. i've had a hard time choosing my xdinary heroes bias but i think it's between jooyeon and o.de.

I also really like (G)I-DLE and my bias for them is yuqi, as well as p1harmony, and my biases for them are Keeho and Soul, though i'm not as good at keeping up with them... honestly, i mostly just actually keep up with stray kids and ateez, everyone else like i listen to knew music when it comes out and that's mostly it lol it takes so much time and energy to keep up anymore than that, i can't do it for more than 2 groups at a time, and even then, i still don't keep up with anyone as thoroughly as i do skz. Oh i really like xiker's too, i've listened to everything they've put out so far and really liked it, but i don't know literally any of the members so i don't have a bias atm lol

Your bias line is so good and you're so real for being Seokmin biased dk biased creatures are my favourite 😍 my svt bias unit (there are so many i decided to make a whole unit) has Jeonghan, Scoups (remember the green room aggressive 'gwiyomi' video??? Yeah I fell in love with him after watching that) Hoshi and Vernon (he was actually my first bias in svt i religiously watched every YT vid they put out because of him, Jeonghan and Hoshi)

Your neo bias and bias wreckers line is so good too you have TASTE ma'am and we also have some common biases! In the neo bias unit there's Taeyong, Jaehyun, Yuta (127) Jeno and Jaemin (dream), Jisung (U), YangYang (WayV) but despite all these biases my fav member has to be Mork (I'm sorry to all my biases 😭)

From Riize i thought i would end up being Sungchan or Shotaro (still can't believe they aren't in NCT anymore...) biased but I ended up being Wonbin, Sohee and seunghan biased

Other than that it's Hyunjin (stray kids) Mingi (Ateez) i don't really have a bias in got7 they are kinda like big brothers?? But my fav is bambam! Hyungwon and Shownu (monsta x), we have the same bias in Shinee (Key and Jonghyun 😭) Minho is the bias wrecker, Sehun (Exo), Taehyung (BTS), Soobin (txt) Jake (enha), Jihyo (Twice), Seulgi (RV)

Ahh the 00s classics! I love all those movies you mentioned! I really love watching films and TV shows (smth me and Vernon have in common) and one thing that's important to me is the fashion I am a big fashion lunatic and looove to see a good outfit on screen with that being said some of my favourite 'comfort' films are Clueless (1995), Fight club, Adams family (both 91 film and 60s sitcom), funny face, breakfast at Tiffany's, Heathers, pretty woman, the devil wears the prada, mean girls, pulp fiction, fallen angels (1995) and more. My favourite directors are Wong kar wai, Quentin Tarantino, Satoshi Kon and Hayao Miyazaki (maybe Martin scoresse too)

the batman movies are def my least favorites of his bc i just cannot get into action movies😭😭 (except spider-man which is 🔛🔝). but i think memento might be my fave from the ones i've watched

but yess😭😭 i just love those 00s teenage romcoms😭 they just give such good vibes. bridget jones is also an honorable mention. like other than that i like horror movies, esp. cult classics like scream and jennifer's body, but i don't tend to watch those on repeat😭

I am a fan of Zelda !!! I only played BOTW and TOTK so I don’t know if I can call myself a fan but I really enjoyed both ! I actually didn’t finished TOTK because I waited for my nephew to comeback from vacation so he can watch me beating Ganondorf (I also waited because I just don’t want to finish the game 🥸).

For age of calamity, I really enjoyed watching the cinematic hehehe. I actually don’t know very much about Koei game but I’ll look more into it later !

I can’t wait to see Zelda reference in one of the next fic !!

for the beyond live, I actually haven’t watched it lol I just watched some clips on twitter but let me tell you. My biases in dream are Jaemin and Haechan but because of this concert… I feel like Jeno is also becoming my bias (he’s actually my bias wrecker since forever haha).

And the performance I enjoyed the most was Boom, because dream is my fav unit and they wore SUITS 😭🙏🏼 I am a sucker for men in suits, I don’t why but whenever I see one I’m like 🤩🤩🤩 so yeah

i totally get what you mean! i am also just relatively new in the sense that i only played AoC, BOTW, and TOTK, but that still makes us fans, i think! as long as we have experienced the content and feel positively towards it, that definitely makes us fans, regardless of what era we came into the 'fandom' during (i think that applies for all things). has your nephew not yet come back from vacation? i've also only finished the four villages again, but i'm now wasting time collecting bubbul gems and avoiding ganondorf because I DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT MF! but if you ever beat ganondorf, let me know how it goes!! i'm curious to know if the fight is hard or similar to the phantom ones!

that's totally okay! koei games are rather old but i love how simple and mindless they usually are! when i was younger, i had a ps2, and that's when i first started playing dynasty warriors 4: empires. from then on, i was totally obsessed! some of their other games are samurai warriors (4 was great, but 5 is a super good story too!), atelier (e.g. atelier ryza), and i think they have tie-ins with other franchises like one piece warriors, fire emblem warriors, and super smash bros. ultimate to name a few!

for jealousy, i feel like my top three list is very odd, but i've rationalized it in my head enough to feel like i can defend it SOMEHOW (to myself): haechan, then mark, then renjun! haechan definitely feels like he'd be loud about being jealous too so that's why i put him on top! i can definitely also see jeno and jaemin have possessive streaks too!
