Re-listening to Warbreaker. Nightblood is my favorite character from Nalthis by far. They’re an ancient magic sword with the mind of a little kid, who just wants to be good and be praised for doing a good job. I love them. They are baby. And when they are drawn, they cease being baby for just long enough to be simultaneously awesome and horrifying. And it’s cool as hell every time, as terrifying as it is. The switch from “Hello! Would you like to destroy some evil today? :D” to

“DESTROOOOY!!! EEEEEVIL!!!!”

and then back to “did I do a good job? Are you proud of me? :D” can be jarring, sure, but Nightblood isn’t really in control of themself while drawn, and they can’t remember what they did afterwards at all, so I can’t stay mad at them. Their nature, again, is that of an excitable little kid who’s misguided but well-meaning. I love how they just blurt things out as they think of them, and mostly just want attention, and it makes me want to give the sword (who would probably make me vomit on physical contact) a big hug and tell them that yes, I am so very proud of them. Y’know, after I finished throwing up and such. I’d obviously need to wield Nightblood and survive first to be made immune to the sword’s effects, which would be highly unlikely, but my point is that Nightblood the sword is baby and deserves the world.

Keep getting this weird fuckin advert about some sort of dating sim?? "Whats the difference between how a mum and dad raise a child" and then it shows two identical babies and two identical children but then the mum and dad characters pick some different option in a menu and the kids start dressing up in more cliche gendered clothes. Like seriously i dont know if this is meant to have trans vibes or not but either way its uncomfortable to have a parent apparantly literally deciding what gender they want their kid to be?? Thats a weirdly common trope in anime, "this character who crossdresses and seems transgender is actually cis and their eeeeeevil mom just forced them to dress like a girl because she's eeeeevil. Youre evil for thinking this character is a trans girl because they actually hate crossdressing soooo much and it symbolizes all of this childhood torment."
