despite their little party fiasco, kim hadn’t really noticed anything different about auggie. slipping into the seat next to him, she put some food in her mouth and then began grinning over him. once she’d chewed and swallowed, “you like it here?” she asked, her own excitement clear ( a rare event ) . under the table she nudged him with the tip of her converse , “ you gotta like it here ‘cause it’s cool and i said so . “
