(via Bachir Reddioui - Native American portrait)
This rare and unique piece of original art
is an incredible example of masterful
portraiture in an oil painting.
Painted by an artist,
this painting features a portrait
of a Native American man wearing traditional clothing.
The portrait is painted
with a vibrant palette that features warm earthy tones
and charismatic reds, greens, and yellows.
A Native American portrait hung
on a wall in a wood frame with studding
held together by screws.
It is mainly a close-up with some background
showing to accentuate the focal
point of the Native American portrait.

‘Lavender Mist’ Number 1, 1950 - Jackson Pollock.
When I first studied Jackson Pollock I admittedly pushed the ‘mainstream’ abstract expressionist aside, not understanding raw forms of abstraction. Most of his works were too confronting, and harsh on the eyes that made it increasingly hard to appreciate Pollock’s artworks. Then we analysed ‘Lavender Mist’ Number 1, and man I don’t know how to describe first witnessing this painting (even on screen), my friend and I joked the longer we looked at it it felt like we were hitting acid. The painting was the purest form of infatuation. ‘Lavender mist’ triggered an emotional concoction of melancholy, and genuine peace from a distance memory so forgotten my brain can only recall the subjectives, and misty blur of colour.
In Pollock’s nature of painting the sheer size of the canvas, nearly ten feet wide piece of complexity engulfs the audience within its presences. The overall colour scheme of ‘Lavender Mist’ stay trues to its name, resembling a winter pallet of cool purples, blues and warm pale pinks, with whips of white to break tension. The colour and tone of ‘LM’ enacts a sense of tranquillity, a peacethat despite its contrasting violent thin brushwork, composed of flicks and spatters. Pollock morphs two diversely different atmospheres that I can’t help but use to allude mental illness.
The stark and chaotic acts of dynamic paint parallels with my invasive thoughts of anxiety- rapid overlapping and intertwining thin thoughts, not knowing where one brushstroke starts and ends. Juxtaposition to its calming colour, its inviting and gentle but nonetheless all too consuming depression clutters my brain until none of the original canvas is left, but built up layers of psyche.
I rate ‘Lavender Mist’ 9.5/10
---
I dub this painting as ‘White Rabbit’, because it reminded me of a children’s storybook + the candy!
