hi I’m annemarie and I’m an art historian! not adjuncting for the first time in five years was rly hard for me so I threw some slides together so I could still (sort of) teach the same material as my language of art class but a) I threw these slides together for instagram so space was/is limited and b) language of art is a ten week run through art history so I’m presenting only the most accessible information here – there’s so much more to this art period and to this artist! – please don’t expect it to be comprehensive and please do ask if you have any questions!

oh p.s. my first ever class of art history students came up with the name ‘art mom’ for me at the end of the quarter and yes it does make me cry if I think about it too long thanks so much for asking

С 2004 года она живет в Ванкувере с мужем и тремя взрослыми детьми. Ее картины много раз становились частью различных латиноамериканских художественных выставок. Landscapes by Colombian artist Marcelina Posada.

Marcelina de Posada is a Colombian artist. She was born in Medellin, Colombia, into a family with several generations of artists. After finishing school, Posada moved to the “Athens of South America” - Bogotá. She studied architecture at the Catholic University of Javeriana, specializing in visual expression and landscaping.

She studied fine arts at one of the most famous art institutes in Bogotá - Campusano Museo Gomez Academy. Then, for more than ten years, she studied painting under the guidance of many world artists, improving her skills and drawing techniques using various materials such as charcoal, watercolor, acrylic and oil. Since 2004, she lives in Vancouver with her husband and three adult children. Her paintings have been part of various Latin American art exhibitions many times. Marcelin's work is currently on display at the Vancouver Art Gallery, where it is featured in the gallery's permanent collection.

Edvard Munch (1863-1944) "Love and Pain" (1895) Oil on canvas Expressionism Located in the Munch Museum, Oslo, Norway The painting shows a woman with long flame-red hair kissing a man on the neck, as the couple embrace. Although others have seen in it "a man locked in a vampire's tortured embrace – her molten-red hair running along his soft bare skin," Munch himself always claimed it showed nothing more than "just a woman kissing a man on the neck."
