REWARDING ‘GOOD’ DEEDS ↳ afternoon, 3:37PM. location; a really big estate, bigger than taru’s future with @gswnoeul

when you’re just staying afloat in any space alone, it’s easy to let yourself get swayed by the swelling feeling of emptiness. ataru has felt like that for far too long- knowing the feeling even when she was under her mothers care. the music that swirled around the night air just outside peaked her interest, and next thing she knew she was sitting at the bar counter with a drink far too formidable for her tolerance. she should’ve stopped at that, but if she remembered correctly- she’d seen at least three empty glasses cupped in front of her. after that, all she can recall was a seemingly handsome man and the picture of his wrinkled sleeves in the grip of her nimble fingers latching on tight for balance. that imagery alone cycling through her head now, worried her. 

it made her think, what else did the light weight do to the stranger? 

ataru didn’t even wake up until noon. surprisingly, her headache was mild but her body felt heavy and her throat- extremely dry. the feeling wasn’t enjoyable. hopefully, for her sake and the people around here.. last night was nothing more than a rarity. 

the dash to the kitchen for water, and two gel tablets of ibuprofen brought back a brief dizzy sensation, and by the time she’d settled into the cup- she saw a white piece of paper at her apartment door. that’s how she’d gotten the note that brought her out of her home despite, the remnants of her hangover looming over her. written on the back of the receipt, was an address and a few words that hinted to the expectation of her thanks... in person. the devil on her shoulder almost considered ignoring it. an address, but not a number? that was nothing less than shady. 

but, ataru sometimes couldn’t resist her curiosity- especially when there was no doubt that whoever helped her- sort of knew where she laid her head. she only started to regret her decision when the small buildings seemed scarce and trees became abundant. taru wasn’t even aware there were people that lived this high up the mountain. soon, the journalist was stepping out of her taxi with wide and very confused eyes. her gaze didn’t get to meddle much further since the gates opened to reveal a maid- one that seemed to be expecting her arrival. ‘you must be who we’re expecting- with a sincere thank you?’ the words caught her off guard a bit, “ah... yes.” just to say thank you? was she suppose to bring something? money? food? 

she followed quietly, not even hiding the fact she’d been scanning the place.
